New to the GTP_WRS? Introduce yourself

Thought i'd introduce myself properly:

Hi, my name's Barry but I prefer Baz. I've been taking part in the WRS for a few weeks now and i'm really enjoying it. I was provisionally put in division 3 bronze, then actually put in division 4 gold which i'm quite happy with. That, to me, shows that the mods here take the time and effort of putting people in the right place 👍

I use a G27 which I bought with a playseat Evolution in February. It took a bit of getting used to after 15 years of pad useage.

I have a couple of weaknesses (foibles?) as regards the WRS:
1) I've always used the blue racing line and still do out of habit, although i'm gonna try not to and see how that goes.
2) However much I try, I cannot use the G27 gearbox effectively enough to beat my Auto times (I'll have to wait for GT5 for the flappy goodness).

So, excuses aside, i'm glad I found this very informative site and a big thanks to every member of the WRS for making the WRS what it is.

Welcome Baz!

I have a guy named Barry who works for me. He too is from England & likes to be called Baz as well. Myself I have a G25 & a playseat.( the older model ) I too watch the blue line way too much! I have enjoyed watching our times in D4 the past few weeks. I joined WRS a long time ago, did 1 race then didn't do another for 37 weeks. It's been great getting involved over the past few weeks. Hey everyone! I've joined today to the WRS and I was accepted as a Division 2 Gold member. Very pleased to be here, I've always wanted to join a GT5P series with a bunch of the games fans, so I see we're all here because we love the game :D

Name's Oscar, and im 19 from originally Illinois, but I reside now in Houston Texas. The competition is fierce here but I'm down for the challenge. Thanks for having this great forum guys!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just heard back from Jack and am now a member in Div 4 gold.

I can't tell you how much of a rush it's been for the last couple of months. I have never tried racing sims of any kind until January of this year. I'm hooked but I just wish I could get more time in the seat.

Ever since I managed to clear the S class in mid March I've been working on driving skill and thought I was doing a pretty good job but silly me that was only on free run ( I didn't want to get in anybody's way). Then I went online and with all of the cars around me and also with the turbulence from the other cars I spent more time spinning out and hitting walls that I decided to just move out of the way and study the other drivers.

Now that I've been slowly (I apologize to anyone who happened to get in my way) improving I am slowly getting closer to the lead pack.

The good and the bad of all the online racing is the rapid heartbeat when in a heated battle, It's really intense and at the same time I have to keep control of that so I don't get too excited and crash.

I also want to relay how it's been a pleasure sharing the track with a great group of guys and girls, everyone is so helpful.

See everybody out there for some good clean racing.👍

Ive been active in WRS for around 2 months & it has been great. Time is always an issue for myself as well. But I will say this, being in the WRS has helped my skills each & every week. You will enjoy it for sure.

I'm a Six Axis pad driver but I'll be making the switch to a wheel hopefully in the next 6 months.

If I'm not racing on-line I guarantee you'll find me on Fuji in the F1 trying to beat UncleJun. 4 seconds off so far. :( I won't rest until I've beat him though. :)

Anyway, nice to meet you all. I'm looking forward to some good racing.

Also congratulations on qualifying in D2 amongst some very respected and talented drivers 👍

I myself qualified D2 bronze on Sixaxis, but it wasn't until I bought a wheel that I was able to put the laptimes in that the Sixaxis was always keeping from me. You'll love it :)

I used to race with the pad under my old name m5doc/ GTP_Evo8doc last year but stopped playing after feeling frustrated with the pad on PRO physics (mainly the lack of throttle control drove me nuts) promising to get myself a wheel.

I finally got a DFGT in january (7 months later bit more than I had planned) and have been loving GT again, PRO is so much better with a wheel 👍

Anyway looking forward to the wide variety the WRS has to offer and hopefully I can improve my skills along the way :)
 
A wheel has renewed my interest in the game as well; although I didn't really leave the game fully.
