Half-assing Everything? Are you serious?
Sure there are some things which this applies, the world-races for example, but generally they do the exact opposite and put much much love for detail into their work, more than any other developer of racing games I would say.
We could have big arguments about this.
  • SOPHY and SOPHY use of cars are half-assed.
  • No tyre pressure adjustment.
  • No manual pre-race lap control
  • No manual pit stop option
  • No optional cool down lap option
  • Can't configure headlights on/off(we could in - GT Sport, but for some reason not GT7)
  • No vocal race engineer to update you on real time vehicle condition, weather, lap times, laps left.
  • No snowy weather option
  • No speed option for wipers and actually being unable to see through the windscreen in heavy rain
  • Can't configure the HUD
  • Can't remove steering wheel in cockpit mode
  • Can't customise interior by changing steering wheel and instrument gauges

There's a whole lot more.

No arguments about PD's dedication to car detail, but as mentioned, they do need help with the overall options( that even Kaz has used in real life) to program for the GT franchise.

Like, it's crazy. The game has Practice & Qualifying, but players can only do that by paying for PS+ or paying for the Power Pack. That's two-thirds-assed, but seriously. :sly::lol:

I didn‘t get an invite to the survey either but if there‘s one thing from the older games I‘d like PD to implement into GT7 it‘s more city tracks, i.e. Tokyo R246, Paris, Hong Kong, Special Stage Route 5 etc.

It‘s probably unlikely though, given their focus on FIA grade race tracks nowadays.
Also didn't get the survey here.

I'd be okay with just Hong Kong, New York, Paris and Tokyo R246, even if some of them (particularly Hong Kong and Paris) are terrible for clean racing, overtaking, or both.

Mostly because these are cities that have had an impact in my life.

Same here.

I think GT7 has a lot of potential that they simply haven't used. I was over the moon when I saw that they were releasing Hypercars, but there is still a lack of current cars, mainly supercars (SF90, Reveulto, etc) and GT3 racecars (Corvette, Aston Martin, BMW, etc)
Out of the circuits I think Silverstone is a big miss on their part. Other than that, I think the career mode needs a complete overhaul, and some better Daily race setups. I would still choose Gran Turismo over other car games though, because it still hasn't been beaten in terms of graphics or model simulations, despite being four years old

Please restore the full force(!) of True Force for the Logitech G wheelbases.

PD nerfed the effect by dialling the maximum back by, I'm guessing, 30 to 50% 2 years ago.

If you use your Logitech setup in any other game that supports True Force you'll know that the difference is like chalk and cheese.

I see no valid or logical reason for this move. It has nothing to do with the "issue" of people injuring themselves; that's down to the overall torque setting one uses and PD's implemented a pop-up warning in the controller-settings menu when you select a force level higher than what it considers "safe" for all.

Shuffle races are the answer to all of life's problems, they should replace Gr4 in Sport Mode.
Shuffle should be either race A or weekly 4th race, as it kind of would have to be a "no dr" -race. They already have tested few car groups also outside the gr -system for a long time, so shuffle of somekind should be just a matter of time.

Penalty system similar to iRacing would be the answer to all of life's problems..

As I would not expect anything groundbreaking or completely new, I would be happy with

1) Physics/car performance overhaul: It feels like LMP1, Hypercars and Gr.2 (GT500, DTM) are too close in regards to PP/lap times. Also, several top speeds are off.

2) Review and update of car sounds:
Several threads exist to help improve car sounds. The new cars sound fine, but some cars (e.g stock Supra) use very old sounds that do not match the quality of the new ones.

3) Sophy availability for all tracks and cars:
Start with cars and this would already be a game changer for me.

This is mostly very niche stuff that is super expensive to implement.

There are fundamentals that need addressing for the online side before we ask for anything else, namely;

  • Fix the appalling penalty system
  • Live timing like we had on GT Sport
  • More tracks with weather
  • More tracks full stop, and good ones not abortions like Yabbi Dabbi and Montreal which are horrible race tracks
  • re-categorization of the cars or at least limits of which cars can be used in the dailies so it is not always the same meta

From there we have a baseline t work off-of.

I can't wait for the inevitable proper BoP race between Subaru BRZ / Toyota Yaris / Mazda Roadster

Tight bop isnt even the idea of shuffle races. Its a varied bunch of somewhat similar performance but different variables. You get a random car and you must adapt to its strenghts and weakneses.

Oh.. and please fix the VR hud. Lack of driver standings and deltas is just nuts if you wish to use VR in sport mode.

Can’t see how it’s very expensive with PD’s budget. The things I’ve listed are in Project Cars 2. That studio probably had a minute budget next to what SONY spends.
Some things PD have implemented in past GT games are as noted. Why can SOPHY 3.0 race in wet weather and SOPHY 2.1 cannot? Players have(the option) to buy the feature that allows them to race GT SOPHY in wet conditions. Yet, not in the World Circuit part of the game.

