PlayStation 5 Rumors Latest: Console Reveal Within the Next Six Weeks

You didn't imply it. You outright said it. Unless you meant something else?
Oh I only said that because the one I quoted there said that by buying a console, at least he won't be needing to upgrade any parts on it as time pass by or anything like that compared to having a PC.

New leak hehe, from a reliable dev source supposedly, i don't know..
It says it could go up to 2000Mhz.

I've seen 9 I have seen 11 and I have even seen 13.2 tflops

So do we actually know yet?
Until Sony gives us actual data take this with a grain of salt.

I'll say, that...doesn't really add up with the math. I've gone over several dozen possibilities in my head and this just doesn't work.

60 CUs with an assumed 64 Stream Processors per bank is 3,840 SPs. 3,840 x 1700 x 2 is 13.05; 13.1 if you want to heavily round up. Even if there were 8 CUs and the same (again, assumed) 64 SPs per bank that would then be 4,096 SPs...which would bring it up to 14TF.

Now, I know full well this is RDNA 2 and I'm basing this on what I know of RDNA, but with this in mind...at the very least the core clock on the GPU is too low. It would definitely need to be upwards of 1732 MHz.

Another leak, bah i don't know, posting it just for fun. But id pay 150 bucks more for a pro version like this instead of a 9tf version for sure.

I think there´s at least a possibilty we´ll see something related to GT.

The used SpiderMan to show off shorter loading times recently - I think there´s a good to fair chance they´ll give us a ray-tracing demo and they´ll use GT for it.

Either way I´m pumped.

Finally! Love Cerny talks, looking forward to it. I think this is going to be a landmark generational leap and seen centuries later as the turning point of when consoles got good. Be remembered like Shakespeare's plays. Hopefully they have managed at least 11TF+ (Please be 13.3TF). Heard there was some new black dev kits this month so good that they are going to reveal spec quickly and as planned for GDC instead of keeping us hanging like Nvidia with GTC cancellation.

Storage wise I hope they offer also 2TB and 4TB SKUs and expandable storage drives, 1TB or lower is too little IMO and good only for base SKU. Wonder if they will show cooling solution? Could be quietest main PlayStation yet given likely no HDD and if they use beefy high quality specialised heatsinks and slow spinning large fans. Wonder if they can make it more compact than the PS4 Pro by making it boxy? Will be interesting to see what RAM solution they end up using, might be a PS4 reveal like moment.

Will be awesome if we get glimpse of next-gen GT already showcasing new features rather than GT Sport, a PDI employee has retweeted it. Would be perfect kind of game to show off audio, physics, graphics, controller and loading advancements. Now will have higher chance of new wheels being revealed soon too.

Don´t know if that is even possible if the stick with an internal PSU.

I know having an internal PSU is elegant, but I really think it´s time to get rid of it.

Thanks for the quotes. Up until now I was under the impression the PS5 would not be able to meet the very impressive XBSX specs - now I think the PS5 might even exceed them (?)

Cool.

In the end it´s all numbers of course and not that exciting in itself, but good to know.

Actually more curious to hear about the cooling solution because whatever they did with the base PS4 and the pro does not fly a third time.

Series X may still have slight higher GPU teraflop performance overall, those specs are beast. But Jason also said devs have told him both consoles are close in performance (RTX 2080 level) and it'll be a while before anyone can really say if either one is better than the other since they both accomplish the high performance but in different ways.

Is this going to be streamed elsewhere like on YouTube, or is it just gonna be on blog.us.playstation.com?

Didn’t read all the posts but i believe it’s not going to be anything close to 4K 120hz... it’s either 4K at 60hz (which is still great!) but higher refresh rates will be used for VR with toned down settings. 8k is too optimistic for this generation unless a Pro version is released at a later time for people that can afford it.

Personally, although I consider myself a techie I am still at 1080p on a 55in and I find it good enough. Graphics quality is not that resolution dependent - to me they are all gimmicks. I would find it impressive if it is native 4K at 60hz.

Last but not least I am not sure Sony would over-spec a system only to make it cost more and expects people to change their home theater configs - TVs are one thing, but there are also AVRs, etc..

I can see it now. It's gonna be 5 million gigawatts of power hehe. Oups that's in Back to the future time machine.:D

So that's noon eastern or 3pm in n.a. i forget?

They will probably use GT Sport as a demo in 120fps 4K and show the Dual Shock 5 haptic trigger features with it.

I hope we see the actual system, a 'deep dive' into the system specs although welcome might just be a lot of numbers, graphs and pictures of chips.

After the XBox Series X reveal, this will have to be quite good not to disappoint imho. The XBox looks really good potentially. Specs aside though, and while I don't like the external design of the case, the internals look very well designed.

It will be interesting to see if they tell us everything. ;)

Ever get the feeling that you are setting yourself up for disappointment?
