Me and Zed have landed in E-Ville! Unfortunately, due to the above debaucherous events last night, I had to take a colleague and her luggage to the plant this morning on my way out, so I had no room for any of my PS2 stuff. Hopefully we have everything we need!

I'm planning to stop by the Challenger, at some point, and Drew will most likely be in tow as well.

I left a phone message for Nick. I'm not sure if he is still going to a concert tonight? If not, we may stop by for the post racing festivities. If not, we'll probably come by tomorrow.

As always, a great weekend, with some great racing! GT4 can now rest in peace :).

Not quite. I'm going to try and get as close to 100,000 points as I can before Nov 2nd. Right now I only have 47k+, and Nick is helping with some choice notes and suggestions. Thanks mate!👍

I stopped by on Sunday afternoon, and I have some video evidence of the event. ;) Here's everyone running Formula GT Cars at Fuji 90's.

I have to call out a mild language warning. I don't think anything too offensive was said but I can't hear all of it.

Notice that EVERYONE in the video is using a wheel. (That was my entire reason for taking it). About time we got everyone on a proper setup. :p

I'm pretty sure I used 5 of the 7 words you can't say on TV while racing that 🤬 Formula GT. When I saw you filming, I just kept my mouth shut .

Top 5 best combos in that game :sly: I would have really enjoyed that one 👍 Hope you all had a great time!

^See what you miss when you don't come? I could have used some help manhandling the Z down I-5, too ;). Oh well, with GT5, we won't even have to be in the same place, and "stuffy" moments will be self-inflicted . Speaking of which, that spicy Thai food made a ferocious comeback Monday morning...but oh how good it was! :D

:guilty: Indeed. O well, maybe the next one if I'm finished with sim mode on GT5. Unless....it's all just via WAN? Time will tell in T - 61 days.

Okay, race report. Leland with Nick in close second dominated 'nuf said. I guess it pays off when you get a lot of track time in GT4 before the LAN event. With all except Leland and Nick I think we can all say goodbye to GT4 and look forward to GT5 with an even playing field since we are all going to have to learn its new physics.

All in all I'm glad everyone had a great time and looking forward to November for GT5. And to everyone who's interested in meeting up at my place for a GT5 introduction, let me know what weekend is best for you in November. So that we can determine which weekend I can setup a meet.

Oh, as my own bragging rights I was lucky enough to win in the Formula GT event as the points leader. Thanks again for Smallhorses and itgirlxx for hosting. Love the new look of your home.

Got 2 secs to say hi & bye!
Thanks to all that arrived and made the 8th iteration of SFGTP every bit as daunting & heart-racing as the first.
 to Leland & Ramon for beverages that've kept me & itgirlxx tipsy for the past 2 nights!
Also  to all for allowing me the luxury of mooching off early on a Saturday night to see one of the most epic sound & light experiences evar. 👍

Not sure why Dan is requesting pictures as proof when a video is moving pictures of proof, but each to his own I guess, only I forgot to take any actual "still" pictures, and indeed our official photographer was absent on a "clothes & wool shopping mission" so excused from usual duties!!! ;)
Spent a few days tidying up & now have my Bro & family staying. Haven't introduced my 20-month old Nephew to GT yet, but it's on the agenda...
Did take back the "emergency" slimline PS2 purchase in exchange for a copy of GT5 Collectors Edition though...:guilty: I might actually buy a PS3 after all...:sly:
Thanks again to all for coming, 👍 I'll post more when we're sans toddler & the entertaining duties are done...

I don't believe in that there Ewu-tube. It's all witchcraft if you ask me ;)

I was wondering how everyone that attended the latest SFGT LAN liked the separate title championship for each car event. Is it something you guys would like to carry on or would you rather have the old handicap type with just one overall winner? Some feedback would be good to hear. So far I think Formula GT, Lemans Endurance, Rally event, NASCAR, GT and Vintage classic races would be a keeper. Any other classes are open for ideas.

Alrighty then I'd say it's about time for y'all to give us some race reports... we want gore, blood, details... a saga befitting the ordeal... or points at least. :dopey:

Yes! Your public demands it!

Well, since all six of us were racing all the time, I don't think anyone really kept score :p.

Not so, I kept score for every race and gave the only hand written copy of the results to Ramon for posting. Below is his rendition of an after event recap.

I did get in a lot of practice due to a significant lack of work during the time prior to the event. Kept my mind off losing the old homestead. Work has picked up quite nicely as of late so there is that good news. Lost my "mojo" during the last race series on Sunday due to blockage and cramps. Lost my seat in the upper LAN and struggled getting back up there, although Nick was able to continue carrying the torch in my stead.

Next time, eat at Summer Summer, and insult the chef because he didn't make it spicy enough last time (even if you've never been there before). Blockage = fixed .

Thank you my friend, I will file that for future use. 👍

Here you go Nick, and those of you not tied with an umbilical cord to GT5 PewLog. You can find the full transcript on the news page.

[GameBlog Fr] How much physics has been reworked in relation to GT5 prologue?

[KY] Characteristics and movements of tires, and suspension have been changed profoundly since the prologue. One could say that this is totally different.

Yes, prepare to spinout more. hehe! it's even going to be tougher than GT5p. If that's another indication of what we are looking forward too, I look forward to a good challenge.

If GT5 were to have any less grip than 5p has it would be a huge waste of time and money just on my part, not to mention the millions Polyphony spent. As for challenges, working on my 95th 200 A-spec points race I can truly say that GT4 has offered many a challenge all on it's own.

GT5 will have lots of grip. You will just have to find it with your throttle "traction control". If you get my drift, haha! get drift. :sly: :dopey:  Oh hey Leland, did I forget my remote for one of the TV's from the last LAN we had at your place?

Okay, SFGT groupies anyone up for an informal meet just to play around the new GT5 version and get each others feedback on what they think. I'm willing to have it at my place. No need to bring your equipment I will have 3 setups for the the RIGGs with monitors, wheels and PS3's. I just need two other guys to show up with their GT5 disc since I only have one copy so far. Not sure yet if I want to buy more GT5 if there is no multi screen setup or LAN mode.
