It's doing ok. I've been trying to get it to pass smog since June, I'm not having much luck. The first time, the tranny broke. The second time, it made it through the testing but polluted too much and idled at 1100RPM. I have to have it idling at 800RPM for it to pass. Getting it to do that is proving to be very difficult. It's been at the local Toyota dealer for about 2 weeks and they, the factory trained technicians they are, are clueless as to what's wrong with it. That's real encouraging. ;)

The other problem is it keeps losing clutch fluid. Three years ago, about 35,000 miles ago, I had the clutch master and slave cylinders replaced with Toyota parts. About a month ago they started leaking. These parts are supposed to be good for at least 10 years or 100,000 miles from what I know. So 3 weeks ago I have them replaced again, to the tune of about $300. And guess what? Still losing fluid! I took it back in on Monday and again, they can't find anything wrong with it. I've got brand new clutch master and slave cylinders, a mechanic that says there are no leaks, and yet still the clutch fluid disappears.

Other than that it's doing well. Got new wheels for it a couple months ago, I'm sure you guys saw those pics. New springs and a new alignment are coming soon, as well as a nice camera mount for recording some races. Still deciding what size wheels and tires to use for racing now too. At the moment my priority lies with getting it to pass smog and keep its clutch fluid, though.

the MR-2 is hard to fix because its mid engine and you cant do the same as front engine, thats sucks, my bro use to have a 3000 GT 91 SL and he fix it like every year for $2000 up, and now he fraud it because its making him poor, now he thinks of buying some honda, less insurance and less money to fix when its broke!!!!!!!! just an idea thats all!!!!!!!!

It's not hard to fix because it's mid engined, it's just cursed. :) I have a knack for buying cars that eventually find a way to baffle mechanics.

Motegi dubs? Ha. :) Most likely I'll end up with either 15x7s or 13x7.5s, it's proving to be a very hard decision so far.
