Not same city, but same state. Yes, Brazil has a São Paulo state and a São Paulo city. I am assuming, he is from the city, i live in Bauru, which is in São Paulo state, but about 350km away from São Paulo city.

A friend of mine is from there. He's a Kansas City Royals fan, when we first met I asked why he would support a team from Kansas when he was from Missouri.

I know how it feels though, living in Chongqing, Chongqing.

It's common in the UK to have towns sharing their names with their counties; that's the nature of Shires. Flint, Flintshire; Denbigh, Denbighshire are the two counties in my immediate area, but as well there's Wrexham, Wrexham; Conwy, Conwy.

Oddly though, Flint is not the HQ of the Flintshire council. That's in Mold. Moldshire doesn't really work though.

That's not terribly uncommon. My girlfreinds sister can do that with her arms. She can bend her arm from her elbow the other way. It's horrible.
