What an incredible addition.
I hope the Cadillac V-Series, Valkyrie, Genesis and TR010 comes in the near future.
I don’t know about the Alpine, SCG, and Lamborghini. Those seem more likely to vanish.
I have people I can ask at team Heart of Racing about the Valkyrie, they’re a very chill operation and bring a large amount of the funding to make the car exist in the first place, so if they want it present, the biggest of the possible issues would probably be more down to PD having the time to get it modeled. However, the owners of the team have close relationships with Turn 10, and previously offered their assets for the Forza Motorsport team. Not sure if that existing relationship would have them hesitant to initiate with PD or if it’s open season with FM being dead for now.
Toyota and Genesis seem likely given the close marketing partnership.
Cadillac is alive and well, and I would imagine would want to keep marketing their motorsports operations. I don’t know what their relationship is with Forza for the V series, but it’s probably more complicated with Microsoft currently stopping production on new FM games.
Lamborghini isn’t dead, but at the moment has pissed off all of their operational partners. It could return to IMSA, but right now any private team looking to join the top class in GTP or Hypercar would be looking at an alternative partnership with a new entry, like Genesis, McLaren, or Ford, before trying to bring the Lambo back. Since it’s not active it may not be on PD’s target list, however we also don’t know how long this update and scans has been planned or in the pipeline.
Alpine is also complicated, because it’s supposed to be shutting down the program at the end of the year, but further there’s been talks of Renault group shutting down Alpine as a whole. The Endurance program itself is looking at a complete sale of all of their assets to another manufacturer, meaning the A424 could actually keep racing under a new badge, but fundamentally be the same car with the same crew and factory. The most up to date rumor is BYD, who could buyout both that operation and the F1 team, but it’s still very early as far as the rumors go. Alpine’s financial situation could be good or bad for PD’s access to their licenses, so it’s hard to say.
SCG is the least likely, having multiple previous public crashouts over licensing, and afaik, has only appeared in a single game (LMU) that licenses all of the cars that raced in the championship.
Can do a nice 50/50 split with the grid between Hypercar and LMGT3.
But thinking maybe the following would be better...
2 x Factory 'red' Ferrari 499p
1 x AF Corse 'yellow' Ferrari 499p
3 x Porsche Penske 963
2 x JOTA Porsche 963
1 x Proton Porsche 963
2 x Toyota GR010
2 x BMW M Hybrid V8
2 x Peugeot 9X8
1 x Peugeot 9X8 in Pescarolo livery (Pescarolo were hoping to run a car at one point)
Then to finish the grid:
2 x 2011 Audi R18
2 x Peugeot '90X' possibly detuned a tad.
Lovely stuff.
If you’re looking to just fill up the prototype grid, you’d also have these options:
- 1x yellow JDC 963 (IMSA 2023-2025)
- 1x Proton Mustang Sampling 963 (IMSA 2023-2025)
- 1x Mustang Sampling JDC 963 (IMSA 2026)
- 1x Toyota throwback livery as a theoretical 3rd entry (2 black cars, 1 red total)
Extra alternative, modify a Valkyrie:
- 2x green Aston HoR WEC Valkyries
- 1x Blue HoR IMSA Valkyrie
Not sure exactly how to make the in-game car to behave more similar to the race car, I don’t have it in my garage yet. But, the LMH has no hybrid system, 700hp power limit, 1030KG minimum weight, 8500 RPM redline, and the aero had to be reduced for the hypercar/GTP class for reference if people want to start prepping it for a custom race hypercar grid.
The BMW uses a Dallara tub like the Cadillac, but obviously looks very different. The BMW and Lambo have the most similar engine note across the grid, so that could possibly be an alternative scheme for a BMW. Porsche could possibly be made to look like a Genesis with clever livery trickery.
