And my Seahawks finally got a good enough passing game!!! What with all the injuries. We toasted the Rams! Great running game kicked in, and it was great.

Don't celebrate too soon. Doing any of that against the Rams is not an achievement by any standard.

But you have to admit, if you are down that many receivers that every single one that is left are either from the practice squad, or recently signed to help out, anything you can get is a positive.

Believe it or not... this is my FIRST EVER post in this thread! Just because I'm GTP's college football guy doesn't mean I don't have an eye for the NFL. So let me say a few things.

I'm getting sick of seeing that fake punt by Jacksonville on my Texans. ESPN has an "Always Hate Houston" policy. You know, like "when looking for highlights, always show a Houston team getting beat." Like we're the only bad team in the NFL. Someone on radio here in Houston before the Texans/Titans game said that (and he was a Titans fan) he laughs at Texans fans. Nothing pisses me off more than the feeling like there's no hope for your favorite team. I don't care if we're not a perennial AFC threat. I don't care if we're a character team in a character city with people that can brag and be able to back it up. I still support the Texans because they're my home team, and I want them to get better. I DON'T want them to be the first team to make fun of when everything's not going well. Almost as if the issues in Detroit and Oakland aren't as bad as us. Still, we're hosting Indianapolis this weekend. I don't see any way we get past Indy this weekend.

Meanwhile, Scott Linehan lost his job as his former Rams lost. St. Louis has beautiful blue and gold colors, but they weren't golden in their efforts to win yesterday. Don't know who's going to succeed Linehan, but they need help about as much as my Texans do.

Crazy season so far...

^^ I feel the same way about the Seahawks. We have already proven time and time again that we are a good team, and a playoff threat. Yet for some reason we don't seem to get any attention, except when things go wrong. Like this season, a lot of people say we suck, but in reality, we've just had way to many injuries. Sure, its a part of the game and all, but you cant really fault us for it, right?

The mindset I get is that teams like Oakland and Miami get free passes when they're bad because they've had much better teams in the past. Neither are very good right now (especially Oakland), but all I'm saying is that we're not the only bad team right now. Just don't look at us first as far as bad teams go when there are teams in much worse s:censored: than us. That's all I'm saying. Honest.

Even I feel the same about the Seahawks. I've never perceived the Seattle Seahawks as a terrible team. But some do... maybe even West Coast people mostly from Southern California who think one of their own Pacific coast teams is a joke compared to others. I think the Texans aren't going to go 2-14 (or worse) like that one season a few years ago. Almost like we're expected to lose every game. When you're always doubted, the best you can do is win anyways. That's all you can do, really. Just intentionally shut people's mouths. Play like you're ready to beat the other team 77-0 no matter what the other team does.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Wooo! More later.

EDIT: Gah, so close. Still, it was a hard fought game for both teams, and I think we played well - especially rookie Flacco.

OK, I knew the Rams fired Linehan, but I didn't hear who they were using until a few minutes ago when Tuesday Morning Quarterback pointed out the following tidbit.

The defensive coordinator, Jim Haslett, is now filling in as head coach.

The Rams defense has given up 147 points, the worst in the league. Why is the guy in charge of that defense now in charge of the whole team?

I am beginning to think that Linehan was not the problem. Perhaps management should look a bit higher up the chain to find the problem.

One of the dumbest moments of the past weekend was Oakland attempting a 72-yard field goal. I guess when your team isn't doing so well (sarcasm), you tend to do anything to get attention.

There was 1 second left in the half, why not give it a try?

True. Can the kicker be in motion before the snap? It would be cool to see a kickoff-style field goal, kinda like arena football.

WOOOOOOH! How 'bout those Dolphins? We're back.

How bout them Falcons, We actually won a game on the road. M Ryan coming along nicely.👍

Damn it to f:censored:in' Hell... we were supposed to keep a 17-point lead against Indianapolis. But two dumb-ass fumbles as well as a late interception has us losing 31-27. Sage Rosenfels was the quarterback as Matt Schaub had the flu or flu-like symptoms. This is all on Sage Rosenfels. You don't cough up the ball twice and have your G:censored: damned defense do next to nothing. I admit... I'm pissed the hell off. Could have had our first win and landmark win... but we gave everything up. I admit that this is probably the first time I've been mad over a team I loved since the Houston Rockets were taken out of the 2007 NBA playoffs.

