I'll gladly try racing you again (if you want me to)

Of course race again. 👍 I was thinking yesterday of not doing the Sunday races anymore, but will try again. It was not just this weeks races it was a culmination of the last few weeks being punted off and like I said in my earlier post, I lost the plot. I apologise for any part I played in the carnage. I watched all the replays and was disappointed with the way I reacted.

Guys this is not just about winning, it is about having fun. It is no fun when someone slams it up the inside taking the grass to get by and pushes you off. Be patient, wait for an opening. If you are going into a corner with several cars in front, brake a bit earlier rather than wiping people out. You will not lose time. I lost the plot on Sunday because I was slammed by the same people that always do it. You are not more of a man if you win or come last. This is meant to be enjoyment for us all. We need to respect each other, we all have different skill levels. Race yes, and there will always be some door handle banging, but don't take silly moves where it could ruin someone else's race. It will be more enjoyable for all if we race hard but be respectful.

You don't get away with that !
The fact that you post here in the QM Exiles thread makes me think that you are at least aware you've been part of the drama last Sunday.
The contents of your post is astonishing though. If I was your buddy I'd say "Yeah, take it pin it to your screen, bro, that's your bible ... and finally start acting accordingly."
Yes, "there will always be some door handle banging", and though I still prefer no contact at all I'm perfectly ok with it and find it enjoyable.
Everyone on the grid made mistakes or poor decisions, and will do so in the future, but I'm perfectly ok with it and find it to be some relaxation from these overly bone dry races in Sport Mode.
However, you've been way off on Suzuka and Nürburgring GP, the two races I have taken part in. Speaking in Sport Mode categories you wouldn't deserve any better than SR E. If your post tells us what you expect from other racers, you should be the first to stick to the rules.
And if you do not, do not wonder about getting payback ( which is in no way great, but understandable at times ).

Found this :

Things happen in real life let alone in this virtual world we race in. We all have different braking points, lines, internet connections, skills, temperaments, controllers, track knowledge, etc etc. Some people are probably also more competitive in nature than others. I may fall into that category

I have been racing here for only three weeks and am confident that no one intentionally tries to take you out. There is always going to be bumping and barging etc, and to be honest its all part of the fun, because you know it is not malicious. Close racing is the best because it is exciting. I try hard not to tag anyone, but inevitably I will, we all will.

Unless someone is being a complete dick, we must all allow mistakes and accept a knock or three. Its all part of this wonderful world of Geezer racing. Any videos or pictures should not try to allot blame or to be seen that way.

This is a good fun racing community and we should all keep it that way

I love it :gtpflag:

To be honest, atm this all reads like one big excuse for your lack of race etiquette.

I'm well aware that we are talking about Geezer races and that I am guest there and that it's probably not up to me to criticize one of you lot.
However, if this is a racing community of trustworthy people, we should take the opportunity to teach each other - and learn from each other.
With best regards, hoping for more Geezer races, RJ.

Of course race again.

Good to hear. I'd love to.

Let's all put it behind us and start afresh. Perhaps putting a little more emphasis and care with the journey to the finish line rather than who crosses it first.

We're all gentlemen (I think) so let's act accordingly in the races. One line change to defend and any pushing wide or bump 'n running, by anyone, you give the position back and try again. You don't see bad blood with those guidelines.

Everyone on the grid made mistakes or poor decisions

I made lots of mistakes that may have looked like a bad decisions. I did say I was race rusty.:D

Great mate  and I agree with all that. What's your racing name by the way?

No excuses bud :)

Digtater. Please don't say I hit you too!

I haven't been doing the daily races and need a lot of sharpening up but that won't take too long with the quality of field in your races.👍

...and feel free to add me. I sometimes do a nice and relaxed lobby race too. No agenda to them so I'm always open to suggestions on what and where to run.

Lost count of who hit who to be honest, Have just added you
I have not been doing the daily races either for a while. I wipe too many people out. Only joking chaps ;) :gtpflag:

Good morning everyone
After a good sleep yesterday....people wake up fresh
To @SteveBeech12 : this relationship started with the wrong foot ( or heavy foot) ...please keep in mind english is like a thrid language for me and i may choise the wrong word to say something different...
I asked @nordschleife51 to join in since gt6 but i m 36years old ...so i didnt come to proove anything only to have fun . In gt6 we ( qm exiles ) used to find a lobby and try one after another until we meet all and race many times we cant do that in gts with the region lobby and rating ( i m from Morocco ) racing with the french account because we dont have psn in my country .... what i want to say it that in daily races i have plenty to chances for heavy fights and i really join you only for the fun and meet new racers
I want to start over but i m still wondering if i want to come back again.....but sure i want to put this behind us and have a new start

On Sunday I was not there and therefore I give a general speech.
From what I have read, it would seem that one commented a D.R. :boggled:
I think it was an exception to the rules of fairness that I have always found in all.
With the Gezzer's running since last September, they are all very good drivers, very correct and endowed with great tolerance towards each other. I have endured in recent months without even a dirty word, even if, sometimes, I behaved like a shepherd in the city.
The Exiles know them from GT6 and I ran with them for a long time, they are all equally good and very correct in all circumstances that may arise in a competition and they too have always endured the old Nonno.
Two Sundays ago at B.H. I kept behind RJ for several laps, I did it fairly correctly, (I think), he was faster than me 1/2 sec. lap but he never attempted a risky overtaking, leaving me the satisfaction of arriving in front of him,
So the group is definitely OK and I mentioned RJ to say that, sometimes, you can and should stay behind, even if you think you are much faster than those in front of you, to leave the fun unaltered.
Winning is pleasant but having fun is more.
The wise Nonno who preaches good and scratches badly .

