I did a search but couldn't find any posts on rally settings...

Is there a general guideline to rally settings anywhere?

Funny you should ask... I just made a quick quick quick one here...

http://www.gt4tuneshop.freecwh.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=634

It's still a work in progress, so people may also have input and things they disagree with... but over all, I find that at least the things in this link "appear" to be true... Later Ed

He's not looking for one car, he's looking for a general guide for tuning rally cars... Once again though, nice try... 👎

im talking about u

You may be talking about that guy, but you are missing the whole point of the topic. The topic is for generic rally settings. For those who struggle with understanding english, that means the settings that can be generally applied to all rally cars that will improve their performance.

I guess maybe there should be a suggestion to read AND understand the stickies.

In reponse to the actual topic, i can't really help with settings because i found the rallying very annoying (esp Hard Grand canyon and ice stages). I found the best methods were to just learn how to wall ride (hint: hit the walls with your tail first and you won't get a penalty) rather than change the car settings dramatically. Frustrating primarily because in other areas within the game it is possible to complete by driving better without reverting to cheating - hence giving a sensation that you are actually improving as a driver.

I wouldn't say that the ability to understand english is at all racially related. The ability to comprehend the written word usually comes down to a long list of other attributes, race is not prominent. Perhaps in future you should both read (an ability which you profess to have) AND understand (an ability which at times seems to be lacking) a post before you reply. Best bet if you are having troubles is to read the whole post once - and if something is biting you about it - read it over, and if it still biting you, then and only then should you throw back a reply.

OK, first you guys come down on me like a ton of bricks for making this post, then you all go so far off topic *****ing at each other about whos right or wrong... Who's wrong in here...

djaft3rb3ats, you're right, I want general rally settings, I did a search and the only settings guidelines I find are for drifting and road racing...

And Ezz777, I don't like cheating, I want to win the races the way they should be run, so no wall riding or funny tricks...

Anyway, Perhaps an admin could lock this, but in doing so give me a link to a thread that may have these settings. If not, will someone please give me a hand here...

Canadian Speed, thanks for that link, I'll have a look there... EDIT: Checked it out, thenks man, gonna give this a try...

You got a PM with the info from the link :) ... Later Ed

P.S. I never came down on you bro, I think you should be able to ask any question you'd like and get a straight up answer to it... sorry if it appeared to be you that was being targeted... this little thing has nothing to do with you... 👍

Dude, it wasn't you, C Speed... it was more aimed @ djaft3rb3ats for his "are you serious" comment... He didn't read that I did say I did a search, and it wasn't about any specific car, just a guideline to work with...

understood, my fault. i would just like to express the fact that i WOULD be better to post the car u want rally settings for, but if u wanted jsut a GENERAL tuning guide(line), then my fault at my harsh (tone), if i may.

Back to topic, if you or anyone else can beat the rallies (specifically the grand canyon rally and the ice ones) on hard without the odd wall ride, then all power to you. The problem i found was that apart from some general softening of the suspension (for traction), a turbo upgrade (for power), there wasn't much that i could do to improve my times (except to wallride). I hate wallriding as much as the next guy, but on rare occasions the game's irratic AI is quicker than me, and no degree of upgrades or tuning will help.

I guess when you are sitting at 98.8% complete with just these annoying rallies to go, you may change your views on wall riding.

agreed, if u can be like the ai and make some sexy ass drifts around the corners, then ima call u rally king =) 👍 cuz i sure as hell cant do it. for me, the wall is my friend, especially in rally races.

im only 66 percent done, haha

I agree. I couldn't do much better either. I thought i just had too much weelspin, so i am just wall riding.
I too, would be interested to hear any general setup strategies to help with the handleing of the rally cars.

OK well, I went with a few of the settings I got from Canadian Speed and things are looking good. I'm rallying the latest Celica GT Rally car with a turbo upgrade and tuning, I've beat almost all the hard rally's without any wall riding so far... I've won the Escudo and everything... I'll beat Grand Canyon hard tonight, judging by all the other hard rallys it won't be too difficult... If I do, you can call my Rally Queen. hehe

that's what we all thought... let us know how you do. How did you go in the ice rallies?

Not yet, I still need practice on Ice Rallies, didn't like it too much in the licences, so I'll prolly leave that till last, for now I'm perfecting my rally driving... I managed to take the Escudo around the Swiss Alps without any 5 second penalties.. Nearly lapped the Subaru Rally car too.
