People are baggin on my opinion, but I expect my next gen racer to at least live up to the last gen. Prettier graphics are not enough. Keep bashing but this game looks to be a shell of its former self.

No graphics aren't everything but they are one of the most important things. And we also get better physics, car models, tracks and improved and working head tracking. This points to the most realistic console sim ever made and I'll be enjoying that realism. I guess let's see what's actually announced before we start bagging what looks to be something way better than FM4 in every way!

No night races, no weather, no multiple screens, no marketplace, there is a lot of "no" when there should be "yes yes yes"

I've been a hardcore Forza backer since the first game, I just don't get any excitment from this so far, its as if they said "Thanks hardcore guys for making us what we are, nice knowing you" Now look at these pretty pictures of static cars.

Wait, no marketplace? What?
It's been replaced with a different system. Instead of you selling say paint-jobs. You give the paint away for free, and for every-time the paint is used during a race you'll be paid for it. I think that's it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That's what I remember too. Don't know how that'll work for individual user-created stickers, though... or tunes. Maybe the same?

I'd actually be very interested to know how tuning itself is handled; specifically, if we can tune while in an online room. I know there was a coding error in FM2 involving that, that saw the feature removed from 3, but it's one of my biggest qualms with the game. I shouldn't have to have a dozen different setups saved ready to be selected for a race, I should be able to change my car's set up on the fly based on the track I'm at.

I would imagine so.

I love the sound of the new system. They're finding new ways of keeping (and putting) more money into the players pockets.

No night races, no weather

It's been a long time since I've seen racing at night or in terrible weather.
I have no idea why people are fascinated with racing under either of those conditions other than the added challenge.

That's the STOREFRONT. Marketplace is where you buy DLC.

If the night racing effect is not better than GT5 then I dont want it. Driving with a weak flashlight on the hood is boring

Weather now that I don't get how they can't come up with something. I think they are trying to find a compromise between framerate and a nice rain effect. Tough to get both right.

I also thought that the night racing in GT5 was not the greatest. and the rain in car was ugly. Unless the get it right i can live without it

That's very relevant in a game with no endurance racing.
That in itself is a huge bummer, no endurance racing, in a racing game? Besides that, a day/night cycle adds to the game regardless of endurance racing, because it completely alters the driving experience, making it feel like you are on a whole new race track. Dawn, mid afternoon, dusk and twilight, 4 unique seamless experiences just with this addition. Can you imagine Horizon without this feature?

In my opinion Forza 5 seems to be almost like a Prologue Version. I will buy the next Forza for sure , but for the time being no FM5 for me. The 200 car count is bad news but I could live with it, but only 14 tracks, no nürburgring? That's is going to be boring soon.
Likely the console will be cheaper too, when FM6 arrives. The game seems to be incomplete, it has to be launched because the XO needs games now.

Understandable really, I'd rather have 16 brand spanking newly digitised track than a port from FM4

14 tracks coming from 26? I think that regardless of how good they look, that is going to get old really fast. Horizon syndrome is going to hit after about a month. I hope the master plan for this game is to build it out past Forza 4.

"Casualties include Suzuka, Infineon Raceway and, perhaps most notably, the Nurburgring and its famously torturous 12.93 mile long Nordschleife configuration"

Dang even more ouch! I didn't know they were also removing tracks. :scared:

You are right. Its sounding more and more like a beta or prologue for sure.
