This might be a dumb question, but would you guys reccomend this? I played the trial that came with my G27 and it was an absolute load of garbage, and it seems that the full version is quite popular, so I was just wondering.

Thats what I thought. The Trial sucks! The full game is amazing with the right mods.

The stock settings for wheels are awful. The Force Feedback for example is set backwards, so the feedback works in the wrong direction. But if you have rFactor, a wheel, then download the endurance series mod and you'll be hotlapping for countless laps! All you need to do with your wheel is set the feedback in the other direction so it works correctly and you're off! 👍

I did some night-time hotlapping at Laguna Seca myself just now with the Prodrive Aston Martin DBR9. The tail got happy in some places, and in other places my entry was too fast, making me miss the apex. I'll upload the hotlap some time tomorrow, but I definitely want to share the lap. The DBR9 sounds just incredible, and redlining the thing and then pulling the little plastic sequential shifter on my DFP feels so good! :lol:👍

Seriously though, DAT SOUND :drool:

That's due to how the FFB in Logitech wheels are designed and not a fault with the game, you just have to set the FFB strength to a negative number in-game and you're away laughing.

I never had to go through the same process in F1 2010, though. Neither Dirt 3. But Dirt 3 is the biggest joke i've played on my PC so far and doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in here. Might be related to how these games recognize the FFB signal from different wheels.
 
OK, pre-season for CMS is this weekend on Sunday. Qualifying begins at 2:25 EST.
Hope to see some of the guys there. I'll be there along with Jav and hopefully Blaze.

We still need to figure out strategy and whatnot. Anybody else want in?
 
Speaking of Le Mans-styled virtual Sportscar racing, RaceDepartment will be holding their 3rd running of the 12 Hours of Le Mans on February 11th. Maybe you guys can enter that race under the GTPlanet banner? Besides, it's a good way to get your toes in the water for a possible try at that series for next season. :)

I know we have enough people for at least a one car team.
I'll do it if you guys are up for it.

EDIT: That series looks perfect for us! When S4 comes around, we should be ALL over that.
 
Those drivers are some of the best in the world. I would start practicing now for everyday!!! Haha and for next year! But defo do it. I'll tune in and cover it on my forum, and my forums twitter account. I'll be rooting for you guys!
 
Hi, i've been looking into the world series race & noticed you have to pick a number, i was wandering how this works as the cars already have numbers on. Do you need to create your own skin for the car?
 
Does anybody have an idea of what are the best settings (sensitivity etc) for using a DS3 in rFactor? It's way too messy at the moment, cars are incredibly twitchy, especially LMPs :scared:

If you use a default skin, you don't need to reserve a number. If you create a custom skin (which I plan on doing for the second season) then you need to reserve a number.

rFactor was not made to be used with DS3s.
So I don't know.

With the Motioninjoy DS3 Tool however, you can.

Playing with a DS2, but it could help though: Sensitivity 0%.

Not purely, no, but there are options in the Game Settings that allow you to change sensitivity for controllers and the like, so they obviously had them in mind.

I tried that, and I ended up with no throttle or brakes atall :scared: Thanks though.

Here's an odd thing I ended up seeing finding out: You actually have to set it to Xbox 360 Controller, only then does it reconize all the buttons. From that point on, you can go in the game and do some adjustments on the sensitivity settings.

I'm practicing now if anybody wants to join me...

On a side note: Every time I open rFactor, I get a box that says "Entry Point Not Found" and something about KERNEL32.dll.
rFactor runs fine otherwise. Any ideas on what that's about?

Hum...not sure what that is. Have you installed any plug-ins or new mods?

Also, Jav, you promised a link to the skins...so I can properly see you guys :)
