Turn all assists of, if you're finding it a breeze. It's not as easy. If you're turning all assists off and still winning by 10-20 seconds; hats off to you!

I thought that's how we'd all done it? It's a Stock Car not the space shuttle Destroyer. ABS 0, TCS 0, MT, cockpit view, HUD + other aids off completely, still win by a large margin.

PD must really take us for 5 year old kids without motor-neuron skills!

Now a 30 lap race of Trail mountain with SRF as an option and not forced, full mechanical damage and weather change would be the nuts........ Now, if only Arcade Mode provided rewards for winning.......

Traction Control. Detest it. I hate how when a wheel spin is about to happen while countersteering, it tries to correct it so you lose power and it then puts you in a slow wheel spin that you seem to enter a no point of return.

Don't forget wheel simulation.

Why wasn't there even any tyre wear... 3 laps into Suzuka and I'm leading. No not ramming. However, I'm glad there was no Indy or Daytona. I detest Nascar slip streaming. Don't get me wrong, it's fun at first but when 10 of them are in yours and you're getting raped, LoL! Not fun. I detest doing 10 laps of Daytona and I lose on the last lap just before the finish. I can't seem to keep momentum on slipstreaming/tailing. It's a bit like chess I suppose.

What brake bias were you at? I prefer Nascar with 7F - 10R.

Try that with the ABS off!
Without it, a more correct brake bias would be 10F - 3R or 4R. Almost the opposite.

I think I generally leave the brake bias as it comes. For the A-Spec events I found a good tune in the tuning forum and have only had to change the gearing for different tracks. Works a treat.

I don't use ABS for Nascar. As I find the braking gives me far too much understeer.

If you have a sensitive enough thumb/ foot then ABS isn't necessary, although the braking zone is increased due to lighter braking technique. The only cars I really use ABS for are powerful race cars such as the Group C, LMP and the like. If I can't be bothered to have a proper race I'll leave it set to 1 like I do online.

Okay. I decided to go in and try these races again. I don't get it. I drive as perfectly as possible and only manage to pass 2 cars at the most and then they manage to catch up. What settings are you people using that are finding these races so easy? I've tried with everything off and everything on full but it doesn't seem to matter. I'm litterally going to destroy my PS3 with a hammer if I can't figure this out. I actually had to just turn it off and walk away because I was about 3 seconds away from destroying my DFGT and the PS3. I can't afford to smash anymore wheels or controllers despite how great it feels.

Have you passed the NASCAR races in A-Spec, if you have then these should be a walk in the park. Maybe you throttle is only opening half way or something? I find it hard to see how this can't be won.

Something must be wrong with your DFGT. The cars are more like slot cars with the SRF on.

Easy but fun seasonal... I can't believe what I'm gonna type, but I'm starting to like NASCAR Cars...

Got all the races on my 1st try, except the one in Rome... I had to redo it 4 times But I have to say I enjoyed every one of it a lot

I started to get a bit annoyed at the car's handling on Rome - mainly because I'm used to winning everything on the first attempt. Even Trial Mountain! I switched off my PS3 because I realised that (i) NASCAR's weigh twice as much as the cars I usually drive and so do not handle quite so well and (ii) I had road rage of sorts and was driving ****tily anyway. Tomorrow I will do the last 2 races for another 3M. I only have one premium car left to buy in the Dealership all the rest I will win or be awarded when reaching B-spec Level 35 and A/B-spec Level 40.

I'm amazed how people are not winning on the first run. I'm not saying anyone is a bad driver I just wonder whether some of the seasonal NASCAR races are programmed to be harder on some servers. It seems hardly unlikely but so does everyone using the same car and getting different result. I know not everyone is a veteran GT player but I shouldn't be something for people to struggle with.

I guess there are differing skills on gtp. I, for one is struggling to get even silver(down by 0.4s) for the eiger time trial tho fuji is easy for down tuned f1 mclaren. Some may feel those time trial gold is a piece of cake. As for NASCAR, yes I find it easy but not if I turn off abs.

But not everyone is using the same controller/wheel settings which makes a difference.

I wonder if the cars gain horsepower through the race, like when you buy a new car and break it in. My laps keep dropping towards the end of the race but I'm running the same line.

These were pretty disappointing. SRF locked on???

Beat them all the first try passing all the cars on the 3rd or 4th lap. Dunno why they hyped this so much.

Well, regarding to Rome, I think the car performs really well, considering his heavyweight.

I restarted twice this race because I banged the barrier while taking avoiding measures to a IA car in the chicane right before the opposite straight.

But is so fun tho control this cars in this barrier limited slippery track.

Too easy once again - Was hoping it would be similar to the previous Special that took at least a little effort to come first and the prizes were worth the effort (Level 22, 23 and 24 tickets). But this event was incredibly easy and the prizes were distinctly average.

Not to mention 99% of the world outside the US have no interest in NASCAR.

I was glad they DIDN'T disable SRF. If they did, it would have been impossible. Any way, did the first 2 on the first try, Suzuka on try 2, and Rome on try 10. Sucks that I bought a NASCAR before it then got the EXACT same one from the ticket.

Meh. All I asked for was the dang option to turn it on or off. Seems like the natural choice.

But I suspect the race is actually much easier with SRF off, as it affects you AND your competitors, and for some reason the AI really has trouble with this car.

I'm not trying to pose as the super-driver here. I think TCS is perfectly fine to leave at 1 if you're using a DS3 (personally, I turn it on and off depending on which turn I'm headed towards).

SRF changes the dynamic a heck of a lot and if you're used to it off, it doesn't feel real enough with it back on. No biggie. I still had a lot of fun with these races. I just hope they give the gamer the control over this stuff.

More people like Nascar than like most other forms of motorsport. F1 is probably the only exception.

So be careful what you ask for.

And I'm no Nascar fan. I don't mind a taste of it once in a while. It's legitimately interesting if you give it a fair chance.

If you're talking pure numbers, then you are probably right, but I think you would have fun trying to find anyone outside of the US who would be able to name any NASCAR drivers in the current (?) season. Similar to SuperGT outside of Japan or Touring Cars outside of the UK.

For Nascar try people in Germany, UK then France. They DID NOT build oval race tracks from scratch for no reason in each country.
Like NFL its most popular with the Germans they spent way to much.

Nascar tryed to do a EU league with Ascar, which the UK stig (ben collins) drove in and won.
But like AU its turned in to a V8 race car league and dropped most of the Nascar rules due to costs.

Well, I'm Portuguese, and NASCAR is way more popular that SuperGT, altough not as popular as WTCC.

Maybe the typical european petrolhead isn't very fond of so many caution periods shuffling strategy, makes racing more close but we prefer full throttle all the way, using safety car only as last resort.

I understand it has a massive following within the US and I fully expected someone to say it has a following outside of the US when posting on a forum dedicated to racing, but to say it has a huge following in the UK is ridiculous.
