Brilliant job on your 57 there. Proud of ya!
I did a few hundred miles with it yesterday (campaign) and today I'm noticing muscles I haven't felt ache in a looong time. Working as intended there then and great rehab. I tweaked a neck muscle (not too bad) when I tried to catch a big slide though. Arms flailing like a madman.
At the end, I was a few tenths off my DS4 times so it was encouraging but I've got a long, long way to go for consistency. I was exhausted though so I'm going to blame that! I'm still mashing the throttle (à la DS4) and writing cheques my steering can't cash.
I couldn't believe how good the feedback was but I was recognising the signs of trouble a little bit too late. Easy to catch with a DS4, sweat and short breath inducing with the wheel.
Here's something funny...for some... I came home with the wheel about 11am grinning like a Cheshire cat. Started taking it out of the box and then realised, I gave my son the table I put StirlingMoose's wheel on to my son... Tried a deckchair with wood over the arms, couldn't get my stupidly long legs to the pedal. Then the ironing board, same result as it was too low. Ok. Off to the shop to buy a folding table. Got back and found the only way I could drive was in a Quasimodo position. Cramp in 5 minutes so I took the table back, didn't have enough cash for the bigger table so I bought an adjustable laptop stand instead. Had to turn it the opposite way round to be able to have the pedals far enough away but I eventually found a suitable position. Started driving, braking into a sharp turn, I pushed the pedals away from me and couldn't reach them properly. Went back to the shop to buy a rug (I've got laminate flooring) for the pedals to grip, pushed the rug away. Two sided tape ruffled the rug on braking (and left glue on the floor...) so the only way it's working now is to tuck a corner of the rug under the sofa to grip it. Great, I can brake! Oh, hang on, now the rug is pivoting on its single anchor point so I end up driving crooked. Beggars can't be choosers so I'll live with it. Then tried messing with the torque on the wheel as there was very little effort to turn it, changed it to 4 and every time I turned, the whole of the stand went with it. Hit pause, readjust, unpause, table turns, hit pause, readjust... ARGH!!! OK. Torque on 1 and try to steer gently.
Long story short. I need to get a proper stand.
