To be honest I don't even know why there still is a team in Houston. They never really do anything. Plus they got the talent but never get anywhere with it. But then again its because they're in the AFC South. If they were in the NFC West they'd be division champs. There you go Houston, argue for division re-allignment. Shove the 49ers in the AFC South, cause they'll suck in any division.

Rumors are they are in SERIOUS discussions. If that were to happen the secondary would be AIR tight! You'd have to throw 95% to the backs, tight-end and slot receivers. I like it! Rex & Mike T need to sit them both down and say "Hey, we want you to play together like you want to. Lets say you both take $10-$12 mil a year and get this thing done! Of course we won't have any depth so neither of you need to get hurt. But on paper we're tough!
I hope you guys have a slot corner that can hang with Davone Bess. Edmond Gates can burn Revis and Asomugha, and if one of them tries to keep up, Bess will rake in the short completions all day. But all of this could be a moot point since a Jenkins-less Jets will be run on all day.

edit: Bah, that kind of got messed up when I merged the threads.

Washington still has a team because they've won 3 Superbowls. They've had great quarterbacks like Brad Johnson and Sonny Jurgenson. Yeah the Dolphins had Marino, but Culpepper was waaaaay overrated. Houston had David Carr (big time fail). Sure the Redskins haven't done much in the last 10 years, but the Texans haven't did much. Ever.

Well what do you expect, Vandenal? The Texans haven't even existed for 10 years! Their first regular season game was in 2002. You're comparing a team with history to a team without.

I knew about the Titans. I know about the Colts (Relocated from Baltimore) Ravens (Relocated Cleveland Browns in 97?), the Browns (Expansion team in 99?).

The Browns are an original NFL team and their franchise dates back to the 1940s, but their franchise was suspended in the mid-90s when they moved to Baltimore. Then a new Browns in 99. You're pretty much on it. Today's Ravens are yesterday's Browns.

If they hadn't moved to Baltimore, Cleveland may have actually had a good football team

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

alright, i'm done. ripping on cleveland is too easy.

I'm sure the Steelers won't make any big free agency splashes, because they never do and I prefer it that way. Huge money FA signings usually don't turn out that well anyway.

I like McNabb to the Vikings, I feel like he's still got a couple of years left with a decent team around him.

Bengals are only hurting themselves by not trading Palmer for something, cause he's not bluffing on the retirement. May as well get a couple roster players/picks while you can even if it's not much. Better than nothing.

@Villain: And the commissioner that kept Baltimore from getting an NFL team back for the longest time was Paul Tagliablue. Correct?

Well said. 👍

Good move by the Panthers to re-sign both Deangelo Williams and Charles Johnson, now if we only could get another DE/DT and a good CB, our defense would look a lot better.

Nobody is dumb enough to trade something for Palmer when he is just going to pull a Brett Favre and sign free and clear with the team that wants him.

Well, the Dolphins couldn't work something out with Ahmad Bradshaw. It looks like he'll be heading back to the G-men because he wants too much money.

Never fear, though, we have Jeff Ireland. Mr. Ireland said thanks bro and signed Reggie Bush instead.

Washington Redskins trade DT Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots for a 2013 5th round draft pick.

Er, all of this talk about American football got me thinking...

When is the first game due to start?

I have been trying to follow the sport for the past two years, but always missed out the start of it and never really got into it mid-way through the season as I felt it was a bit pointless.... better to pick a team before it starts and see how it goes all the way through the season! Although I did watch the Super Bowl game last season, that was quite nice to see (live too! Although we won't mention BEP shoddy songs).

I never would have thought that the Patriots would want to deal with Haynesworth...

I think people are under estimating how horrible of a franchise the Redskins have become. They used Haynesworth in the wrong spot since day one, he does not have to worry about playing the nose because the Patriots already have the best nose tackle in this entire league in Wilfork. Along with Warren coming back this season this has the potential to be the best d-line the pats have had since the 03 season with Washington and Semour. Not to mention this only cost a 5th round pick.

September 8th. Saints at Packers

Haynesworth is going to look like a scrub if he tries to line up on Jake Long. I feel bad for our guards though. Hopefully, the only person meaner than Haynesworth is Richie Incognito. Haynesworth will probably play 2nd and 3rd downs while the Pats have 4 down, or 2 down with 5 backers.

What's with your epic hate for the Redskins Omnis? They aren't that bad. They have 2 Premiere talents to throw the ball to in Chris Cooley and Santana Moss. Keiland Williams and Ryan Torain can be an effective running duo too. Yes we have an average o-line and an unproven quarterback. But I believe Mike Shanahan will return to a run-heavy offense and we will be beuer this year. With Haynesworth out of the picture the Skins can focus just on football. Our defense isn't that bad either, with the acquisition of Atogwe at free-safety, or secondary has been bolstered. And lets not forget the awesome outside linebacker Brian Orakpo. I like this year's team. If the All-Torain-Vehicle can stay healthy, we'll run our way to victories. But since were in the tough NFC East, I'm saying we go 7-9. Because my opinions about John Beck have changed, he's never really been given a shot, and he was pretty good at BYU, so a possible Cinderella story may be in the making, reminiscent of Kurt Warner.

My uncle is a Giants fan. I think the G-men are meh, but I hate the rest of the NFC East lol. And I think Haynesworth is a loser and hate the rest of the AFC East too, so that's why.

Vikings are going 4-12.👎

Also announced they are moving to Branson, Missouri and joining the National Bingo League.

Especially with no big target like Sidney Rice to throw to.

Chad Ochocinco has just been traded to the Patriots, so it's official, the Bengals will suck big time this year.

Also the Panthers got TE Greg Olsen from the Bears for a 3rd round pick.

Well they had a few good years, but they can't do anything with the Steelers in their division.

In a way they are very similar to the Redskins. We can beat the Eagles, beat the Cowgirls, but we can't beat the pesky Giants. Well maybe this year, but that's what I said last season.

I guessing you will be saying that next season as well.

At least the Redskins will get a few wins in their division, The Panthers will more then likely have none. :indiff:

Panthers are in the NFC South, and I'm not sold on Tampa Bay. They had a good season last year but they had the easiest schedule in the league. So there could be 2 wins right there. The thing Carolina has to do is pick a QB and have him start the whole season. I think that Clausen will start again this year, and that chemistry should become apparent as the season wears on. QB controversies and switching can demoralize a team. I believe the Panthers can pull off 6 wins. Now I watched the Lions last year and must say that they are the hardest working team in the league. I see them as playoff contenders as long as Matt Stafford stays healthy. They have the talent, and they have a young fast secondary. They have the potential, my brother has me sold on this team. I can honestly say, that in games where they were down 30+ points, they clawed back and gave the other teams a run for their money. I would be shocked if they get less than 9 wins. They're that good. Plus even if Stanton goes down, they have Shaun Hill!
