done it third try by less than a second
you need to be passing the car in third place as you are going round the 2nd last corner
hug the kerb on last corner for half of it then let the car run towards the middle of the track for the exit

GT4 has some challenging races and missions. Mission 30 was pretty hard because it was on Tsukuba (really small track).
Actually, I got it on the first try. I tried not to touch the other cars or the dirt. I caught up with the 360 and came in first by .2 seconds.
Now, don't get me started on Mission 34 (SO FREAKIN HARD!).

Mission 30 is one of my favorite driving missions, and one of the easier 1 lap races. I got it on my second try. On my first, I didn't drive in an overly focused manner (The Impreza was quite easy to control), finishing only about 1.5 seconds off the pace of the 360. I decided to devote half an hour to trial and error. I then tried again, passing the last Legacy somewhere in the back straight instead of the last curve, and passing the 360 just before the line, beating it .057 seconds!
