It probably will look like that, just with conventional doors.
I like the idea of it, though I'd be interested to see if they can hit their price target with that engine and gearbox combo. The reason the Nano is incredibly clever and very cheap indeed is because it's had simplicity designed into it. It's not just a regular car that's then been pared to the bone, it's been designed that way and anything they add is effectively an option.
70bhp and a five speed auto in the world's cheapest car seem like overkill, even though that sounds a bit daft to say. A CVT would be a simpler solution. A rugged manual would be even simpler.
And 35bhp in a Nano still gets 70mph which is more than enough for the market in which it's sold, so why you'd need double that for a car aimed at similar markets is beyond me. Unless they seriously intend to sell it in Europe or the States, in which case it's still overkill when you can get superminis with less power which still somehow manage to cope okay.
