Sony Asks Gran Turismo 7 Players What They Want in Future Updates

A shame it's invitation only, I'd love the single player career format to return to that of the earlier games with proper events, championships and re-winnable prize cars. If they blended that with the tuning and customisation in GT7. Fixed the in game economy so it wasn't so grindy for single players and kept the online modes (tweaked them as people who play online would like), they'd have a killer game on their hands rather than a disappointing one.

Off the top of my head?

-More mission sets, as I don't think the idea has been fully-exhausted yet.

-A way that a wider variety of cars get used in Sport Mode, such as with the current Nations Cup races that have some rather interesting selections.

-More menu and race music themes could be really splendid if the tracks are chosen carefully. How 'bout some Pink Martini, or even some of the Lenny Ibizarre tracks from GT Sport like Sixtyfour Hippos?

-Two new racing categories: Gr.1V and Gr.3V, with the "V" standing for "vintage". The former would include various sports prototypes like the Porsche 917K, Jaguar XJ13, and the Ford Mark IV. Meanwhile, the latter would be for racers like the Shelby Daytona Coupe, Alfa Romeo TZ2, and the Ferrari 250 GTO.

I could easily list cars/tracks I'd like to see, but that feels too obvious. Though for what it's worth, I'd totally be down to see more automakers and categories get featured in the Manufacturers Series, especially Maserati and Gr.1, respectively. Plus, broadening Gr.2 with the 2024 GT500 trio - and the other three "Class One" DTM racers from Mercedes-AMG/BMW/Aston Martin - wouldn't hurt, either.

-More tracks, of course.
-A rethink of the BOP process across all classes, not just GR3.
-Updated GR3 cars in the game (or refer to BOP comment).
-Total rethink and implementation of the penalty system.
-Address the way driving standards are rewarded/penalized more than just finishing position
-Weekly races with full damage.
-More strategy in weekly races.
-A credit bonus for utilizing non-metas deemed disadvantaged by the track/rules set in the weekly races
-STOP USING THE SAME TRACKS IN THE WEEKLY RACES IN ROTATION!!!! Mix it up with the rest of the layouts in game.
-pit road entry speed limit
-if you can’t have pit road animations, a more realistic pit loss time sequence instead of popping into the pit, then popping out at pit exit
-pit mistakes at random to extend the time
-slow refueling rates/increase tire wear multiplier (figures into the strategy)
-bring back more limited tuning options in weekly races and cup races
-make the roulette prizes wayyyy less predictable
-have the ability to utilize deployment of the hybrid battery in race cars
-a race director option for online lobbies

Just my two cents

You have to be smart with these. They aren't going to suddenly re-do the core single player campaign structure of a 4 year old game, so there's no point in saying "please make World Circuits like GT4".

My answers focused on Shuffle Races, expanded use of the Championship Sport Mode section (suggesting "monthly cups utilising the new content that month" as an example), testing rolling starts so they don't drop you starting in the middle of a corner, expanding Sophy 2.1 car compatibility, new Missions and Time Trials (suggesting "Top Gear cheap car challenge style where the limit is how many Credits you spent on the car"), and admittedly very optimistically a faster track release cadence.

I expect to get none of the above except maybe the rolling starts fix.

No, they won't likely change the entire game's structure, but it will inform them of what players like and dislike. If they come away thinking players love the current format (maybe they do) then we'll get more of the same in future titles.

They were quick to change Power Pack features and that’s for paid content that I’m sure is a minority of the overall game.

Basics for Custom Championships in Custom Race such as:

  • “It is now possible to save races in championship format.”
  • “Double file starts as seen in World Touring events and Power Pack races are now possible to select.”
  • “PS5 Users can now select GT SOPHY 3.0 in the Rival Car AI Selection Menu for the full race weekend experience that include Practice, Qualifying and changing weather conditions.”

Some Quality of Life options should be multiple purchase of duplicate cars at one time. A one button press to add customised parts to duplicate cars. Those two are just basics.

I want to add the latest Ford Mustang and McLaren cars such as the 720s, 600LT and Ford Mustang Dark Horse and add the Hypermote event on the Nurburgring Track

Does being unsubscribed to PlayStation or Sony mailing list or something affect getting these emails? Cause I'm sure I did that at some point and I don't recall getting any emails from them about anything.

kjb
I didn't get an invite this time around but I would definitely want a better single player career mode and Sophy available on all tracks and cars. Also in addition to the custom race, the ability to create custom championships
That, and all cars available as rental cars (Quick Race, Time Trial, Drift Trial, Custom Race/Championship and Split-Screen only), similar to GT4's Arcade Mode and Forza Motorsport 4.

I've got this guys. As a lifelong GT fan, I've made sure PD know what feature we want back more than ever.

Thank me when it's included in a future update.

Hello! What would be your answers to this Survey? Kinda interested to see what would be the "Core" opinion of this forum!
Polyphony will certainly looks at the answers, but what are the chances that they follow it, even if an opinion represent the majority of the fanbase? Even if I think they are listening more and more to the community, they are not known for their speed, and focused on following their/Kaz's vision :D
My biggest concern with GT7 is probably the size of the career mode, definitly not big enough for the franchise, and a wasted potential, because GT7 could easily be the best game of the franchise with a bigger/GT4 like career mode.

Make your expensive cars (1,000,000 cr and up) winnable in-game, through special menus or seasonal events.
I noticed there don’t seem to be any direct questions about the game economy, the grindiness of it. I’d love to tell PD about my thought on that. GT7 is the first game where I don’t have all cars and I’ve played 150hrs or so. That’s terrible game design. And I’m not a terrible driver, used to be B/S when I still cared to online race
