@bone_tone Shame you couldn't find the room yesterday. I've had that situation before where the blue "rooms with friends icon" is lit but when you go to the lobby screen the room doesn't show up. Unfortunately I don't know what the cause is. Presumably you searched for the room by name and that didn't work either. If you like I can open a room sometime just to test out whether this a permanent thing or just a one-off.

Thanks to those who did manage to get in. I hope it was fun - I enjoyed it. I'm going to try to make it a regular thing.

I did everything I could to find it, but no luck! Had my F40 ready and waiting...... (is it just me, or does it feel like the brakes are made of wood on this car?)

Having said that, I probably wouldn't have been on best form, as I was 7 seconds off the pace at Alsace (and suffered from being matched with S/S drivers in the races), finished last in both of the Maggiore 10 lappers :dunce:.... For some reason though I was having great success with the Sambabus at Kyoto :)

Today's no different, 5 seconds off the pace with the F150, started and finished last in both races at Dragon Trail, and then 4 S/S drivers on the grid in the Brands Hatch race!

That caught a few people out. On SH tyres you have to brake very early.

Now I'm feeling like a right idiot - I just looked through my friends list and I can't see you on it. I was sure we were friends. Did you get a PSN message inviting you?

@kilesa4568 You definitely are on my friends list so I don't know why you couldn't find the room. You're using the Digtater account?

In GT6 I kept my friends to a minimum because of the dreaded blue lines, so if any of the QM exiles are not already friends please send me a FR.

I've seen the icon lit up when someone on my friends list is in there so I couldn't understand what was happening. I could see you were playing along with a few other friends from my list but that's as far as I got.

I'm definitely in for the next one. Even if I have to check every room to find you.

Ah, that'll be it then.

No, I haven't received a friend's request, so I've sent you one!

Did you run the race at 8:30 instead of 7:30? I saw your invite was sent at 8:30 when I turned the console on today but I don't know if that was a late start or you were telling me I was late.

That's odd. I sent out a message at about 7.45 and started the first race at about 8.15. Hopefully next week you can join us.

Let s do another f40 race in brands hatch ...even if i spent most of the time playing in the sand and @Nonno Calvy breaking the record of spins...it was fun and a bit challenge

I think @nordschleife51 was the only person to complete the race with his car pointing the right way the whole time. Next time I'll save the replay.

Shouldn’t need the room ID#. When you enter the Lobby selection screen, check the box on the left to “Show rooms with friends only”. The room should then show up. Key point is that you must be on host’s friends list in order to enter room.

We've promised the grand kids a trip to a farm park tomorrow so is there any chance of a rain check on it? I'd love to get some racing done with you again sometime.

Of course. Pretty much going to be a regular deal at that time on Sundays. Plus the room @StirlingMoose will run on Thursdays. Enjoy the time with your grand kids!

Thank you. If I'm honest, I feel honoured for the invite.

The Geezers reputation precedes itself and it's crossed my mind to have a phantom illness to make the race. Thinking of the scowl my 5 year old grand daughter will save for me if I did though has rapidly changed my mind.

Looking forward to the next one.

Hey everybody, I followed your first lobby racing event, been on with the PS4 and here on GTP but actually I was rebuilding my flat after having my kids here for a couple of days, and to be honest, I wouldn't have been in the mood - the F40 is scary :nervous: ...

From late Thursday night until now I work on increasing my sport race count. Limited myself to the slower sprint races ( it's what I'm best in atm ) with the Hippiebus and the Monstertruck. Been quite successful in each and, believe it or not, had my first really good races. Ran one race with the Raptor on Dragon Trail against a Finnish driver which basically was bumper on bumper wheel to wheel for three laps without any contact 👍.
Did anyone of you also notice that enormous slipstream ? Too much of an effect imo, I even tested yesterday on Willow for some slight boost. Up front I got into 3 to 5 tenths of my Q time, smashed it though by 2 tenths running way behind the field, 100 m behind the car ahead. Strange.

Will see what this afternoon has got for me ... tomorrow will see me back to work again  !

PS
Scrolled through the Scapes locations last night and found this Alps / Timmelsjoch route.
My dad ( he died 15 years ago from cancer ) took me to that exact place when I was 10 - just for fun, in winter. if the Nürburgring is the Green Hell, this had been the White Hell, incredibly impressive and dangerous as well. The road was about half as wide as it is today. Well, finally took that Scapes photo, shared it and noticed ( didn't think
of that ) ... today it's his birthday.

Edit a few hours later :
Some really cool and thrilling battles today on Yamagiwa.

FULL FOCUS  ...

I will have a Geezer racing room open tomorrow (Sunday) morning at 8:30 AM U.S. ET for those able to make it. The Quick Match Exiles are welcome to join. @bone_tone and @kilesa4568 , I have sent FRs your way.

Not sure which car yet, but may use the F40 for a couple of races.

Should be able to join you 30 mins to an hour after that - thanks!

You certainly have that truck well sorted! Shame you didn't convert your pole in the race I joined you in...

Nice note, and coincidence, re your dad

Oh, I'm ok with that. I feel quite comfortable and cozy in the DR range I am at the moment :D.

As for that slipstream again : Happened the second time now that I smoked my own Q time by a couple of tenths running way behind the field with no car in sight. If this is slipstream it's a permanent one as soon as there is any car on any piece of track ... and you're not in front .

Don't know if I get to race next week, maybe I return to the livery editor again :dunce: ...

The 'lady with the van' has graduated to GT Sport! Saw her at Willow Springs tonight, using one of her other PSN names - she was on pole position, led the whole 10 laps, and got fastest lap....

She must have had to change her habits, as she has an S SR!

I don't know if anybody else does the 10 lapper, but I can't understand how so many people manage to get pole, lead the whole race, get fastest lap, and win by 20 to 30 seconds over the second place driver - it happens very regularly. They must presumably be running at a DR well below their normal level?

11 races in two months.

All I've been doing is running 1-2 hour endurance races on different tracks in arcade mode for practice. I think I'm up to speed now, judging by my lap times compared to my friends list but I can't stand the waiting between races.

If the qualifying can be run at any time of the day, why do we have to wait so long for the next one? I know you can jump from one to the next with very little waiting but the choice of races is often lacklustre. I'm lucky if there's one race I fancy doing but I know there'll be an extended wait for my next one so I don't bother at all.

Fingers crossed they change the scheduling or add a couple more options.
