Red Dead Redemption - PS3, 360

57 Missions, 18 Strangers (curiously one doesn't count), 14 Outfits, 20 different (split 8,8,4 in the regions) Bounties, 6 different minigame types won, 5 different job locations, discover all 94 areas and complete all 4 challenge sets. I think that's just about everything except 5 rare weapons, 7 gang hideouts and 13 safehouses. You can get a checklist if you link to the social club and head on there but mine never updated so I just did the stuff manually and got my 100%.

I have done everything but all of the outfits, I didn't know they counted towards it:idea:

If you want to make it easier aswell, instead of going to all the locations you can just buy and use very location map from the in-game shops.

I have done that but it still says found 93/94 area, and not only have I bought all of the maps but I have been all over the place riding and such, it must be a glitch on mine. I had something similar happen in Skate 1, I was going to get all of the achievements and it wouldn't give me one even though I had done what it was asking to do, annoying as hell

I finished the game and trying to do the Social Club Challenge: Pike's Basin but can't seem to get it activated. When I get there, talk to the rancher and start killing 3 guys in one Dead Eye burst and get nothing. Is it a glitch???

I don't know what the deal with the Pikes Basin challenge is because I have done it three times now and I can't get it to count for my social club challenge either, its starting to be irritating to say the least.

I'm getting really frustrated with this game to the point I don't even want to play it. It seems no matter where I am I randomly get attacked by a cougar or pack of wolves and wind up losing everything I had been collecting. It would be understandable if I was in an area where they are actually found, but I'm getting attacked by a cougar in the middle of Mexico.

Try logging in Social Club website and see which location you haven't been to (it will be marked by a all black circle)
The first time I play, I also only got 93/94 even though I bought all maps. In my case, Tanner's Reach was the one place that appear I haven't discovered. The second time though, I bought all maps and got the trophy (discovered all locations) right away. It must be a glitch.

The Social Club has always been pretty broken, it never updates regularly and reliably.

Side note, my wish came true and there's an expert only free roam! Life is good .

True, it won't be exactly up to date but after a day or two they will show you what you've done (beside stranger quest, outfits and challenges of course, these still not sync right)

Mine said I have 0% since I had the game, I've had 100% for about 2-3 days now. It's literally never updated and I've been linked since MCLA, re-linked a few times, until just now when I checked and it's finally updated to 100%.

I finally got mine to 94/94 locations, don't know how but I was just riding along and it just started autosaving and then my achievement popped up, I didn't enter a new area either. I have 2 outfits left and then its 100%.

Just got to the point where you switch to Jack, you would think things would change at least a little after 3 years, including his voice!!!!!

I now only have to do all of the us hideouts in a single day to unlock my last outfit to be 100 percent! Anyone have a list of where all the us hideouts are at? I know I played through them all in the story but I can't remember where they are all at. The only achievement besides the MP ones ( which I won't get because I hate the MP in this game ) is to knock someone out in melee in every saloon. I did it one night but it didn't give it to me, so It looks like I have to do it again.

I don't think it's ok because others may have also done it, I know I'd be really annoyed at hearing that because I'd then know there's a huge twist and it wouldn't take a genious to work out what.

Some people have dropped things that certain characters say or do, but nothing quite as obvious as what you said though. Perhaps it's obvious to me because I know it, but better safe then sorry 👍.

MrsCracker bought me this on Friday. I had a good thrash of it over the weekend and absolutely love it. I've always enjoyed the GTA games but i'm not a fan of westerns so was in two minds whether to get it or not. I'm so glad the Mrs made my mind up for me 👍

The story line is great and the cut-scenes are an improvement on the usual GTA stuff, really well voice and CGI acted as well as directed.

I've not got too far into the story yet, i'm having too much fun hunting and doing the Stranger sub-missions. Does anyone know if you can switch off the 'skinning' cut scenes as i'm getting bored of seing them over and over again?

You can't cut them off but if you get your horse's left side right over the animal and get off the horse and right back on it you will skin the animal without the cut scene:tup:

What am I doing wrong?

I cannot get the final Sharpshooter Rank (10 - Disarm 6 bad guys without reloading or changing guns) despite trying over a dozen times. The stupid guns (22 shot lever action, 12 shot lever action) aren't playing nice. Even though I don't reload, somehow they reload and the count resets.

I stay in 'zoom' or aim mode the entire time and somehow the count resets! What? How's that f'n possible?

You can't holster the weapon either manually or automatically, if you do that the gun reloads and therefore the challenge will reset

Re-read the last line in my post. I stay in aim mode the entire time, and when I check the count at times, it sometimes goes back or stays at zero.

I had a problem with mine holstering the gun when there was no reason to and I did the following to complete the challenge on the first try.


Grab a gun and fire off all of the ammo but one reload worth, then go to thieves landing and go to the saloon and duck behind the bar. Make sure you have medicine and chewing tobacco or some moonshine to restore your deadeye meter. Pull our your gun and point it at someone and when they draw on you go into deadeye and target the gun, not the hand but the gun. After that there should be several people drawing on you and just repeat, they also pick the gun back up. I don't believe there is a time limit like some of the other ones because it took me about 3 minutes to dom but after trying and trying I did it this way without a problem because he can't reload because there isn't enough ammo to reload the gun

Got the SS Rank 10 by shooting those Native Americans during the ambush with the coke addicted doc. But, I have a new problem.

How do I kill a bear with mele knife? Jebus, man. If I try to kill one, two more show up before I can kill the first! I must have died 30 times. Got fed up and quit. Can I soften up the bear with a few shots before killing him with a knife, or do all the damage must come from the knife?

Oh, and how do I make 'tonics?' Reached Survivalist Rank 10.

Yeah, I just got the rank 10 and the message popped up I can create 'healing tonics' with the flowers and plants I collected. I never 'info' the plants before now and most do have some sort of healing power. I also looked at the 'blackmail' photos for the first time. Funny stuff!

As far as the mele bear, I did a search on YouTube and learned I can soften up a bear with a few shots first. Wish I knew that yesterday. That could have helped me a lot.

Going to play it now and see how well I do.

Funnily enough once I unlocked that challenge a bear appeared on my ranch, I just got it in a corner on the fence and kept stabbing it.

I played a couple of the co-op campaigns last night. I was surprised they are only 4 player co-op.

Saying that, can you think of many major titles of the generation with more than 4? Even games largely centred around co-op rarely exceed 4. I don't really understand it, but for that reason I'm not shocked at it. I still haven't played them yet as I'm waiting for a buddy to get free before we do them together, how are they?
