Just sometimes for me...I wasn't aware it was an actual studied phenomenon.

The wiki article is pretty interesting.

I do sometimes but only when it's a nice long one..

...What?

Sometimes. No predicting when. Just like there's no predicting why in the name of trees I bothered to answer this poll.

I get these shivers every now and then. I thought it was because I tickle my butt cheek when I can't seem to go. Anyone else tickle their butt cheeks? Man, it makes the pee just flow right out.

I don't get piss shivers. It feels good to empty your bladder, and you can feel it as it does, but I never get spinal shivers or anything like that.

Never heard of such a thing. Never happened.

Ditto.

I get the shivers before I pee. Then after peeing, I start to feel warmer. But, only on very cold nights. It's like the pee is taking up all the heat in my body which leaves me feeling cold.

Have you ever noticed that?

No, I haven't noticed this before, although on rare occasions I do get brief random shivers but nothing to do with urinating.

I found it on Fark; I don't where Skip found it. With that said, I see nothing wrong going to Wikipedia and searching for more information on pee shivers.

Ya, I do get that. It can come from something as simple as standing up after laying down for quite awhile, sometimes there seems to be no catalyst whatsoever.

I never from relieving myself though.

On the topic of shivering...

what is it called when you stretch out really far (like when your tired), causing most of your body to shake, and leaving you feeling really good, but feeling quite retarded when in public (happens to me and my friend all the time in class)

when this happens to me, my right leg shakes, and my body twist to the side.

I sometimes scratch my butt cheeks, does that count?

Dude I do that! Woot!

I stretch out really tight and my right leg about slaps me in the face.

..this happens almost every time for me. It wierd, I never even thoguht about it. I think it is just from the mixed sensations going through your spinal cord, causing a shiver?

I guess it happens to me sometimes, but I've never really noticed it all too much. I would suppose now that I think about it that the 'shiver' is usually more noticeable when I'm 'dropping a deuce,' as you reach that collective relaxation after the release of the bladder and bowel on the first try. Not to get into the nasty details, but I guess it did happen today after I hurriedly came home after realizing that I had to go to the bathroom five minutes after leaving school... The kind where every bump on the road makes you wish you drove a Licoln Town Car, because the VW was sending back too many 'bad vibrations' to the nether-regions...

What would be interesting would be to find out if it is noticed more when you are standing or sitting, and beyond that, if it depends on how large of a release, not to mention your level of hydration effects it...

...Or am I getting too scientific?

I do it too, and I always looked like an ass in class when I did it. I guess I've gotten used to it, as it happens almost every day. My right leg goes nuts for about ten seconds, but it feels so good after you're done.

...Occasionally I get spontaneous twitches for no apparent reason. I just kinda freak-out for a second, but it isn't always hugely obvious. Its noticeable, but most people think I'm just scratching my head, or I had a really bad shiver or a cough or something...

Definitely not a seizure...

I sometimes just get a spontaneous twitch also. My left shoulder goes up and the right goes down, i feel a weird feeling in my spinal cord, then i get goosebumps. I find it to be a bit nice because it makes me feel cold.