There were options in Custom Race like a wet surface scale at start of race. That was removed because reports from gtplanet players were seeing odd behaviour and tyre choices by Ai on the wrong tyres. However, if I select rain at the start of a race, even then some AI are still on the wrong tyre. How PD have all the money and can’t get some things to work as other studios with limited budgets, I don’t know. PD have been at this franchise for nearly thirty years and can’t get a few immersion details working.

PD don’t need basics to work off. They have everything. They need help optimising features and options.

Even if it's too late to overhaul the career mode, I'd definitely like to see more race themes than just reusing Sunday Club/Clubman Cup/Touring Car Cup over and over. They've already added the Jimny Cup and Evolution Meeting via updates, so this isn't impossible. We've certainly built up enough content to bring back events such as the Compact and 80s Sports Car cups.

And what about all those cool, expensive vintage race cars that simply aren't allowed anywhere that they'd be competitive in? Old games would at least let you bring race cars into the Sunday Cup, but in GT7 you're basically stuck building custom races.

Im talking more about or the fiddle as hell in car stuff, custom wheels and what not.
I don’t use a wheel, but even then, it’s been forever PD have made it so the best way to play Gran Turismo is with a wheel. I don’t know why they can’t they get that right. I’ve read so many complaints by gtp wheel users. PD still need help.

I have 2700hrs logged into the game. Didn’t receive a survey. Too bad they don’t open it up to everyone that has purchased the game and played it a lot. Who knows maybe 2700 hrs isn’t alot. 🙄

I know what I’d like, pretty much the opposite of what we’ve been getting lately in updates.

Event themes in GT Sport that are not in GT7:

All Japan GT Car Championships
Beetle and Samba Bus Festa
Boxer Spirit
Clio Cup
Compétition de France
F-150 Raptor Survival (one-make)
F1500 Championship
Lamborghini Cup
Mazda Roadsters Cup
Midship Challenge
Mini Challenge
Nostalgic 1979
Real Circuit Tours
Red Bull X2014 Junior Series
Red Bull X2014 Standard Cup
Supra Legend
The Passion of Dr. Wankel
Tourist Trophy
World Hatchback Championship
Z Heritage

And also non-mission endurance event themes such as:

Gr. 1 Prototype Endurance Series
Gr. 3 Endurance Series
Porsche Cup - Endurance
X2019 Competition Endurance Series - think the ones we have already, but longer

B Spec (Manager simulator, your driver starts as a noob and progresses and gets better (or not if you miss manage in different sense including drivers health etc)) so you don't need to grind tracks yourself like a bot. was one of the best things in gt4. no idea why they dropped it.

obviously more cars and tracks. and more races which actually matter and add variety. so sardegna alternatives, there should be at least 10 races which give you very similar credits/hour, and they should have different requirement/cars/limitations (the bigger limitations the bigger the reward margins overall, but not too much it's should be a tradeoff between ez of execution/effort). so there would be place even for dog****/very specific cars etc (you actually could use what you buy) thats the most important. except licenses/missions game boils don't to grinding the most efficient races (so there should be a lot of them for different tastes)

HUD customization (lack of) is the biggest flaw of this game, for me personally.
Also, that damn Refueling alert in the middle of the screen blocking my view needs to go.

With over 1500 hours played in GT7, I'm really disappointed that I have not been included in any of these .....🤨
Been a subscriber since the beginning and have all of the US market GT games.

  • A way to be able to organize my helmets. Same with Suits.
  • To be able to add Carbon Fiber parts to like the hood and specific parts as well without having to rely on decals.
  • To be able to color the caliper brakes to any color you want.
  • I would like to able to go back to past Online Time Trials i missed and Gold them. Even if there is no credit payout.
  • I know this might not be able to make it. But oh well. Here it goes. I want motorcycles like in Tourist Trophy.
  • This goes back to suits. I would like the ability to be able to customize the whole suit. I know certain parts you can't currently.
  • I know this might not have anything to do with GT. But Polyphony did develop it. There any chance of Tourist Trophy 2?
  • Is there any possible way to add full decal to the helmet visor. Currently only half of the visor can you add decals.

If I was making a poll like this I wouldn't have included you (or myself for that matter, as I have similar amount of hours played) as well. Why would I want an opinion on changes from someone who is already enjoying what is available enough to spend so many hours in the game?

I am not saying that is what is happening (as there is no evidence to back it up), but getting new players or convincing casual players to play more to attract more brand deals and subscriptions to PS Plus is how they get the poll converted into money for Sony.
