It's incredible what good lighting does to a game. Think it's the most important thing by far - everything looks de-facto so much better in a well lit environment, even if the assets aren't high fidelity.
What Polyphony does with their lighting looks bloody good and it's awesome to see that applied elsewhere. Because Beam looks bloody good now as well.

This game is slowly evolving, to become the king of the driving simulator. There's an argument that it already is?
Beamng it's a game/simulator where the physics makes so much sense that even a diesel SUV-hatchback thing can be driven hard and getting tons of fun out of it. I adore it.

Also, automatics are perfectly simulated and feel great. (CVTs will always be crap tho)

And now it has the graphics on par with the phenomenal driving experience.

It most definitely is the best driving sim out there. Their tech is used in the automotive industry, and the game was launched just to let people experience their expertise in a fun way. It had a big leg up over most other sims to start with.

GT7 has always looked damn good, but it's also held back somewhat by very stale and sterile locations during gameplay. Seeing PD magic getting to stretch its legs in a variety of environments, from cities to mountains to quarries, just puts into perspective how much more the graphical technology of the game has to give.

This is probably the closest we'll get to an open world GT game

It's interesting how the landscapes and cars really look somehow Gran Turismo-ish in these trailers. I can also see why Polyphony are ok with this use of their technology, since BeamNG looks more like a giant playground than any kind of competitor for GT. I am just wondering if Sony owned studios also use Polyphony's technology?

Did you forget to calibrate your PS5 HDR Settings in the System Menü... ?!

No, for some reason GT is the only game that gets so dark...... Maybe its just how GT is then.....

I also have HGiG set in my LG CX (and dynamic contrast off) and GT7 isn't any darker or brighter than other HDR games.
As mentioned by @PirovacBoy , it may be worth double checking you have the HDR settings on your PS5 properly calibrated.
I basically followed Vincent Teoh's recommendations. I remember there used to be some misunderstanding regarding these steps some years ago.
See this video in case you need a refresher.
