I have a car pack that is an addon to the entire mod, which contains my BMW 750iL, Merc E500, Impala SS, Impreza WRX and Legacy from Rally World, RS2 and S65. Some are incomplete but all are very easy to mod yourself. PM me if you want a link since I can't post them publicly.

I would like those too :) PM sent

Nope, it will be a track (hillclimb) like any other too.
Trying to get the best out of my first project like this, with some help from really cool guys. :)

Ok here's the deal, I'm still not happy enough with rFactor open wheels mods, for GT cars I use GT3 and feels great but with open wheelers still have to find a FFB I like.
I guess the main problem here is control.ini file most mods don't include one, you have to work on your own which is a PAIN.

So if you have a DFGT I ask you what's your favourite open wheel mod and please share your control.ini settings.

I've gotten back into playing rFactor again. I reminded myself of just how brutal racing the Serie Internationale du Mans mod can be. So I went back to EnduRacers. I tried to download the Service Pack 2, but when I tried to open it, my Norton Antivirus kicked in and investigated the file. So I will have to try to download Service Pack 2 again from a different site.

To try to get into painting cars, I downloaded a few templates from EnduRacers on various cars. For as long as I've wanted to paint up cars, I have NEVER successfully made my own designs. It was maybe only once when I actually succeeded making my own standalone cars back in the Sports Car GT days. The only car I really modified paint-wise was simply changing the color of one of the rTrainer cars from white/orange to white/blue. This just really pains me that I've never actually painted up cars for racing games considering how much of an art person I am.

Let me just say again- rFactor is a tremendous game. It really took what "Sports Car GT" brought and made it multiple times better. And really, it was us modding people who made SCGT even better than what that game was when it first came out. I missed out on the EA Sports F1 games of 1999-2002 (or whatever the span). So without hesitation... if you're considering getting rFactor, get it. Only reasons not to get it is if you either don't like racing games or don't have a PC capable enough to play rFactor.

That is all. Thanks for reading.

I'm not having any problems with the skins. All I am saying is that I just have never made any skins.

[UPDATE] I decided I'll stay with the Service Pack 1 and not go with SP2. Sure, I'll miss out on an enhanced experience, but after the whole incident I suffered last night, I'd rather just enjoy what I have at present.

All I can say is please, pleeeeeeeeaaaaase make sure the Armco (if there is any) works, two awesome hill climb tracks (Project Kaido's Akagi Mountain and Shomaru Pass) were ruined by barriers that would either destroy the car at the slightest touch, flip the car over, glitch it through the floor or simply fail to stop it from flying right off the side of the mountain. I can't even begin to think of pushing hard on Shomaru Pass mainly because I've only finished it about five times (so I'm very unfamiliar with it), the rest of the time I've accidentally tapped the barrier and had a massive accident or something. It's great apart from that but it doesn't look like they'll be fixed.

I think point-to-point courses are by far my favourite thing to drive on, I don't really know why but I presume it's because I prefer tight, technical stages to most circuits, you rarely get rally stage-style circuits after all.

Anyway, enough rambling, what I'm saying is I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with and I can't wait to blast up/down/around it in a Z-car or N2 Levin or something.

Have you ever tried the Targa Florio?

Thanks!

Well, the armcos I use now work like they should, if I have to replace them, I'll make sure they work properly too and if I can only achieve this with small invisible barriers. I hate that myself.

Just one thing, please don't expect something on the level of Shomaru etc.
So far it's a pure Bob's Track Builder project with some 3D models made in SketchUp. It's also the first ever track I made (make lol, still in the works), so it's far from perfect.

I have a question about skinning. I followed the skinning tutorial I found at rFCentral, which says to create a single .dds file and then duplicate a .veh file, assigning it to use that .dds as a default skin. The problem is that in the mod I am using, each car has multiple .dds files, so I either pick just one, or assign them all somehow and I'm not sure how to do that.

The multiple DDS files may be for things like the window or the driver's suit and/or helmet.
There should be notes in the veh that explain which is which.
Can't remember off the top of my head.

Thanks for those replies. I think I can sort out the issue once I look at the original car's .veh file.

Can someone please help me with one other issue? I just cannot seem to get rid of a 'dead zone' in the very center using my G27 wheel. Technically it's not a true dead zone, it's just that I cannot get the car to continually steer in a straight line if the wheel is near centered because the feeling is very much reduced in that region, and the steering is both loose and very sensitive at the same time. This is really messing me up when I approach corners and on long straights. It throws off my corner entry and I am really struggling to be consistent in how I approach apexes.

I am using the Real Feel plugin, and here are my wheel settings:

Force Feedback Strength: 46%
Steering Force: 100%
Steering Damper Saturation: 0%
Steering Damper: 0%
Jolt Magnitude: 50%

That makes my wheel act real crazy. I think with the Reel Feel plugin you have to use positive values.

You don't have a loss of sensitivity at center position? Maybe it's the mod I'm using.

Building again by GTR4U user renntom, amazing stuff!
Had to rebuild the complete area there, tons of work but worth it x1000!

I also have a pretty well known modder who wants to rework the materials and some of the collision boxes for me once the track in BTB is finished. Dunno if I should name him already, so I'll be quiet about that for now, the track might be in a pretty decent quality though once it's finished.

I haven't ever played rFactor but I do have a question about of of the mods that are for it.

Does anyone use the pro2/pro4 truck mod, and is it pretty much a non played mod or one of the ones alot use?

I have always been a huge fan of short course, and no one makes a decent game/mod so far that anyone really plays and it would be nice to find one.

I have been fooling around with FFB settings and finally found one that works for me. I have also been trying to learn how to trail brake. I'm starting to feel comfortable doing it but I still have some work to do.
