I like the S800 RSC Race Car. VERY drifty thing

This with the Dome in the field made for the closest finish of the lot at Tsukuba when you factor in getting through a pack that has no intention of making it easy for ya.

A lovely little machine which I ordinarily wouldn't probably have used. It destroyed the Dome everywhere else.

What tires were you on? I haven't been able to beat the Dome on any race with any car on comfort softs. Haven't gotten the Dome at Suzuka though.

I went to SH, but it didn't matter at Tsukuba, the closest I got was about 8 sec back.

i used the fully tuned subaru 360 and it can beat all except the dome on suzuka (the only track I tried). I reckon it could beat the dome on trial mountain

I finally got over my resentment over japanese "classics" and used Isuzu something, tuned to something over 400 PP (not by far the maximum allowed 450), sports tyres (soft, I guess) and easily won. Nice money for it, otherwise boring.

With over 400 PP car CS can be enough to beat everything but the Dome. With SS even Dome becomes easy pray so maybe SH or SM when Dome shows up.

The skyline 2000gt upgraded but on comfort soft can win all with dome around. Toscana is fun with this car
But I can't win it in stock for with cs.

I've got an Isuzu Bellett GT-R, in excess of 400PP and on CS tyres, which I think can beat the Dome at the Toscana track (will test tonight). Will probably have to resort to SH tyres at the Clubman Route though. That track is too damned short to catch the Dome, about 4 seconds adrift at my last go...

Stupid seasonal. The Dome Zero is so much faster than the other cars than when it appears in the grid I basically end up blowing past the other cars in 2 laps and spending the remaining laps catching that one car. Spending half the race driving alone isn't exactly fun.

One good thing I can say though is that I really like that Toscana track. PD really needs to let us download the custom tracks from the seasonal events to race any car we want on them.

Great seasonal. After several attempts beat the Dome on Tsukuba with my Honda Z. Needed race soft though and some psycho passing. Took him on the last hairpin and didnt need to defend the straight- won by 1.5 secs. What a great little car!

I've been really enjoying these seasonals. Firstly a good chance to use some cars I probably normally wouldn't, plus I quite like the chase with the Dome.

I usually start with a car that will be a bit below what I would expect to win with, then build it up. I try to keep CS tyres on and work on some basic mods (sports gearbox, suspension, some engine tuning etc) without going too OTT on mods. I then look at the lap times I am getting and the gap at the end to see if theoretically I can beat the Dome (assuming laps 2-5 match the fastest), then just work on driving cleanly through traffic.

I've used a Mitsi GTO, Nissan 240, plus one other that escapes me at the moment (and sorry cant remember which specific versions of the aforementioned cars).

Well, my Bellett is tonking the Dome all over the show on CS tyres, apart from the Clubman track. Annoyingly I have to slip on a set of SH tryes to catch him there...

Here's PD replaying the same old crap. The forums have had so many great ideas for seasonals but all we get are redressed repeats of the old. Wheres the rally seasonal, wheres the kart seasonal? Time to go trade this disc in on MW3.

Actually Kazunori has often mentioned how he and Polyphony pay a lot of attention to the GT fan community, especially sites like this.

I've been using the Mazda Cosmo Sport '68 from the online dealership for this challenge. Originally purchased it just because it was the first rotary powered mazda.

Tuning:
Stage 1 engine upgrade
Sports air filter
Sports catalytic converter
Sports exhaust
5 spd close ratio transmission
Height adjustable sports suspension (-5 Height f&r, camber 1.0f, .5r)
Single Plate clutch
Sports Flywheel


Tires : Sports soft (to catch the Dome),Sport Hard otherwise

All that put my hp to 153 and pp to 379

Fun car to drive, predictable drifting characteristics, very nimble and light. I think it's one of the undiscovered gems in the game. Here's a few pics...

I thought it was impossible, so I tried it on SUZUKA last night. Fully tuned Subaru 360, you won't believe how stunned i was when I beat the Dome; I couldn't believe how stunned I was.
You've got to be fully awake behind the wheel of the Subaru 360 -- especially on the Toscana (Tarmac) track.

I beat the Dome with the Subaru 360 on Suzuka, Trial Mountain and Toscana. On Tsukuba I am about 15 seconds behind, no chance of improving by 3 secs a lap. On Clubman I'm 7 secs behind but I don't think I can improve enough to beat it. It's actually quite a fun car to drive.

edit: forgot to mention this: if you go into cockpit mode in the 360, and set interior view to Narrower, all you can see is the top of the steering wheel! Looks pretty weird, especially if you turn all the instruments and map off. This was on an old 4:3 telly, so it might not look the same on a widescreen, or an HD set.

Another thing I forgot: The first time I tried Toscana with the 360, I left it stock. I nearly got lapped on my first lap! Only just made it to the first corner of lap 2 before they overtook me. The leaders then lapped me again before the end of the race, and here is the saddest part: on their slow-down lap, the last of the AI cars lapped me while I was still racing at full speed

Won by 1.8sec with RS. I don't think I've gripped the wheel so hard, trying to hold that back end steady. What a laugh. Really don't understand how people can moan about this stuff. Maybe they just don't have the skillz

I did, and I also used SRF (works a treat to stop the back end from sliding everywhere), but I reckon it could be done with a lesser tyre.

I tuned up some other old cars and found both the mazda carol 360 and honda life step van '72 both fully tuned have less pp than the 360 but are more stable, being FF and the van can have a spoiler. Manager to win suzuka with the van
