That's okay. My Texans can't win Overtime games. I think they're 0-6 all-time in Overtime games. Good luck to your Ravens. That's even though your Ravens throttled my Texans back in... October, I think.

Still failing to get over the turnaround the 'Phins have made from last season, seriously impressive stuff. And with Buffalo, San Fran and Kansas on the home stretch, who knows..

You should see their camp. I go to school right next to it. Last year, they built a huge igloo-like dome over the whole main practice field. My guess is that it's now air-conditioned so the guys don't drop dead. But it also could be keeping out the spies from other teams... could be why the wildcat was such a success.

The whole atmosphere has changed, though. It's like the cloud over the place is gone.

Reckon Chad Pennington has had some kind of impact too?

Yeah, but the biggest difference is the offensive line and the coaching. We needed Jake Long to fill the LT position. Our OTs have been all messed up since Todd Wade left. Now everyone is playing in position again, and they're playing damn well. Sparano started as an O-line coach, so he made it a priority and executed.

Texans got turned over four times at Green Bay. Thankfully, Kris Brown saved our asses with a money field goal to help us win 24-21. Crazy enough, Green Bay beat us by a field goal on a Sunday Night game a few years ago under David Carr. Probably safe to say that the next Green Bay/Houston game will be here in Houston and MAY come down to a field goal.

But up next for the Texans... the TNT rivalry- Titans at Texans. A win over them will pull us to 7-7 and an almost non-existent playoff hope will be in our grasp. But it won't be easy, even with Vince Young coming home again. Sweet win for the Texans. And in case you're wondering, yes. Detroit is now 0-13 losing to a game Minnesota team.

HAHA! Dolphins buffalo'd the Bills. Joey Porter got in Losman's butt at the end there.

James Harrison owned again this week, he deserves to be a shoe-in for defensive MVP.

Now he's got:
15 sacks (1 today)
7 forced fumbles(1 today)
89 tackles (9 today)
and 1 interception.

The player of the day though was definitely Townsend. Tony Romo really couldn't handle the Steelers defense today, the only player who did much for Dallas on offense was Choice. He had a pretty huge game tonight.

Steelers didn't look much better on offense, but they weren't turning the ball over, which was really the only difference. Their late game touchdown drive was huge too, great playing by Nate Washington.

Both defenses looked great, but when push came to shove, the Steelers got that key interception. Huge play by Deshea Townsend, it's nice to see him make such a huge play since he's been on the team for so long without much recognition.

Because not many people cared about Jaguars at Texans last Monday night, here's tonight's match:

Tampa Bay at Charlotte

It's a vicious NFC South matchup between two teams with two great records. Who do you think takes this match tonight?

Panthers, soley because Steve Smith is my only hope to making the playoffs in my pay fantasy league

I don't really like when a team is referred to as Carolina when there are two Carolinas. I've yet to hear a "Virginia" team based in West Virginia, or a North Dakota team referred to as "Dakota" when there's a South Dakota as well. Nags aside... the Panthers won this one and acquired sole possession of 1st Place in the NFC South. They won 38-23. So FoolKiller made a good pick.

My Texans have an extremely unlikely hope at a Wild Card. It was good on Pardon the Interruption today that there was actually a segment praising the Texans during Five Good Minutes with Jaws. The note was on if the Texans were good or if the Packers were bad. Locals here thought this would be the season we contest for a playoff after an 8-8 season last season. They'll REALLY start to feel good if they get past Tennessee.

(all taken from Yahoo! Sports)
By the way, yesterday's game at Green Bay was the first game in which the Texans racked up 400+ passing yards of offense in team history. Matt Schaub was accounted for 414 yards of passing offense. He led almost 100 more yards than Jeff Garcia of the Buccaneers who had 321. * Steve Slaton was fourth on the rushing list with 120 yards of rushing from this week of action. The leader was DeAngelo Williams for the Panthers. * Fourth in receiving yards was Kevin Walter with 146, but Antonio Bryant (Tampa Bay) led the way with 200 yards receiving. * Finally, Matt Schaub had only two touchdowns at Green Bay. But he was looking up to Phillip Rivers (Chargers), Peyton Manning (Colts), and Seneca Wallace (Seattle) for three touchdowns. In fact, as many as sixteen other QBs were tied for 4th with two touchdowns.

