Well, with 20'000 credits, a used Fairlady Z would be a possiblity, as well as one of the newer Mustangs, maybe even an M3 (depending on which M3 models are in the game).

Just going for an AE86 and buying some upgrades would work as well, though.

NA Miata with supercharger. Goal for my real Miata is 200whp so I'm going to do up the car just like I would in reality.

It seems as if 20k is starting CR, so I will most likely browse used car section and find something fun ( older evo/sti, ae86/180/240, or another fun awd/drift toy ) maybe something with 300k+ on it for giggles.

An M3 would be pretty hot. Especially at the beginning. I'm sure that there will be a 1st gen M3 to buy used. And I'm sure it will be under 20,000 Cr.

The E30 would be neat. The E36 would be decent as well, but I have a feeling the older BMWs won't be added.

^ haha Mike what up fool
Haha what's going on man, thought that was you lol.
300k on it it for giggles? Did they say they say higher odomoter and used cars will be slower or more damaged?

If that is true, oh well, but that's also why I said for giggles. Meaning, just for laughs I will have "that" car from the used car dealer. Plus it's a trophy. Will like to see how much of the game I can complete.

Most probably Snake, in GT4 even cars with high mileage had like 60k 90k .

I believe well see some beaters and possibly lemons that are scrap in craps clothing.

YEa but did it actually affect the way teh car drove? Did higher odo and age make it worse. Ive never seen that in gt.

In GT4 mileage affected chassis rigidity and power.
I wonder if in GT5 there will be more side-effects like for example slow clutch, missing gears, engine randomly stalling or misfiring, wrong wheel alignment, uneven suspension response, etc.

I would love to get a european coupe from the 80's but sadly I will probably end up with a Japanese drifter

yes but u can pay to get it serviced bassicalyy bringing it to new cars levels? IT just some added cost involved, is it not?

Im worried about buying a too old car and not being able to have it running at max lol.

Yes, in addition to chassis refresh it appears that in GT5 drivetrain refresh will be possible too, so there should be no problem with that.

I'm going to try to get an Impreza WRX, not the STi version though as that would be overkill for the start of the game.
If I can't get that then probably an RX-7 or a Suzuki Cappuccino, I might even get an AE86. Oh the possibilities...
Even with these choices it will probably be a used car.

20,000 credits are too many to buy a starting car. Maybe cars are more expensive in GT5 compared to cars in other GT games.

Should be plenty for my Subaru 360, and I should have plenty of change for some upgrades. I'm going to start from the very bottom, I want this game to last me untill the next GT arrives.

I wouldn't mind jumping into a tuned by gran turismo Honda S500/600/800 as those things are very fun on the nurburgring (skinny tires :dopey:), and are the ancestors to my fun little road S2000.

Ditto. This game is basically the very first console MMO, and if Prolougue is anything to go by, they will constantly update and change the online events, so yeah technically this is an MMO indeed. Car RPG.
