Aren't those steering wheels too close? I would think some elbow bashing would happen.

I see what you mean by looking at the pictures, they do LOOK too close, but, my friends and I have actually never bumped elbows once. :)

To bnommensen: That is freakin cool man with the 3 seats next to each other. I wish I had more than 1 friend who liked GT lol. :dopey:

You guys got some pretty kick 4$$ setups. 👍 I feel like I have to upgrade now :sly:

Wow vector, that's pretty ghetto looking. But, I think the setup my friend made for us to use is even more ghetto, a small stand with the wheel jammed between two boards on the sides.
Did you mean that the trash everywhere is ghetto, or the cockpit itself is ghetto? My roomate was going to do it too so all my audio stuff wouldn't be crammed to one side of the room, but he hasn't gotten around to it.

What should i start with i only got about 300bucks (canadian)

1.) Get a Driving Force Pro wheel from Logitech
2.) Get a seat from a car (pretty cheap from a junkyard, I've heard)
3.) Draw up a diagram of what you want to do, using measurments from the seat.
4.) Go to home improvement store and buy the materials you need from your diagram.
5.) Plan a weekend day or whole weekend with a good friend and a couple of six packs and get to work. :)

Good luck Drifter 👍

That sits in front of a 42" EDTV plasma...

For those that think plasma burn in prevents you from playing any games... I've played 48 plus hours in 3 days and no burn in... There was a day where we played 12 plus hours straight, no burn in... Once you get to watching a few tv shows, your screen is fresh for another marathon...

Is that one of those VRC's? (Virtual Racing Chassis)
If not, then it certainly looks like one! :P

Dude I got that same bean bag chair and tossed it out because it heats you up in like 5 mins...

Anyway, yeah thats the VRC... The seat is a bit of a hinder once you play 5 or 6 hours in a row... It'll start taxing you but if you play 5 or 6 hours at a time in any chair, you'll probably be taxed too...

The biggest blessing has to be the plasma tho, it dosen't tire your eyes out like a tube tv or TFT... Projectors are nice, but only when they work... I wouldn't mind playing on a LCD but then it'll be smaller and the colors wouldn't be as bright...

I'm actually in the middle of searching for a replacement for the VRC... I didn't intend to play 8 or 9 hours in a row, but everytime I sit down, it just happens to be that long... So a better seat is a must...

Woah there Cowboy! Take it easy! I think someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! :-)

There have been others who have shown and/or indicated that they use a projector w/large screen for playing GT4, so just because this GTP member doesn't post pics doesn't automatically mean they're BS'ing anyone....Of course it would be nice to see pics but it's not required!

And as for the comment about 'age', hell, I wouldn't be surprised if 1/2 the GTP members in this particular forum are just about the same age or a tad bit older (like between 14 & 18) so I don't see how even bringing this has any relevancy? Just a thought though is all!

Oh well, just my $0.02 is all!

Here are some older pictures of my COCKPIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(taken on the week Gt4 came out in NA)

Notice the subwoofer BOX underneath the seat that will also soon have built-in speakers installed on the lumbar region.(didn't have the time to install them yet) This thing shakes the whole freaking house already.

The seat is like new and the widescreen HDTV monitor is on the way... nothing way too fancy though. It will fit on that gap between those walls just right...:)

A lot have changed since these pictures were taken...

To be honest, it does have a "few" extra pounds than I'd like!!! + the cost was way more than I anticipated when I started, but being so anxious to get GT4 after waiting for so long was driving us all into madness... I'm sure you guys can relate. It was was worth though.

in the dark... :D

A lot was already improved but there are still a lot of things to be done, as far as the driving position I think it's just where I want it to be... the seat is even more comfortable than the ones in my car and it also weights less than half as much!!!!

any comments or suggestions are very welcome, good or bad,

I'll have new current pictures soon...

thanks for any input.

Man you guys all have too much money...
I have my lotus steering wheel that goes on my knee and a normal PS2 pad DS2 thingamajig...

I don't know about money, but certainly too much room or too little regard for the rest of the household.

Heck, I've got a decent little apartment, but I couldn't throw half a car in anywhere ... it would look soooooooooooooooo out of place.

Maybe one day if I ever got a dedicated game room.

Here is mine...

Nissan 240sx seat, made of wood, covered in automotive carpet, suround sound with an 8" sub.