Remaining Texans schedule:
12/14 - Tennessee (TEN favored by 3)
12/21 - @ Oakland
12/28 - Chicago

A win takes us to 7-7. Winning out (unlikely to me takes us to our first proper winning season at 9-7. The worst we can do is 6-10, which would be a repeat record of Gary Kubiak's first season with the Texans since Dom Capers left.

I'm kind of pissed that NE beat the Seahawks. That would've been an amazing loss to benefit my Dolphins. The Pats have to lose and we have to keep winning if we're to have a shot.

John, I think your Texans could be in for a good season next year. Or you could fall apart like the Cowboys. :p I just hope my team finally beats yours some day.

It's a little OT, but I'm actually rather surprised: NFL plans to cut 150 jobs.

You'd figure that teams are going to keep the same number of players, and relatively few staff are going to get cut in the meanwhile, since they are also part of of the success of the players and the team. Maybe a few less fans will go to the games (or just cut back on the $7 beers), but entertainment still does well in hard economic times.

I suppose the Super Bowl gets so much internally useless hype and promotion, as well as the halftime show (of which probably 25% of the populace actually watches) are good ways to cut back. But if the hosts pay the portion of the advertising and halftime show, then it's not the NFL's choice anyhow.

What surprises me about that is the TV and Internet production crews getting cut. Um, whether one person or 1 million people watch a game on TV it still needs the same number of crew members.

I would expect it in the advertising departments and stuff as they will have less advertising revenue come in. Marketing budgets are one of the first cuts a company will make.

It's ooon this week! Like Donkey Kong.

Tickets are going for a grand a pop, I hear.

There's been some sort of verbal altercation between Terrell Owens and Jason Witten on Friday in the locker room. Most of it was about T.O. not getting the ball thrown to him. If you had T.O. on your team and you were faced with this situation, how would you discipline T.O., if at all?

* A game for tomorrow is San Francisco at Miami. Miami hasn't allowed a touchdown in the last two games. The Niners are looking for their first three-game winning streak since 2006.

* There is also the Steelers at the Baltimore Ravens. I think the winner of this game will get home field in the playoffs. Zrow may not like this, but I'm somewhat leaning on a Steelers' win on the road against a tough Ravens squad. Leaning, not outright pick. It's going to be tough to call at M&T Bank Stadium (or whatever it's called nowadays).

Enjoy all of the upcoming games! I'll surely hope my Texans can give Gary Kubiak his first win over the Tennessee Titans as Vince Young comes home. Some people (mostly sports fans on a call-in show) have said that perhaps Vince Young could have been better off not being a Texan simply because of all the hometown pressure. Even still, Mario Williams is still playing hard on defense. I think the O-Line support is getting much better perhaps since David Carr left. The problem- turnovers. We could have lost last week at Green Bay, but we were able to man-up and stand tall at Green Bay. Now if only we can beat a quality AFC South (our division) team...

Woohoohohohohohooo! Joey Porter again comes up with a HUGE sack at the end of the game. Another great display by the Dolphins. Now, hopefully the Lions and the Bills will win.

I'm damned proud of the Deep Steel Blue, Battle Red, and Liberty White. Kubiak with his first win over the Titans. We've now won four in a row as the Pittsburgh match is even more critical for home field. I'm not sure how it goes, but I think if the Titans lose and Pittsburgh wins, the tie-breaker is next week. But damn... by the way, hats off to Andre Johnson being the first Texans player to 200+ yards in team history. I was very tense and almost out of breath watching that game. That was one hell of a game. Our next game is at Oakland. Not Oakland University- Oakland as in Oakland, California. The black hole. Super Bowl runners-up to Tampa Bay in that one super bowl match (my very first Super Bowl I've watched).

And... Indianapolis beat Detroit after Detroit tied things up 21-21. So they are now 0-14. Detroit will welcome the New Orleans Saints in their next match next Sunday. New Orleans has nothing to lose since they were knocked out of the playoff picture. After New Orleans, Detroit will have to deal with the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field in meeting the Packers.

