Just developed the red flashing light on my original 60gig ps3.... not happy. Hoping it will come on later but looks like I am going to miss my first race.... :( Was testing an e-type, an s-type R and was about to see how my lotus carlton went round but.....

Epic race guys. Nice win carbon, you were quick. Realised when i got into the race that you all didn't have rear wings, I shouldnt have put a rear spoiler on my car. Anyways it wouldn't of made the difference, carbon was bloody quick. Cheers for hosting XPOWER. Look forward to the next race.:)

Cheers for the good race!

There seemed to be some connection issues regarding FishyJuice, but since I don't know about his performance, I'll just report the race from my view.

For some reason, XPOWER was actually on the pole position, even though I had just clocked a nicely fast 2'01.7 - after getting some warnings from Brad, who clocked multiple great times. I don't know if our host had just made a ghost lap before the end of qualifying, but on to the race...

I got a good start, and proceeded not to lose positions, following XPOWER closely for the first few laps and trying to pressure him to earn the lead as quickly as possible. The others were left behind early, but led by Brad, they started catching up. On the chicane of the 3rd lap, I saw my chance, but there was a slight collision. I don't exactly know what happened, but it led to XPOWER getting a penalty for shortcutting.

Then Brad caught up, and I totally felt the pressure - he was faster, that was a clear fact. I finally decided to pit on lap 7 to avoid any further trouble, and dropped 5th, right behind XPOWER and cobrius, who were fighting it out. On my out lap, they made some contact at the chicane, and I ended up hitting cobrius because he just suddenly appeared almost at a dead stop after the chicane, but still I got around him and kept him behind despite good overtaking attempts. With Brad having pitted, Filip_Ovik moved to the lead and I took over second place.

But it only lasted for a few laps - no wins without pitting this time! I made a bit of a risky pass at the first turn, and there was a bit of contact, but it went still relatively clean, and I was back at the lead. With excitement, I drove through the last few laps with a steady, non-risky pace while Brad seemed to have made a couple of errors behind me (he passed Filip too). And so it ended with my first win, and continued the series of races won by Scandinavians. :)

PS: I took a pic from my battle with XPOWER and now it's my profile image. That was definitely a race worth recording.

Don't know how i ended up on pole, very strange. Also, i didn't get a penalty on lap 3; i outbraked myself and nudged the chicane wall and had to reverse out. That led to me being behind Braderz and Filip. Had a great little battle with Filip for a couple of laps, i regained 3rd and Filip battled really hard. He over took me on lap 6 heading into the chicane but braked earlier than i would have expected. This led to me nudging his left rear quater send ing him into a spin to the right of the chicane. The only decent thing i could do was pull over and let him recover.
Looking forwars to seeing any pictures and i may watch the replay for pure entertainment value ! Thanks for all racing guys, looking forward to Le Mans next week. 7 laps of the 2009 Circuit De La Sarthe with chicanes. As a one off for this event, penalties will be on STRONG due to the amount of short cuts over painted areas that aren't recognised on penalties WEAK setting.

I have no idea what happened during this race, I realise now why you (XPOWER) was standing still by the chicane for quite a while.

But I have a car that I think will be competitive for this race, and I hope I'll be without any major problems in the next race. But I do not know how you guys do it, is it because some of you race with wheels or are you masters of tuning. I considered myself good at tuning, I was wrong. But I can say that my fastest time during the race was on lap 10, semi-fresh tires and I pulled of a 2.04.089, and that wasn't especially now that I've seen what everyone else was doing.

Couldn't get on because of connection issues but it sounds like you had a good race.

You missed a good race, there was some incidents, some close battles and a new winner!

Myself (Vanquish) and the winner, Carbonox on lap 2.

Nice pic for sure. For more, I made a slideshow containing some highlights from the race. Two of the pictures are accidentally duplicates, but don't let it be a problem.

1. Trying to find my way around XPOWER early on...
2. Different driving line - no success.
3. Side to side!
4/5. A nice view containing me, Braderz, XPOWER and Filip, from left to right.
6. Filip challenges XPOWER!
7. The battle doesn't end too well.
8. This close Braderz got to passing me.
9. XPOWER and cobrius, now closely battling. Cobrius in the yellow TVR.
10. More battling, now approaching the chicane. Me behind the duo.
11. X180 pits, I challenge cobrius from the outside.
12. Cobrius comes back in the first corner!
13. Braderz passes cobrius in the Schumacher S.
14. My race winning overtake, with Filip_Ovik in the green car.
15/16. Braderz also gets past Filip, snatching second place in his first race.

We have 5 races left so if you are happy with that then i'll sign you up! However, beyond next weeks race no new entrants will be accepted as it's unfair to take points away from our dedicated racers. So this, week 4 is the cut-off point for any new racers to apply.

But if we end up getting several new entries, couldn't we return to the reserve driver system? :) Except this time giving the advantage to those who have already raced in the series. This could keep the field active even when some of us can't make it.

Well currently we have no need for a reserve driver system as we have a relativly small grid. Also, Fauscal had signed up long ago but due to the PSN issue in his region he was unable to attend. So far we have had 12 entrants but one of them quit 3 or 4 laps into the 2nd race so officialy only 11 are on the score board.
I'm not sure what you mean though by giving the advantage to those who have already raced? Please elaborate!

Well, it seems also possible that Eidolon_600, SmittMan and Skunkyskunkface are able to take part at some point. If all those were in a race along with all the guys who have participated before (along with Fauscal) there would be 16 of us, and if more wanted to join after this, there would be a need for reserves again. Although it's not that likely to see everyone on the grid at once, it's still very much possible... :)

With that, if some of us miss races because of work, connection issues or other reasons, we could even have a need for reserves.

As for the advantage thing, I meant that the ones who have already taken part at some race early in the season should be the primary drivers for each event. But right now it wouldn't work that well unless everyone takes part in some race.

XPOWER, just wondering because I couldn't get on the server on Saturday what do you put the connection settings to.

The man to ask on that will be SlyckTires, he had similar issues with the 1st weeks race and resolved it. Try messaging him, he's a sound lad and i'm sure he'll help out :)

Bu-bu-bu-bumpity bump.

It's probably time to start the submitting roulette to get some life into this thread again, so I'll gladly present my vehicle of choice, which is now my choice for the second time in the season.

Carbonox: BMW M3 CSL (black)

Once again i'm not getting hardly any practice time in; what times are you guys getting? Best i got in was 4:11 and i get a feeling i'm MASSIVLY off the pace ! :nervous:
