That I can see, but in comparison to the guy alongside Shaun looks petite. I'm not saying I'd look any bigger and being lean is perfect for the sport but I always figured Shaun was larger than that picture let's on. The only thing I can think is that he's been cycling so hard for so long now that he's practically transformed himself into the leanest thing on the road. 👍

Doing 450lbs (205kg) for 8 reps. With belt and 75% weights because I'm still recovering from an injury and I don't want to risk tearing my healing wound.

I decided not to show you my lifting face though. Be grateful. I'm sure at least @Pako understands.

It's a combination of this and what @Bo said. I am small in comparison to most around me at 170cm and 60kg which is probably about what @Michael88's legs weigh . My mate on the right is about 92kg which makes him more powerful than me on the flat roads.
He made for a good wind break there but on the steep stuff he struggled much more to keep up.

Your pal with the heavier weight might be more powerful on the flat but reach a mountain and you've got it in the bag.

I'm an avid cyclist and I have total respect for the small and light cyclists. I weigh 105kg / 230 and on the flats I'm just as fast as them, but as soon as I hit an incline I suddenly feel like I forgot to hoist my anchor LOL. The small pros just fly away.
I can do it no problem but only the slow and steady way, and oh boy I feel the friction. Also on hot days having the rear tire flattening out from my weight -despite good pressure and using the triathlon handlebar to shift the weight forward - does not help either.

When this happens I always wish my bicycle had additional pedals - for my arms.

40kg is the weight of my dumbbell I shoulder press with one arm to warm up for push presses LOL.

I'm not that strong. Bench press is not my best exercise, I can do around 160kg/350lbs with normal form. Thats the equivalent of two normal men or three women I guess.
I'm only good at dead lifting, incline benches and overhead pressing, I'm pretty average in everything else.

160kg / 350lbs bench might sound like a whole lot of weight for someone who is not training with weights, but for those with multiple years of lifting under their belt 160 really isn't impressive.
Goals for top lifters who do not use performance enhancing drugs and aren't natural freaks:

Bench press: 200kg / 440 lbs
Deadlift (no wrist straps): 250kg / 550 lbs
Overhead press standing (no leg drive no leaning): 100kg / 220lbs
Squat: 200 kg / 440

I doubt I'll ever bench 440, I think my upper arms are too long and create too much lever.
Long arms are good for dead lifts, but for pressing a stocky body with stubby arms is much more efficient.
