Let's get this party started! Do we really have to wait till February?!

Today I got my GTP name, did the qualifiers, leveled to 21, and now I have to wait and wait. I'm thinking about transferring all of my cars to the GTP account, one day at a time. Anybody else doing that?! (I think I have 130 cars )

Love the enthusiasm Apollo33, welcome to WRS here at GTP remember that most of WRS is done in time trial mode / free run using tuned and default settings, with combo’s of car and track that you may not always think of using.

Yes there is the online combo’s from time to time and some great events put on by OLR team, one to look forward to is the annual GTP_Race event 04 fingers crossed it will take place.

On top of that the members put on a lot of race events throughout the year.

Don't rush to transfer all your car would be my advice at this time, keep plugging away on your accounts, you’ll find that cars will need to be purchased as WRS unfolds throughout the year always making your garage count go up.

Here is a list of cars used in GT5p https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=115513&page=2
Showing some of the great work done by Race Admin for your benefit to enjoy.

Welcome to wilco, James, Set Vicious, Pedro and Apollo. 👍 The first few weeks of this WRS with this many people participating is going to be sweet! :D

Hello. First time GT'er and very excited about the WRS. Been practicing my Sector 2 for a few days now and will shift the focus to Sector 3 this coming weekend. Can't wait to see how my times stack up against the rest, though I don't expect to be among the faster drivers. Regardless, I look forward to competing with you guys and improving each week. Thanks for organizing this!

Hey, I'm pyxen..aka Tim. New to WRS and GTP, but been loving GT since GT1!

Looking forward to some good racing. :)

Hi, first time GTer and loving this forum, finally an outlet for my racing addictions. PSN id topodogf1. Been playing for a while, but not competively, sounds like a lot of fun!

Hey............any other Texas racers around here...........west texas. Odessa here. Holler at me.

Hi folks, lurked here for a long time but the WRS with GT5 has got me out. I haven't really made my way to any online racing yet, not real confident i'd have the skills to race competitively or safely. I figure I can hone my skills with the WRS for a while first, maybe get to know some people to race with along the way.

I have a GTP tagged username all setup and ready to go, looking forward to participating! Cheers! 👍

Hello to all GTP_WRS members

I'm GTP_UsualSuspect

Greetings from Portugal and looking forward to spent some great time and learn from you guys :)

Hey, all!

I am new in here and I still wondering how to get my GTP-Tag, so I can qualify and submit times..

Can anyone help me?

Hello everyone, completely new to online racing leagues etc... used to race against a lot of friends split screen (and time split on F1GP) but it's been a long time since I raced against real people.

Submitted my qualifer today :)

sup, ive been looking for clean and competitive races but im new here and have a question. is this some kind of championship(points, teams, etc.)????

Welcome to the WRS 👍

This is a casual weekly race series, You can pick and choose when to race. Some guys do build leader boards to keep track of each week and compare, but its not an official score.

There will be opportunities to race in Teams against other drivers but again the main focus is a weekly time trial with yourself vs others. But you will meet many great drivers here and I'm sure others will want to organize their own championships / team events on the side.

WRS is a great starting place to meet people and race, no matter what your interest is.

Hello all. Brand new to this. Real name is Craig. My race name will be GTP_gmeful2. Other than be registered on the site and on PSN, do I need to register at all for the series? Or just submit a time? Thanks guys.

First of all: Welcome to the WRS

I want to add something to what Small_Fryz said. This is one of the best ways to improve your driving. You can see it as a competition but to most it's not about the competition but about the fun and the practise. You can have a good impression if you look at this: http://wrs.gtplanet.net/

This is a leaderboard made by gtplanet members Steven and JoostBaksteen. You'll see that these are results of WRS weeks in GT5p and WRS in GT5 will be different with the new handicaps (which the mods probably going to explain later), but the main thing is going to be the same. There was a leaderboard with points too:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=130550
but most people didn't care about that, cause the main focus is not competition but about improving yourself.

Though it can be nice to win sometimes. ;)

You don't have to register your PSN first before submitting. All you have to do is create a GTP_tag like PSN and run the qualifier. When you send your submission PM to the race admin in the required format, you registered your PSN as well.

Nickname is Devon, real name is Rob.
Looking forward to racing.

Trying to figure out how to register.

All you need to know about getting into the GTP WRS Registry is in this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=153734.

If you have further questions after carefully reading the thread I mentioned above, you can ask them in the discussion thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=153651

Many questions already have been asked and I would advise you to use the search function, before you ask your questoins. But as always, we're happy to help 👍 Good luck :)

I just want to ask something thats got me confused,

Is the WRS based on proper racing(several cars on track) or is it based on hot-lapping/time trials, or both,

I thought the name was a clear indication but recent posts have led me to believe its actually more time trial based.

example:

Small_Fryz: This is a casual weekly race series, You can pick and choose when to race.

Small_Fryz: but again the main focus is a weekly time trial with yourself vs others.

Edit: I'm don't want to single anyone out, that was the nearest post to mine to highlight my point.

You're right, it's all about time trials. I don't know why they have chosen that name but actual online races aren't held within the WRS. Every week we get a new time trial and when the week ends we have to provide a replay within 7 days.

Here's a link with all the information you need for the WRS: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=153734

Welcome to the WRS.

EDIT: I just realised that you could not be into the WRS. If so Bart's (PASM) post contains the information about online events.

Killinator,

I believe the race admins have said earlier that the WRS will continue to be primarily based on hotlapping/time trials. If you look in the WRS archive you will find that the 107 weeks of GT5P WRS have all been in that spirit. Howerver, from time to time the race admins also organised 3 big GTP_Race Events. These race events were posted in a forum specifically created for registry members.

Basically these were tournaments organised within the limited online capabilities of GT5P. In these tournaments you would race head to head against other GTP members (from your division) in a knock out style competition. To me, some of my best experiences in Prologue originate from these events. I'm sure the race admins will come up with something similar or other real racing events in the future. 👍
