I'm the last one of a group who haven't got a Rinoseat GTR since ordering at the 28th February 2011 and I'm still waiting! The others got the seat.

This seat sucks big time, especially if GT-Roadie's story is true. The design is awful, I would better use an office table.

Ok, Renato replied my in an email, that he has sent my seat to his forwarding company last friday. This forwarding company has the authorization for custom inspection and they are cheaper than their national custom inspection, but this company is sending a collection of seats to the customers out of Croatia once a week only. This declares not the long time for production. End of the story?

Will Rinoseat be quicker in the future?
Extract of another email reply from Renato
Today we have only 6 remaining deliveries.
I have ready a new web pages with a new pictures (see attachment) but I'm waiting that all customers get the Rinoseat.
I'm trying to not bother our customers (in waiting) with advertising in spite that is bad for our business.
I want to see more new outstanding products, but without these expensive delivering times. You won't get far by lying Renato! Tell us the truth and most of us will follow you in cause of your well-thought-out products!

My 2 cents....

BACK STORY:
I have been looking for a good rig to replace the one I made back in 2001 with the release of GT3 A-Spec. The current one I am using is made of 3/4" plywood with several reenforcement braces. I use a drivers seat from a 2001 Toyota Celica GT including factory slide tracks. Drivers seat aside it would cost about $100-125 to build another one and about 2 hours of time in my garage. It is VERY RIGID and has no flex at all providing a stable platform even for my T500RS wheel on FFB setting 10. It takes about 10 minutes to break down or set up because all of the panels are held in place by 3/8 steel bolts with wing nuts, it has served me very well. That said I have been looking for about a month now for a reasonably priced alternative (under $500 USD) that looks better and that is faster to take down and put back up. (Sorry guys if I find one my old rig is going to my GF's son.) I thought when looking at the reviews on the Rinoseat that I found my option until reading this thread.

THE CONCLUSION AND MY EVIDENCE TO SAY SO:
There is NO F'in way it should take months let alone a year to get this from Rinoseats. My Father is a 50yr (Yes 50 years) verteran in tool and die. He worked on parts that are not +/-.01 (1/100th), but rather .0001 (1/10,000). I have personally been reading blueprints for CNC and Manual Tool and Die since I was 5 years old and able to understand them and ran a CNC machine durring the summer while going to college for cash. My brother was one of the US Lead Technicians for one of the WORLDS LARGEST CNC Machine and Controls Manufacturing companies before he moved higher up in their US Corp. opperations (Which for obvious reasons of him or his company not having any interest in this conversation will remain nameless, please note these commets are the opinion of myself and myself alone). I have fabricated from scratch serveral parts from scratch for personal automotive use on actual club race cars. My family and I know CNC.

That said ANY decent size shop here in the US (Not "Chinese Workers") could churn out hundreds of these things in a week or two without breaking a sweat. The very benefit of making these things on CNC and Mandrell Benders is that it is EASLY repeatable. Create Program, Run Program, Part Comes Out. Part comes out the exact same every time with out fail. After that it is just a point of setting the parts into a jig and welding them up, send to painting or powdercoating and box it up with the hardware. This should take no more than 30 days to recieve the product EVEN IF they have NOTHING in stock.

CAN SOMEONE SUGGEST ANOTHER RIG THAT I CAN USE WITH A T500RS other than playseat and wheelstand pro? Because I will not be ordering a Rinoseat product. I am not willing to wait months and God Bless those crazy enough a year for something already paid for.

Thanks.... It looks really complex though to tear down and put back up. My biggest factor with this is set up time (second only to ragidity of wheel platform - hence why I dont like the Playseat, too much movement and flex) because I cant leave my rig sitting in front of the living room big screen all the time. I am also thinking about making one out of PVC and hard foam fill it for extra rigidity and working in a fold up feature with one quick release bolt so that the seat stays flat on floor but wheel and pedals go vertical and I can leave them attached. I will let you know if I get around to it and post pics/part list/instructions and total cost. So far I am thinking at around $150 (not including the seat I already own).

This sounds like a nightmare waiting on product, when you come up with something good and take a lot of orders for the product you have to be ready to gear up and get them produced fast and get people their merchandise. I would go insane if I ordered something and it took 6 months to get to me.

Will Rinoseat be quicker in the future?

I think the real question is "Will Rinoseat be in business in the future?"

They are loosing out on dozens of sales just from looking through this thread and pissing of the people who have already given them money. If this is there business model I give them less than a year.

Renato was a big help through the process, and I give him much thanks. I will update with more information and pics once I'm done building it.

unbelievable! I guess the company finally got rid of all the 6+ month backorders!

BUMP.
So Rinoseats?
Worth the $$$ and the wait?
Is there a better alternative for the same coin for us Aussies??

I've just had some correspondance from Renato, unfortunately for me shipping and conversion rate has killed it for me! EXPENSIVE!!!
Only other option is if someone is selling one they dont want?? - last ditch effort, lol.

Any help is appreciated!
Cheers All !!!

Happy New Year! Do you have Rinoseat GTRs in stock?

Yes.

Rinoseat is very light (only 10kg) and compact, so we can easily deliver to the whole world.
It is good, but needs to be careful with orders.

Here is one of the best video recorded in the Rinoseat, enjoy:

Pay attention to the stiffness of the steering wheel and the position of the shifter.

And from the Rinoseat to the real car (the same driver and the same gloves):

Agreed, it was the cost of shipping "Down Under" (to Australia) that was the decided "NO" for me.

Thanks for the help anyways Renato.

Cheers All.

Thanks for the update MoGo, I'm in Texas as well and was wondering if I should go with this product.

The price of the Rinoseat GTR + shipping from Croatia to Australia is lower then the price of the GTxtreme V2 Racing Simulator from Australia to Australia. Everything else is a matter of taste and money.

He has g27 wheel look alike in the Capri? LOL

Great video ( he has more vids like that) , looks so real. Great driving, stability is apsolutely incredible.

So proud to have Rinoseat at my home. Dont have shifter so cant comment on the position of one.

Who ever buys it it wont regret it.

Not to toot my own horn (because it is rough looking :)) but for anyone that wants a stand like this it's a solid and sturdy design and in my opinion one of the easiest to copy if you have access to a welder and pipe bender. Ofcourse mine is a little different. I had no blueprints or one to measure, I built this off of the pic I saw of the Rhinoseat.

And after I built it I saw this picture. Eery resemblance!

i emailed them and they responded within a day, they told me their next shipping date was January 27th, so im guessing thats when they are ready to ship out or something? The price of the rigs are 399 USD and 439 USD with shifter mount, but then economy shipping to the US is 100 USD and shipping by plane is 125 USD (max 10 days) I am very interested in one of these rigs, despite the expensive price with shipping to the US. If the rig is only 10kg and is as rigid as in the videos ive seen, it could definately be worthwhile, especially for people who need to move around the rig to store it. In the video rinoseat posted, (http://max.tportal.hr/Rinoseat-GTR-Video_10085_0__0.aspx) it has a guy sitting in the chair racing, and another guy literally stands on top of the front frame which holds the wheel, and the thing doesnt even budge. Go to about 5 minute 10 seconds in.

I havent really found any reviews by GTPers or any other semi well-known sites (in english) that have reviewed the rig. If anyone here has one and is willing to make a video or write up a review with some pictures, it would almost certainly convince me to buy it.

I bought GT5 last year, but is still unopened heh... waiting to buy my fanatec.

Wondering about CSR, CSR Elite or CSW.

Anyway... rinoseats looks very good, compared to cockpit solutions.

I'm reading this thread in hopes of getting more feedback.

All the reviews I have read about rinoseats have been good. Only problem I see is the delivery time, that seems they got it figured out.

Please if any of you get your rinoseat post impressions of the whole process here.

I think I will get mine (or a wheelstand, checking cash) in some months at most

Thanks!