Still, BIG win for the Texans. Our remaining season is at Oakland and against Chicago. Congratulations to your Dolphins against a game San Francisco, Omnis.

Congrats to the Texans, big WIN for them. Also the Dolphins comeback team of the AFC. And speaking of comeback teams HUGE WIN for my Falcons,Matt Ryan was not at his best but they showed they can win a big game against a tough Div rival. The rest of the season looks like a thrill ride HANG ON!!:sly:

Joe Flacco. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I love seeing the Browns Ravens lose.

Seriously, the Steelers defense this year may be as good as the old Steel Curtain, and I mean that with all of the respect in the world for the 70's defense.

Matt Ryan definitely deserves Rookie of the year. That guy is crazy good.

Also, I think my team is doing well because we're playing early 70's Shula-style ball. We have the no-name defense and an efficient offense. Pretty much every game we lost last year was from turnovers. Take that out of the picture and we're in the hunt, as you can see.

I like the Fins this year, but would you really call Joey Porter and his enormous contract a no name?

For my Texans, I'd be willing right now to add Steve Slaton and Andre Johnson to the Pro Bowl. It would be Andre's second(?) and Slaton's first. I've been excited that we drafted Steve Slaton. When the Texans utilized Steve Slaton more, he's been playing like in his days at West Virginia. Almost as if Pat White were the Texans' QB while Steve Slaton was running the offense. It's not like we run the spread offense like Rich Rodriguez implemented in college, but Slaton made himself known. On defense, I may throw some votes over to Mario Williams and young Amobi Okoye. I was happy the Texans drafted Mario Williams because they needed some better offensive line people or defensive help before going after talented offensive guys.

It seems like for most professional sports teams, you need to give a team about six years for them to become hardened and experienced and talented. It isn't like Le Mans or something where you build a car to win Le Mans either in class or outright on its first try like the McLaren F1 or the Audi R10. Instead, it's like raising a child- he/she is introduced to the world, and for him/her to grow up to be something special, that child needs to be raised and taught well (along with constant supervision) to become something special. The Texans were babies to the NFL, but we may be seeing the Texans go from (along the lines of one of my favorite male R&B groups of all-time) boys to men (Boys II Men).

A few more notes from the Titans @ Texans game... I wonder what was wrong with Finnegan. He's been overly frustrated in that game late. I was scratching my head as to why he wasn't ejected or anything. If this were basketball, those two Personal Foul hits would both be technical fouls or even flagrant fouls. Another head scratcher... how can Kris "Money" Brown shank that 26-yard field goal? I don't get on kickers much, but up the middle and 26 yards out should be almost automatic for any kicker. The pun I usually make is that NFL players must draft kickers out of Florida State for them to shank kicks bad.

The Monday night match involves Cleveland at Philadelphia. Any hope for Cleveland to pull off a big win on the road?

So what yall think about that TD call was he in or not.:scared:

He was in but the ball wasn't. Well, more specifically, the ball touched the goal line but it was before the receiver had controlled it as he was falling. Once he had controlled the ball it was no longer in the end zone.

I agree the ball did not break the plain. His feet were clearly in but not the ball, the Ravens deserved a chance to stop a possible 4th down attempt.

Comeback win by the hawks over the rams, which means we swept them again this year. Hey, at least there's still one team we can beat.

Joe Flacco. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Sorry, I take issue with this. First of all, Big Ben didn't fare much better throughout the whole game except the last 2 minutes. Second of all, our rookie quarterback didn't beat the number one defense in the league - what does this say about Flacco? It says he's a rookie. 9-5 says he's a good rookie.

Of course I wish he would have played better, but the conservative playcalling from Cam Cameron didn't help. I think Flacco's better than he let him be last night.

In my armchair opinion, they didn't have the indisputable evidence to overturn the call on the field. But even worse than that call was the 1st down we challenged earlier that led to a Steeler's FG - that was CLEARLY not over the line. He wasn't anywhere near it.

So yeah, the officiating sucked on a few counts, including that last TD of course. BUT, honestly, it shouldn't have come down to that in the first place. We put the Steelers in a position to comeback, which shouldn't have been a surprise since they rallied a comeback against Dallas last week.

Tough game, tough loss. Time to put it behind you and beat Dallas.
