I will have a Geezer racing room open tomorrow (Sunday) morning at 8:30 AM U.S. ET for those able to make it. The Quick Match Exiles are welcome to join the fun.

Car will be Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV Evolution VGT.

@StirlingMoose, hope you are feeling better!
Thanks for the invite, some great racing! Even better to see some old friends too

Look forward to joining you all again.

Absolutely, it was lots of fun. And to be able to race with old friends is always great.

Do you use a headset? The PS4 party chat 8 player limit is a pain, but we usually have 2 parties going, with cross communication between the parties using an app called discord. Pretty unwieldy solution, but it’s the best we’ve got right now.

Cheers!

No, I can't use a headset, as I am very deaf, and wear hearing aids.........:grumpy:

I wondered what all the discord comments were about!

It's been a while since my last post but in fact, not much has happened since. Racing still is restricted to the weekends and sometimes I miss the way QMs were organized - you could practise a car / track combo on day 1 and then just hop in for an hour and a couple of races every day.
So what I try to do is getting the most out of Sport mode with the little time I have.

I noticed there haven't been too many new posts overall here ( thread had slipped down to page 4  ) and my guess is everyone of you has spread his wings to fly into this unbelievable diversity of new GTS threads ... which is a good thing I'd say.

And ... I wanted to thank @kilesa4568 for his good job concerning the GRIP BUG 👍. Hope they get this fixed soon ... and the YELLOW FLAG thing and the PIT REVERSE glitch and the ....

Hope to read from you guys and maybe meet you on track !

The thing that appears most similar to the QMs is your starting position, which might just as well be random! I did qualifying at Brands the other day, not a particularly quick lap, but my first race I was on pole, the second I started 11th

Everybody ahead of me seems to be benefiting from the grip bug too......

Enjoying the 10 lappers still, usually manage to make up 6 or 7 places, even though I rarely use the fastest car or the best pit strategy.

Starting 11th at Brands is not that bad - by the time you approach Druids for the first time you're on 3 often :D.
Good lap at Interlagos btw 👍.

I still can't get used to the waiting between races and keep getting distracted. The most I've done since I got the game is two races back to back. A far cry from the 4 hour QM sessions I used to do. If I'm honest though, my head hasn't been right for any racing. My mother had a stroke Xmas eve and my sister was diagnosed with a pea sized brain tumour the month before. My mother has recovered nicely (still weak on her left side but getting better) but my sisters treatment has us all on tenterhooks. She's got another scan next Thursday so as you can imagine, pretty hard to concentrate on anything else.

I only passed the thread on to MastrGT as I wasn't really involved with the bug itself. It was in much more capable hands than mine so I left them to it. Great to hear that PD spoke directly with the people involved though. They do listen!

That is sad to hear and it surely puts gaming into another dimension.

HOPEFULLY SOON ...

NOT NEEDED ANYMORE !

Hope they both both get well.

Sorry to hear the family news - hope they're better soon.

Thanks for looking at the lap RJ - it's a requirement of another forum that I'm on, where we run Time Trial and then share laptimes. Because of the apparent opportunities to corner cut at Interlagos, we have to upload our fastest lap to Activities!

Mine's nowhere near the fastest, but it's the best I could manage (not my favourite track at all).

Ah, understood. Saw the other comments / commentators - looks like some excellent competition, congrats.

I hate Interlagos :yuck:.

I am very sorry to know about the misfortunes that have struck you. Unfortunately I know those diseases and I know how much pain enters the family that suffers them. I hope that everything can be resolved in the best possible way

Thank you for the best wishes. I appreciate it.

That was my mother's 4th stroke but she's made of stern stuff. It'll take a lot more than that to put her down. This tumour business is a 1st for us all though. Seriously scary and I don't think any of us have had a full night's sleep since it started. I imagine it'll be an all night vigil next Wednesday with the scan on Thursday.

The Interlagos Daily is very similar to your TT :)👍.

Yes, great timing!

Still don't like Interlagos though - typical, my next least favourite (Nurburgring GP) is one of the other Daily races today!

Brands is Ok though - been doing my usual there, slow and steady and make up 5 or 6 places as everyone else runs off track in front of me......

First racing at Interlagos now :nervous:.

To justify this post I'd tell you that racing Saturdays and Sundays was ( mostly ) a pleasure again - its average frequency though still is more than subterrestrial (about 1/10 Hz :odd: ).

Now ... here's something I wanted to show you, guys. It's two late birthday presents. First one is from my sister:

You know that ? I promise I won't make a respective livery. The young guy is me ... in 1964.
Second one is from my boys :

Haven't tested it yet, however, it looks very promising.
Cheers .
