there can always be a last patch so the online only requirement is turned off.

It happened with SimCity, it could happen with NFS.This EA we're talking about. I like your optimism though.
lol that was just an example, i'm just saying there's always going to be situations for people where they won't have the internet and it's pretty stupid to not be able to play a single player game without being online.
Speed isn't necessarily the problem, stability is.
Also, what happens when the online servers are shut down? The game becomes a paperweight.
You've yet to really describe how considering yet again the world we live in, if this is a direct issue (which I believe you said it wasn't) then sure I could understand, but I'm guessing that the majority of their customer base is using products connected via internet because if they weren't then the game wouldn't sell and EA tends to make things that will sell and do so at a vast amount.
If you own a PS4, XOne or PC then it is likely you have internet available. Please stop mentioning Sim City.... yes we know it has been mentioned over x100 in this thread.Have you considered that not everyone in the world lives in areas where broadband internet is readily available? And EA is well known for making stupid decisions, look what happened to Sim City....

It's EA. If online only will make people pay to play their game obviously they are going to make it online only.Yes the majority of us do but not everyone does, and the internet can go down randomly.
I think the reason they want it to be always online is to stop people downloading the game illegally, which is fair enough but it's still going to cause problems.
It must of been a big decision to make their game always online. If people don't buy it because they don't have Internet then it is their loss not ours. But I'm sure having it always online will have their pros.Yes the majority of us do but not everyone does, and the internet can go down randomly.

So discussing why some people have a certain distaste for certain aspects of the game is wrong because you don't feel like reading it?
This is another video on grip handling and I thought it was nice how it looked, I will stick to drifting though.

I'm guessing the frame rate will be more stable in the final release but check out how bad it's running in the e3 build... looks like about 20fps when it drops
BlackPanthaa mentioned in the comments of that drift video that the graphics looked even better in a newer build.
The music that plays when customizing cars though... yuck.
Just like in NFS Nitro's garage.BlackPanthaa mentioned in the comments of that drift video that the graphics looked even better in a newer build.

You guys probably already know this but I just read that we can put a spoiler on top of a spoiler. Holy ****, that's crazy!![]()
Uhh... I did that before, you know. ^^;
Doesn't matter, though, Xzibit's face in that pic cracks me up all the time.
I'm not really a fan of that online-only direction many games are gong towards these days. Yes, it does help with preventing piracy but I don't really like being forced to always play in a social environment, especially if it's with strangers. I like playing online but I want to be able to enjoy the game alone as well.
There's also the problem of having no possibility to pause the game which is already annoying in NFS Rivals, for example. And also, if you have connectivity issues, it then means you can't play the game at all.
I've never played Rivals but I'm guessing you cannot pause the game in Single Player races? I don't see the point of that if there are no other users in your session.
I may have taken that idea from an earlier post in this thread... Sorry about that

No, even if you're offline you can't pause the game, which is especially problematic if you're a racer with a high stack of Speed Points and a high multiplier and you suddenly have to do something important.
It's a silly design flaw really but I'm afraid that it will carry onto future games too.
