UI will be the mod you start the game with. If you like a specific mod's UI, quit the game with that mod active and then restart the game and pick what mod you want to use.

Thanks guys, I'll have to give it a try. And I'll be sure to download that Brumos Spyder later, great work!

*sigh* Does anyone know a better Video capture software for a low-end computer like mine? I finally got the 2011 Peugeot 908 and its turned out to be a massive framerate killer. When I tried to record the replay with fraps, it got worse. Its absolutely tiring with it skipping so much and I've about had it.

Is there a reason the AI are killing me on just about everything? I have them at the highest difficulty I could get (NAGT mod, if that matters) and on Mosport, I did a 1:24 in the Whelen Corvette and pole was a 1:20 by an AI in a Porsche..

rFactor is coded to suit 2005 pc's and use simplied AI physics to save some FPS. From default AI cars have a not so high "refresh rate" on what's happening on track. So they tend to crash into human player. With nowdays pc you can increase these values without many problems and have good AI. But you need to know HOW. To enjoy this game properly you have to learn how rFactor file structure works.
From F1classic, tutorial section:
AIMinPassesPerTick=3 // minimum passes per tick (can use more accurate spring/damper/torque values, but takes more CPU)
This value in the .hdv file is important because it means how often the AI gets updated on the track, not only more accurate physics but they also seems to recognize the player more, so you can remove that idiotic drone feeling they have toward the player. I raised to 10 and it's better now. You can try higher values if you want. It doesn't seems to be CPU heavy. Please note: it will cause miss matches. Use it for offline only.

AI Brake_Power Usage="0.99000" // Fraction of theoretical brake power that AI attempt to use (can be overrode in HDV)
Also reduce this value in .plr and eventually in .hdv. This will prevent AI to bump your back while on heavy breaking before the hairpin. Reduce it to 0.95000 they won't go much slower really, they'll just brake as they should when they are not attempting a pass.

AI Mistakes="0.00000" // a range of (intentional) AI mistakes from 0.0 (none) to 1.0 (sometimes). Anything above 1.0 multiplies the frequency
Then raise this value to 0.2 at least. If you keep it at 0.0 AI will never miss a corner or a brake zone.

After these tweaks you can experiment with AI agreession value and see what works best for you. I'm using 15 % now. Hope it helps.

Idea: If there is an increase of Gtplanet rF users we could open a couple of new threads that specifically talk about something : rF Physics, rF AI, rF FFB, rF skinning and painting, etc... so we don't mix too much info that may confuse newbies.

Anyone know of any mods that have the Viper included in it?

Edit: Just remembered the NAGT mod has a Viper in it. Wondering if there are any other mods.

G.T.Ace, any shots of the F430 GT2 car.

Had a pretty busy week, so couldn't really progress. Might do some more tweaks later though. Have a problem with the windshield banner and I cannot change the textures for the helmet and driver for some reason, still trying to figure that out.

Can you convert it to rFactor 2 once finished? :sly:

No idea how.

EDIT:

Helmet works finally, you have to select it manually though in the driver settings.

Well, let's get organized and do it. If we can find a server we can adjust to its track/mod requirements, we are talking "fun" here. Eventually we can formalize something. I have my old PC, not sure if it makes the cut as a server, but if needed we can try and set it up if I am helped. We can't just talk about it, we could be having some fun NOW.

PS; this site invited me some time ago, it looks like they have room to grow. I will contact them and get back to you, please research as well: http://www.simracers.pl/

I plan on running a car or two in the next RDLMS next season.
Just waiting announcement.
Would anybody else be interested in sharing a car?

Voltaic
I might be, depends on when it is held. What car will you race?

Whatever the majority wants.
I was thinking we could field a 997 and a Ferrari if we could get enough people to drive.
