Fun topic.

1991 Honda Prelude Si VTEC in Brittany Blue Green Metallic or a 1991 CIVIC SiR-II (EG) in Tahitian Green Pearl.

Lolz, In all of the other older GTs I used to always use the Prelude, it was such a great starting car. I'm thinking I might use a Civic this time if possible, but if not, Prelude for sure!

I am going fot GTS R32 or some Honda. Lol. The GTS was the first car i bought in gt1 when i was like 6. Man time sure has pass.
And i like the fact that most said they would buy a japanese car. lol

This is the way I did it.
1: Got a message that in order to continue to races, special events or license tests, i had to buy a car first.
2: Bought the PDI kart
3: Realised i had to reach driver level 1 to race the kart in the special events
4: Took the National - B lisence to achieve the driver level
5: Did the two first kart races and earned about 40 - 45,000 credits.
6: Bought Honda S2000 and started with the beginners races.

ill probably get some mid 90's japanese car cause thats all ill be able to afford when starting the game... then work my way up. if i can find a fast, cheap european car, then ill buy it, but it'll probably be a japanese car based on the overwhelming amount of japanese cars in the game...

keep in mind that most of the cars in GT5 are from GT4, so whatever worked for you in GT4 has a pretty good chance of doing good in GT5...

I really like that idea! I think I'll do it too!

I'm surprised you win that much money in 2 kart races.

It's because its a special event. If you place 1st, you get the prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the same time. Seems as though you can only collect them once though...

MA-70 Supra (as always),
S13 or S14 Silvia K model
or An older STi or Evo

With that money you can get a Miata and tune it pretty good. Or just get a '10 Impreza WRX STi.

The problem is that you need higher driver level for high performance cars. Right after I earned 40 grand racing the karts, i had a Impreza WRX rally car available for just 35 or so thousand in the used car lot, but i could not buy it because i needed to be level 10 or 12 or something. As for tuning, thats what I did, bought a S2000 and started tuning, but the credits fly fast. Air intakes, exhaust, sports tires, chip and fully custom suspension was my priorities, but it set me back about 30,000 just for the tuning.

Well I do like the idea of getting my hands on an S2000 early on. I was disappointed it wasn't in Prologue (if you don't count the Amuse). I might do what you did.

Seems like a good idea to get on my way, especially for someone who is going in blind. This is my first Gran Turismo game, so I don't really have any strategy. Will definitely be looking here in the coming days for first car tips (as well as second and third :))

It looks like the s 2000 is level 3? How hard is it to get to level 3? If you don't get all golds on license test( say mostly bronze) would you still be able to but they honda?

I think I was at level 4 after the N-B lisence and the the first level gokart races. (Bronze on all exept one in the license test)

Edit: It took about 20 - 30 min.

Mercedes SLS AMG Stealth Model :D

That's a preorder item, you're still going to have to buy it in the game though, and it will not be cheap. Preorder car codes just unlock the car in the game, they wont just hand you some uber powerful car right at the beginning of the game.

TrB, can you clarify which S2000 you bought and for how much.

This hasn't actually confirmed anywhere, has it?
