Can you guys tells me how to install this mod? I haven't played Rfactor in quite some time and I seem to have forgotten how to install mods properly :dunce: I DL'd the DRM mod and then extracted it and tried copying it to the game data folder, but this didn't seem to work. I've also tried a few other things without any success.

Anyway, thanks a ton for any help :) This mod looks like a blast!

Just open the zip file and drag-drop the contents to the respective folders, i.e. /gamedata/vehicles/DRM Revival. You can also extract the archive to your rFactor root folder, a bit more risky.

Ok, thanks a lot! 👍 I had a feeling I might have to do something like that, but I wanted to make sure before getting myself into too much of a mess

Depends on what your PC is, Rfactor is a fairly old game and does not require a powerful computer to run, though you will need something half decent to get it running with nice graphics it is nothing compared to most modern games.

I want to mention how useful is this thing in rF:
Auto Detail FPS
This option, when toggled on, will adjust the level of detail in rFactor in order to maintain a minimum frame rate value. The number that is displayed when this option is selected is the minimum desired frame rate.
My notebook screen has a maxium frame rate of 60hz so if I set the minimum value in 60fps, I have a consistent frame rate all the time with the game automatically (very slightly) reducing the level of details in order to keep it going at my desidered "speed"
I wish all the games have a feature like this!

Oh ok.

So look I've never played PC sims before but this thread has convinced me to have a go.

What would I need to get started on rFactor and where do I get mods from?

How much are the PC upgrades ( we just run a Viglen on XP) and the like, basically just give me a Dummies book-style guide to this whole thing.

Get the mods here, you have the best ones

I wonder if anyone here watches or participates in the Gentlemens Racing Club Touring Car Championships. Their 10th season is just around the corner, and I hear they plan on sending rFactor off with a bang by bringing back a car lineup that they previously used that gave them one of the most competitive seasons in recent times.

Season Info

Maybe we can have a team or two representing :gtplanet: entered? :D

I'll read up on it. Time permitting, It might be a lot of fun.

I tell you what, drive the 935 from the DRM Revival mod round Virtua_LM's '79 Le Mans.

Best thing I've ever drive on a sim.

I am having one problem with the DRM Revival mod, though, for only roughly half of the BMW 320s do the textures load. The others just appear as the grey temporary car. :(

Try to reinstall it. Do you have the other older DRM mod installed? I am not sure they can co-exist.

Well it overwrit the old DRM mod. I'll have a look and maybe reinstall it.

It should be. I can tell by just watching it.:D They have two divisions and have their races alternate every other Monday with Division 1 having their round one week and the Division 2 do their thing on the same track the week after. They do their races in the Evening, UK time so that'll make it a afternoon affair for you if you plan on competing in it or watching it live. I haven't signed up for their website yet, but if I did I would inquire if they would be willing to see if there would be interest in a similar series for this side of the pond.

I can't get enough of the DRM Revival, got most of the DRM tracks now aswell, thanks partly to some from the GP79 track pack. My fave mod ever.

Here's a couple of vids I made, make sure you watch them in 1080P 👍

^ Nice mod indeed, how do you feel the FFB there?
I'm using Real Feel and LEO now, unfortunately some mods doesn't support them properly so I'm looking for a decent control.ini setup to use with these mods. Any of you running without real feel?

I run both Leo and Real Feel, and for almost all mods FFB is awesome. This mod has really good FFB.

Guys, whenever I try to load up a track, the same loading screen appears.
And then the game crashes.
I just spent forty bucks on this, WTF is happening?!?!?

@ gogarts
could be a graphic card issue, you can try to ask help here at rfactor general support you should post your PC specs and a screenshot error, also try to add further details if you can. You can also try here ISI forum technical support. They should be able to help you but please be more detailed as possible. Good Luck!

@pay FFB doesn't feel exactly as GTR2 but I feel kinda close now, I'm adjusting values to increase the response of rear wheels, still some work to do, sometime FFB become too heavy but I feel I'm going in the right direction, thanks for the tip! If I'll find a great FFB I'll post my settings.

Yes, its become heavy sometimes, in some mods work exactly like GTR2, if you spot on please share. 👍

I don't think it's a specs issue because it has been working fine for the past two or three weeks.
Whenever I try to enter a race weekend or test session, regardless of the track, the loading screen will show that I'm trying to load Virtua_LM's Sebring Modified course, but after the bar loads ~85%, the game will crash and a screen will pop up that says "rFactor has encountered a problem and needs to close" or something along those lines.

It doesn't make a difference what mod I try to run, the demo/trial version has worked flawlessly.
I think it may have something to do with one of the mods I've installed...
I'm not sure which one or how, that's just my suspicion.

Really never happen to me, its strange.
At that percentage rfactor start load the cars, try remove that Sebring track, check your folders, and the one sure works is a fresh install.

Yep from what I read it should be a mod related issue, with rF multiple installations will help, you can use one for testing new mods, stuff and one for playing.

Talking about the FFB I wasn't able to create an overall control.ini file working for all cars, I like the way it feel now but I need to optimize it for every single car to achieve the best results, not so plug and play for most users I guess.

Have you not tried Real Feel or Leo FFB? Them two together give you brilliant FFB.

Yes I did but SimBin created awesome FFB settings, still prefer them than Real Feel and Leo, altough they are good too. I have no problem to create a new control.ini file for every car I want to drive, in about 10 minutes I'm ready. But it couldn't be so easy for other users, you know that's why I think I'll not share it. People have to know what to they are doing when tweaking the control.ini and I don't want to complicate things even further. But I will use it, no doubt.

If someone is looking for a FFB tutorial with Real Feel and LEO you can try this one.

Guys total noob here! I'm getting my new pc on Monday and most definitely will be getting rFactor. I've been looking at the enduracers mod and was wandering wich mods would be good ones to get? Also how do I install those mods and where do I get them?
