I was gonna say that I will pass on this game, but then the driver customization happened. But, just like with F1 2016 and GT Sport, I'll be strictly buying the disk in the case that I'm absolutely horrified by it and want some money back for my suffering.

They weren't joking about re-used assets. Graphically it looks like a PS3 game, the sounds look they were ripped from DtD and NASCAR Heat 2002, physics look off. The best thing about the gameplay was that the frame rate was smooth.
The audio has to be ripped from DtD:

I know there are a few months left for changes, but this is really concerning.

I still can't judge it yet tbh. I wanna see this simulation mode that they were talking about instead of seeing this arcade stuff. I'm not liking how the physics are looking and they basically copy and paste the sound from 2002 heat to evolution which i don't like. Please overhaul those two things. Career mode is the only positive i seen so far. It looks really good. Looking forward to hearing more about that. I'm still curious about a bunch of things still like, simulation mode, presentation, damage, online, tire wear and more. Hopefully we hear more about that stuff soon.

If it handles like PS2 NASCAR games, I'm sold
Honestly, **** realism. If it can recreate the feeling of young me playing PS2 NASCAR games, I will buy this game and all it's DLC's every year until they stop making it.

Well, we're probably two days away from the tralier so hopefully that can show off more. Next time they show off a gameplay video I want it to be in simulation mode with someone that can actually drive. Then I can probably give my thoughts about the early build of this game.

Exactly, people want N2003 for consoles, which isn't going to work.

Fixed. Having been a member of a NR2003 forum since 2009, I've seen the same skeptic disapproval everytime a new console NASCAR game came out.

Someone over on the Operation Sports forums who has played the game said sim mode is "night and day" compared to the arcade mode that's been shown.

Let's hope. They suppose to be streaming the game today on twitch. But I'm not sure if that's gonna simulation mode or not. Tbh they should just continue to work on the game for the next couple of weeks then show off some more gameplay except this time in simulation mode. It's nothing to be impressed with right now except career mode which looks really great so far. Just my opinion.

The gameplay from Jahgee's video made the game feel like Dirt to Daytona with 2007 PS3-esque graphics. I want to say that it may only be in the pre-alpha stage, but they only have 4 more months before the planned release date to make this game better.

I'll give it a try for sure, but I don't have the best feelings that it will be up to par for current-gen standards.

can they not find anyone who is even semi decent at racing games?

what a terrible way to market your game.

Well that was stupid to have someone that probably knows nothing about NASCAR and is trash at driving to show off your game. The game looks terrible right now tbh. And only 3 camera options. No roof or hood cam???? Also i don't wanna wait for AI to get challenging. What if people like me want a challenge right away? So far it's a no for me. Maybe they shouldn't show nothing else until the end of the july or beginning of August. Then we can see at that time how much progress they have made. They got a lot of work to do though. That's all i gotta say.
