Hmm, what European cars would be available as a starter? I love the sound of that but i think they will be all too expensive, that's why i went Japanese, because i know theres plenty of choice to start off with :)

Well, I'm hoping for a VW or Opel, a cheap Golf for example. BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi (I almost added Porsche :ouch:) are for later of course. :)

Ya I think that's why this poll is leaning towards the Japanese cars. More affordable cars that can still perform well enough to be used in alot of events at the start. I'm curious to know just how many events we will have in GT5. Considering how many were in GT4, with all the manufacturer events as well, I think GT5 will take ALOT more time to hit 100%. I'm going for it though. I want to make a long term goal of owning atleast 1 of every make and model of car in the game. All 1000+ of them!
If we can earn money online, it maybe easy getting cars in the long run. :sly: I just hope most of us don't end up doing the same races so we can continue our process.

I feel ye' lol. On GT4, I had to do several races in the Japanese section most of the time to move on lol. IF I have to work for that, no problem at all. :sly:

Since I read something awhile ago about points turning into cash in drift mode, I will probably go Japanese and find something light and rear wheel drive. A FC rx7 would be nice but i'm sure there'll be plenty of choice.
When I can afford it I want a vw bus, lambo green with black roof, black alloys and I WILL slide it. They are rear engined rear wheel drive after all... :p

I've never gotten 100% in a GT game except for Prologue, usually I'm around 50-70% as I spend time doing the money grind to collect and upgrade cars. GT2 and Prologue were the only two I went for and got all gold on the tests.

This time I might go for 100%. I started using a wheel for Prologue and I have much much more fun playing this way so 100% GT5 completion isn't out of the question for me.

I'm still not set on a starting car. What I am set on is factoring 1k to 1.5k for weight reduction 1-2 in to the equasion.

I will say. Of all the games I have played the most fun thus far has been the choice of a starting car in the GT series. It's so much fun. I can't wait to click on the used car lot and have a looksee.

Points turning into cash! That's genius! If only it was 1Cr for every point, I'd be getting 15,000 per lap on Eiger Nordwand haha.

Can you remember where you read this?

Ah, yes, the 10k credit starting money... Going through the manufacturers 'showrooms' looking at the cars you wanna have before going to the second hand showroom and buying whatever you can afford. And then, after many races and the selling of a handfull of prize cars, your bank account reaches that magical amount... you rush to the ferrari showroom, buy the car and spend the next hour racing it everywhere. Your first ferrari.

That's one of the lovely elements of a new GT game. You can only experience it once every game, because once you know which races make you the most money in the least amount of time, the magic is gone.

prologue has me wondering if we'll actually be able to sell our prize cars :guilty: i hope we still can

My first car in GT4 was the Tommi Makinen Evo V. (i think that was the gen...)

But this time I think i'm going to go with my real-life car; Mazda RX7 FC3S.

I want to try to get the Infiniti G20, but the thing is, would it be considered American, because of it being Infiniti, or Japanese, because it's a subsidiary of Nissan?:confused:

American. Infiniti in GT4 was in the American part of the dealers. Dont see why it would change.

I'd like to buy a Suzuki Swift (my real car), but I think only the Sports version is available. Maybe the Swift Sport or Ford Focus ST, I loved it at Prologue :)

Honda Civic '01 if I can find the right version

Or the new Fiat 500 if it's cheap enough as it's the set of wheels I'm driving now

Mmm.. I was thinking this too.. :P They surely must have it, and you must be able to change the interior colour like in real life.. ;)
And make it the Fiat Abarth 500 Esseesse... Turbo? YES PLEASE> -hands up for Turbo!!

A nice Japanese car from the used-car lot! I got a R33 GT-R in GT4 as my first car and it was a definite winner, won many races with it :)

That was GT4. Since then Infinity was introduced in Europe as well. On the other hand Lexus was already known in Europe and was American too in GT4. We will see.

Ing GT4 i started with a second hand Lancer EVO IV or V (cant remember). It was the car with the most HP (think it was around 214) that you could buy with the start credits. It was an awesome starter, because it was 4WD and turbocharged you could use it in the turbomonster cup and the easier rally stages if you souped it up enough.:):) Happy times!! :):)

I'd love to buy my very own SEAT Cupra. If I try thrashing it around here on public roads, I could end up in jail, or quite possibly, intensive care...:-)
If it's too expensive, then it's Toyota AE or Lancer V /VI.
Surely GT5 will have a SEAT.

First cars...
GT 1: Honda CRX del Sol Si-R '92
GT 2: Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg R '92
GT 3: Mazda MX-5 '89
GT 4: Toyota Yaris F (J) '99
GT5P: Ford Focus ST '06
GT PSP: Pontiac Vibe GT '03

Now for GT5, I don't know. I'll probably search in the used car lot. Maybe a used Peugeot 206 (I had this for my driving school), but I am still undecided.

I'm gonna clear the beginner's B-license and use whatever prize car it has to offer for earning gold.
I bet it will be a Japanese car.

Four Posibilities for me : Toyota AE86 , Nissan Silvia S13 , Honda Civic SiR (EG6) or Civic Type R (EK-My first car in GT4... With 240 Horse Power it is DA BEAST!! :D )