Do the Texans want to win or just be the joke of all people? I'm not even going to watch anything on ESPN or anything because you know they'd love to make us look stupider than we already do. We're trying to win a game and Rosenfels does this? I don't care if we need to get Jared Zabransky off the practice squad as a QB. We're trying to win. We're trying to give our home fans something to cheer about. Then look what Rosenfels does- 3 touchdowns on late turnovers.

I'm mad as hell...

Sage Rosenfels is a baller. His problem is just mental. He's a great passer but doesn't make good decisions under heat. You have to admit, though, that jump was ballin' as hell.

Yeah, it was. Being a college football fan, I can't believe I'm saying this- Sage Rosenfels played the game late like he was still at Iowa State rather than being part of an NFL team. Might as well have tried a Triple Option to get the first down.

Even a lot of the Texans fans were loathing Rosenfels (one right now!). Some even think that the quarterback controversy whereas Rosenfels was seen as better as Schaub. Well, this isn't going to make the "Rosenfels for Texans' Starting QB" campaign any better. I'm sorry... you don't lead by 17... and basically give Indy the win. It's like that (switching to baseball) Astros game at Philadelphia in which we were leading 3-0 heading into the Bottom of the 9th... when Jose Valverde's pathetic pitching that night helped the Phillies hand us our asses in the bottom of the ninth.

The Texans get Miami next Sunday. Are we looking at 0-5?

:grumpy: Damn it.

Man, Chad Pennington didn't even throw it up at the end. What a fouler. If he can't throw that far then at least put Chad Henne or John Beck in.

The Texans are a good team, though. They should at least have an even record.

God bless Matt Schaub! Yes! The Texans finally finished and stood tall especially with about six seconds left. Texans still need to get over their turnover issues. That would-be touchdown for the Texans would have given us a 36-28 victory. The Texans COULD go to 3-4 before heading up to Minnesota, but the Texans have to play with charisma and (to quote HALO 3) "finish the fight." Up next, the Lions from MoTown get a feel for the Texas heat. The Texans need to get with the program and still continue to produce. Man... that one play from Schaub increased my heart rate a bit. Not as much as that game-winning touchdown by the Texas Longhorns in the classic 2006 Rose Bowl, though.

The Rams took down the Redskins on the road, so that will make FoolKiller happy. Maybe we get things going again...

Aw right my J-E-T-S scraped by the lowly Bengals while my Panthers got smoked by the Bucs. 1 out of 2 aint bad

Maybe Linehan was the problem. It was good to see them pull it together for one game, even though they still looked sloppy. The Redskins didn't look too good either, definitely not playing their best.

I think this was a fluke, but I am hoping it is a sign of changes coming.

FoolKiller, you said to me like me and my Texans are like you and your Rams. We might be able to have a win streak here when Detroit comes to H-Town followed by Cincinnati, but I do hope your Rams can get it together as a GTP friend of yours.

Detroit is now 0-7 as the Washgington Redskins ran all over them at lovely Ford Field. The Lions may be looking at the first draft pick in April 2009.

Add Cincinnati to the "still winless" list after the Houston Texans played an amazing game against the lackluster Bengals. The Texans won 35-6 and have to feel good knowing they can go into Minneapolis next week to play an inspired game against the Vikings.

Now I checked the schedule on Yahoo! Sports. Cincinnati and Detroit are both winless. They don't play each other this entire season. But if they did play, who do you think would win this match?

I haven't had the 'pleasure' of seeing Detroit this season, but the Bengals are such a mess right now that I'd pick the Lions.

However, if Carson Palmer is playing in this hypothetical game, I'd choose the Bungles.

Good game right now between the Steelers and the Giants. The offense has looked pretty awful for the Steelers besides a big day from Mewelde Moore, but their defense has played a great game so far. That goal line stop on Brandon Jacobs got me so fired up. The Steelers need another stand right now, as the Giants offense looks like it's finally coming alive.

How 'bout those Dolphins?

Great job to Ricky Williams, Pennington, and the defense (esp. Joey Porter!) ftw.
