I try to command a playseat last yeat and end up paying like 60% of the seat prize more just for shipping it to morocco and i got it broken a the end

Ouch! Your shipping costs are intense and being broken when you got it, that must have been heartbreaking.:(

I thought about getting some box steel and welding something up but when I looked online for inspiration, everything looked really ugly. I'd want it to be fold-able too. I've got a friend who powder coats but I think I'd end up with a polished turd so I've ruled that out. Thought about some nice hardwood but then weight would be an issue. The wood would be expensive and a pain in the arse to finish nicely as well.

I'm taking the easy option of the Challenge. (Now there's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.:dopey:) I'll be able to scrape the cash together in a month or so and what I've got now will do me till then.

Maybe I should prostitute myself and speed it up...

I guess you're liking it then?:p

Have you got all the easy to win cars in campaign mode's circuit experience, missions and driving school?

I reckon you'll love the rubber banding in the top pro and expert races. They've turned it up to 12 in GTS.

It's alright. I struggle a bit with new tracks, which is the majority. I'll get there eventually...

I've done all the driving schools, mostly with the controller while waiting for the new wheel to show up. Driving with the sticks, well, really takes away from the whole, driving experience. It kind of sucks, really. And to think I did for almost 15 years before I got a wheel...!

Working on missions and circuit experience stuff. Doing some career races, or league as they call it now. Still haven't got PS+ yet. I want to get a little more comfortable first.

It's a bit crap you don't earn cars in career mode any more. I was shocked when nothing happened after finishing all the races but they're adding more with each update. Perhaps they'll come later. Some of the mission races are good fun though. Especially the endurance events. Good payers too but way off GT6's glut of credits.

How're you finding the physics? I struggled badly at first as there was barely any grip (to me) compared to GT6. Eventually got used to it and then a few updates later, there was loads of grip. Had to relearn the game 2 or 3 times... In hindsight, I wish I'd waited till the game settled down before buying it but I was as impatient as ever.

Looks like you have a good start. Welcome back  !

The physics are a bit off (from GT6) to me but totally fine. Manageable. Easier to learn them than it is the new tracks. With an entirely new set up from game to wheel, I think I've adapted fairly quickly. With the G29 wheel being a descendant of the G27, the transition has gone quickly I guess. Nice, tight new wheel action is kick ass. Didn't realize how worn the eff out the old wheel was until this one. I kind of thought an inch of side to side and up and down wheel slop was normal.

Thanks, Joe. I find myself trailing you and Mwerte and nordschleife1951 and lfm58 by a tenth or two. Not bad for just starting out, I guess.

I knew you'd be doing good 'cos you always had that car handling that pays in GTS 👍.

They took me a while and I had a real nightmare trying to get Interlagos down. That first corner was a PITA for so long. I clicked with Maggiore pretty quickly though so I ran a shed load of endurance races to get a handle on the physics. I think it's better than GT6 now so I must be making some progress.

I was shocked how good the feedback is. Very intuitive and great fun in cockpit view but it's saying a definite "no!" to my over driving. Drifting is tragically bad now (nonexistent) and I'm catching one slide in 50. Struggling to react quick enough but I guess it's to be expected this early on. For a change, I've got a valid excuse for being slow.

...and months of learning to be done on it.
I've been ''learning'' since 2012 :crazy::lol:

I had no chance of any serious learning without a proper stand (too wobbly) so I took the plunge on the Challenge seat a lot earlier than expected. I'm calling it my rage purchase.
I think we all go through that stage. I started with my T500 set up on one of these..

...it did not end well :guilty:.

We're not eating next week but I'll be too busy to eat anyway.
 Eating is overrated anyway.

My passenger seat from the 94 Civic race car. The pedals are the only thing stationary. Which is fine until I get a little crazy and the table is over there and my seat is crooked and too far away. I love beer. The heat register is right where the engine in a car would be for my LHD drive self. Adds to the realism sometimes. I love beer.

You should connect the vents up to an air conditioning unit, it would be like a real car then :)

I've seen some of your times on the track experience - looking good!

Don't know whether anybody from this group has run the Bathurst race today with the Isle of Man Subaru, but it looks like lots of people didn't realise that BoP was off.

I ran 3 races there, beating A and S DR drivers who presumably hadn't dropped the weight and upped the power - had a 4600 point boost to my DR, pushing me into A.

Back to B with a bump tomorrow no doubt.....

I can relate to that. If I was in a real (RHD) car, the pedals and wheel are on the passengers side. Couldn't cope with any more. That chair looks perfect for a long session.

Subliminal messaging on the loving beer?:D

Can't believe I missed that. Chucked the Bugatti (and stand, and pedals...) around for a few laps then rage quit.:grumpy:

Nice job spotting the BoP. Have they done that before?

@Mwerte
Hey Reda, could you improve on your Mt. P. lap later last night or did I beat you this time :scared:.
There's been two or three tenths more, but I just couldn't string the perfect lap together.
Good practise that run, and not the worst of all cars.
Slowly moving on to the faster vehicles 👍 ...

Nice job Bone Tone!
I missed the chance, I started late and at dinner time I stopped without competing.
It took me a while to understand that we could intervene on weight and power and distribution.
I had to commit to tame the car, rather difficult to drive.
Then I had the misfortune to see that I was close to that devil of MWERTE.
At one point there was only 1 tenth and I continued to turn but shortly after that malefic has lowered by another 4 tenths and I gave up, throwing in the towel.
I do not know how it went to end and if then also intervened RJ lowering the times, I was already consoling my soul defeated with good Chianti :D

However, the Exiles group is completing, another devil (CC) and two new G29 have arrived. Very well
When you have taken practice with the steering wheel tell me how to adjust the three settings, in these months I have come to put 7/7/3 (4). It's a bit "hard" to shoot but I like it enough.

3 settings? I thought there was only 2 to adjust, torque and feedback. Does that mean sensitivity is adjustable for wheels too? I'm such a n00b.

Chair arrives between 11.30am and 12.30pm. Currently sat twiddling my thumbs.

That's what I thought too.

I've been doing some google-fu to find out and keep seeing only 2 settings mentioned. The torque makes sense as the higher it is, the harder it is to turn, as in weights up, but the feedback doesn't make any sense as 1 is supposed to give the most feel. Eh!? That's gotta be backwards. I had it on 10.

It might have been pre-updates though so I'm looking for something more recent.

I finally made the plunge into GT Sport Tuesday. I still have aways to go before I could be competitive but I did dip my water in a Gr4 race as a test run.

The good news was that I started on pole being over two seconds faster than everyone else.

The bad news was that the Megane behind me passed my Viper before T1 as though I was standing still. I was keeping pace behind them getting adjusted to online tire wear and fuel when all the cars suddenly went off course on screen. Thought I had disconnected and yet, I was able to go on. Technically, I won with cars somehow crossing the line behind me but I guess I have to start fiddling with my internet settings. :grumpy:
