As long as you are enjoying yourself it is never cheating. ;)

It would be cheating if you were to use it in a race where everyone agreed to use a stock car :sly:

This beast is an already tuned 911 turbo. So, it already has an LSD on it. It is in your disposal to change the settings. Where is the cheating in this?

Really struggle controlling this beast am I cheating by putting a limited split diff on it ?

Yes you are, and your PSN account will be closed.

Seriously, enough of those "cheat" and "rarest UCD car" threads.

Cars in real life have all kinds of assists, unless you drive a car that was made before the 70's, when there was basically, almost no assists whatsoever, if none.

The only way to cheat is if you race with, let's say, your friends and everyone removes all assists and you put some on, then it would be sort of cheating, but besides that, if you're good enough to race with everything off, go ahead, if not, who cares.

In their rooms then.
SFR is an inbuilt game physics cheat or simply put The Ridge Racer function.
It's more like a difficulty setting. ;)
It is never a cheat when it is built n the game.

It becomes cheating if you agree not to use it and than use it anyway.

I don't know about you guys but I love Skid recovery. I only use that and TCS on 1 though.

Still not cheating, people are allowed to play thet game how they see fit.

Just because it's different than you doesn't make it wrong. Aids are tools in the toolbox, there to be used.

iddqd and idkfa isn't cheats then...

OMG, and you bring out the Doom cheats... lol...

Dont forget idspispopd either! ;)

And LSD isnt a cheat really (unless its a stock race) and it requires knowing what your doing to a degree to get it set too. Heck, some cars come with an LSD so its not a cheat.

SRF and ASM I dont use them myself, and for those that do it generally slows you down so sometimes using them doesnt actually help you (like Traction Control).

On a similar note but kind of related, TC for instance is set on a bell curve. At the top of the bell is where maximum grip occurs. TC doesnt kick in until a tad on the other side of the curve after passing the maximum grip; meaning it works after you start loosing traction. All of these computerized aids dont actually catch the car at the optimal spot, instead they actually jump in after its too late.

OP- You are definitley not cheating by adjusting your diff settings.

Ecchi-BANZAII!!
Unless it's SFR or ASM
SRF or SFR is ESP so there  its not magic!

NOTE- I only use SRF on 1 of my cars. It should be off 99.99% of the time to really enjoy the drive.

SFR is a magic cheat that makes you drive like Ridge Racers.

Thing is though...if it's a Skid Recovery Force...

...and it makes cars drive like in Ridge Racer...

...how come the fastest way to drive in Ridge Racer is by drifting? :boggled:

Either way I wouldn't remember since I only use ABS now.

PROTIP: 80-150kg of ballast in the front will make most rear engined RUFs handle like a dream.

Adjust the ammount of ballast according with your skill. Plus, let the rear toe at around +0.10 and put 2.0 degrees of camber at front and around 3.2 at rear.

Hardcore and purists will want to throw you stones because of the ballast, but like stated in some comments above, if you're having pleasure driving it, its what matters!

If you guys want a fun game to do with RUFs, is to clone Porsche's original specs...

RGT becomes an awesome GT3, BTR and Yellowbird becomes great regular Turbo 964s. I add ballast to mimick the original weight but I often position the weight forward to make them balanced, and as I said, works wonders.

I've read your post about 7 times and still can't make any sense of it:odd::confused:

but anyway, to me as long as it is not against any rules you have agreed upon with others it is not really cheating.

If you want to use a "give-me-all-cars-and-infinite-credits-button" be my guest.
If that makes you enjoy the game more, it is fine.

You buy and play a game (lets not forget that GT5 is a game) to have fun.
And your way of having fun with it might be different from someone else.

just when you agree NOT to use SRF or something like that and you still do then it is heating.

note: this is of course a personal opinion. ;)

Basicaly :
Offline, do what you want it doenst matter. It's your game, play it the way you want.
Online : If you do your room, it's your rule, if you join a game, respect the rules set by the owner.

Other than that there's no cheating, even cutting chicane is fine if the owner permit it. If you dont like it like me, change room.

Basically what I meant, but a better choice of words. :D

Thank you 👍

Traction control set to 7, on a 460HP '71 Mustang, catching up to you(no aids) to close a 20s gap, is cheating ;(

ASM is ESP

Fixed

...how come the fastest way to drive in Ridge Racer is by sliding? :boggled:

Either way I wouldn't remember since I only use ABS now.

GT5 - With SRF makes cars take corners with magic resistance added when you slide.
Ridge Racer - When you go sideways you can take corners with magic resistance added.

Both makes it feel more like you're driving a slot car.
Though Ridge Racer shouldn't even be allowed to sell.:dunce:

Also, don't call that thing they do in Ridge Racer drifting... That's an insult for drifting.

Warning, this game sucks so much it will make Isaac Newton puke in his grave.

More like 'kill the uniqueness of the car' tip.
Might as well suggest lowering the front to the ground and raising the back.

If you want to learn to drive RR RUFs, start driving them 100% stock on tires no better than comfort-softs and practice braking straight and gradually accelerating into a corner w/o overpowering rear tires.