Been decorating, wheel is in a box somewhere upstairs. It will return and hopefully my performance will too I'm not bad on a controller but there's no feel and cornering is guesswork  to a degree plus there is the advantage of a wheel in chicanes s bends etc don't even get me started about brakes

Are my eyes deceiving me or have we all come to an agreement to try again?

That is if @nordschleife51 asks us back... I think we had to clear the air on this one mate and it looks like we've mostly done that. We've just got to prove it on track that we can behave. I'll understand if you don't want the stress though as you're kind of in the middle of it all and shouldn't have to put up with it.

Was you there too? If so, what name were you using?

I hear you about the DS4.:yuck: When I grow up, I want to be as good as RJ is with his but there's a whole load of growing up left for me to do.

Picking a G29 up next Monday though and I'm dreading the learning curve. I might have to stick with the DS4 for the racing till I get used to it.

I see @PapaGnr following the thread too and have no idea if he was there as well. So confusing working out who's who!

Edit: Sorry. Still haven't finished. I was actually a full second quicker than Mwerte in a Gr1 at Interlagos today. I imagine that won't last much longer.

StirlingMoose gave my son a G25 along with one of those springs. Much better compression at the end of the pedal travel when I put it in but wouldn't it void the warranty?

I'll order one then.👍

If what I've read about the G29 is anything to go by, they've got bulletproof build quality so hopefully nothing will go wrong with it.

I was looking at the T300 for £30 more but knowing my luck, I'd get one out of a bad batch and would then have to go through the rigmarole of dealing with Thrustmaster's infamous customer support. I don't know if it's improved but I'm not willing to take the chance. Apparently the pedals are better (based on peoples opinion) with the Logitech anyway.

Been eyeballing a Drivehub so I can use my G27... :D

And :mischievous:

I've been looking at the GIMX adapter for me olde Logitech DFGT. It's about a 1/3 of the price of the Drivehub.

As I've no real knowledge of either product what catches yer eye about the Drivehub?

That I don't need a PC to set anything up, unless I'm mistaken? I have an old iMac, but don't think it's compatible and that the Drivehub is a plug and play thing. I like it easy. They seem to have made it specifically for consoles.

The emphasis of these lobbies should be to enjoy each others company & the experience of racing Gentlemen & Ladies without resorting to ROAD RAGE.
I absolutely agree - I try to adopt the same approach in the Sport races, but you can't always trust strangers in the same way as you can the Geezers/Exiles mob! That's why the Sunday races have been so enjoyable, the added bonus being that I get an occasional win (not that winning is everything, but it's nice to know I can still do it).
That's my 2 cents worth. Enjoy the races & maybe see you on track?
Look forward to seeing you back with us :)

Good to see that the air appears to have been cleared in the load of posts above too.

Last Sunday was my first race session and I questioned if it was right for me with what I saw too. I tend to abandon races that get that bad as I'm there for the same reasons as yourself. For the good company and some fun. I can't speak about what happened in other races but there was obviously some bad blood carried over from them.

Believe it or not though, the QM Exiles have exemplary manners when we race each other and always observe strict etiquette. Even gifting each other wins when we have an enjoyable race and we'd likely be the same with your group, once we get to know and trust you all. We all make mistakes from time to time, me especially, but we're also honest enough to recognise them and to redress them straight away. I hope that everyone who has a tendency for red mist counts to 10 and remembers why we're actually there. For fun with like minded people.

I can see you've got exactly the same viewpoint as us so I'm sure we'd have good races in future and it should improve dramatically after this clearing of the air. I hope so anyway as I really want this to work.

I'll be there next Sunday and I hope you'll give us another chance and join us.

Looks like the dust has settled and the grass is green again ... on Suzuka  !

I don't have a long Geezer history - it's been only 5 races so far - so maybe I wasn't entitled to play my guitar that hard and heavy. I'm afraid I've shocked some of you people but I'm an honest guy I think, and truth must be said ( sometimes ). I hope I didn't burn bridges.

So, please pay attention, I'm pulling out my violin now ;) :

@Daduce1947 had been one of my first PSN friends, John and me had great QM races, we messaged a lot, and since then, Geezer to me was a synonym for a super cool bunch of people who love to race, with excellent pace and excellent manners.
The same applies to the QM Exiles ( I'm sure ... I know them for some time now  ).
Add this up and you'll have a wonderful large grid of proper racers providing immense fun on track. If this is what we are looking for, let's go on together. I'll be there - whenever I can 👍.

PS
There's many good reasons for "Not name and shame", but it also can be a hindrance when it comes to clear up issues.
I'm far from perfect :D but I'm willing to improve - and I hate to be an annoyance to anyone - so please tell me, just in case.

PSPS
I love these mirrored front onprints like "MOVE OVER" and I've already started to work on some  ...

So if you'd already been to one of those races before, that made me the virgin on Sunday? No wonder I had skinned knees. I got properly :censored:ed! *Rubs arse*

I'm really looking forward to the next one but celibacy is definitely the order of the day.

I miss @Daduce1947 A proper gent.

I had a nightmare last night too. I dreamt @coryclifford bought a PS4 and GTS...:scared:

...another mercurial change of subject..

I've just been reading about all the changes to the daily races. Wow! They really seem to be toughening up on them now so it looks like I'll be able to do them again. I'll be able to get my racing sharpened up a lot quicker and be better equipped for the lobby races. Today is a good day.
