Probably i'll start with a VW golf , just like i did in GT4 and GTPSP .

I'd really want to kick in with an BMW E30 or an E36 though :D hope they make it into the game .

Has there been any "official" confirmation, or screenshots or videos that confirm used cars will be in this game? Not seen anything but perhaps looking in the wrong places. I really hope so, as I found the used car dealers a lot of fun, especially the exclusive cars that would only come around occasionally, plus exclusive paint jobs etc.

Also (threadjacking a little here but I can't start a new thread yet) has there been similar confirmation of an offline split screen 2 player mode? And might this include AI cars too? Someone confirmed yes in another thread but didn't say where they got their facts from.

Only other little thing i am hoping for is complete offline hot lap/time trial record tables, the previous games only held the best 10 times per track, not much use when you want to compare the slower cars!

I own a VW Golf so I might start with that just for kicks. Although when push comes to shove I might go for something a little racier

See below, quote from our very own Blitz

- There was a photo of the GT5 menu being displayed and it showed the following choices:

  1. A- Spec
  2. B-Spec
  3. Special Events
  4. Licences
  5. Used Car lot
  6. Dealerships
  7. GT Auto
  8. Practice
  9. Tuning Shop
  10. Photo Travel
  11. Official Events
  12. Car Delivery
  13. Open Lobby

The Car Delivery option was something new for me. I have no idea what it means and I also forgot to ask.

I would like to start off with American, but most likely it will be a used Japanese car. I will probably spend an our looking through the numbers and see which car has the best stats. I wish there was a way you could test drive cars before buying them.

So wait, can someone clear me up on this. The special cars, like Gamestop's Nascar and Stealth Mclaren F1 in addioin to the chrome cars will all be availabl from the start in the simulation garage? Not just arcade? Or is it just we're assuming it'll be availabe for the sim garage?

Cuz if thats the case then damn, many of us have it made from the begging unless you want to give yourself the challenge of starting from scratch.

IMO the Pre order bonus cars and CE/SE cars will only be avalible in arcade mode. Makes sence with the way the PSP and prologue garages only transfer to arcade mode. Either they want you working your way up or they don't.

The grey area for me is if they let you transfer any credits from PSP or Prologue ala GT3 to 4. I really hope they do.

Hopefully either:

or:

Failing that, the fastest car I can get with the starting credits (and any money I can transfer, if at all, from GT5P)

I voted Japan but really have no clue until I see what is available. In GT4 I started with a used RX7 the first time and a used MX5 the second time around.

I saw one car list that had a 69 XR7 Eliminator on it. This was a bogus list and I doubt we will see this car but if it is there I will have it at the first possible oppertunity for sure and I will drive the wheels off it :)

I will start with one of the cars I get from my DLC.

Either a Mitsubishi Evo 1 as I did for GT 4, or a Mark III Toyota Supra non-turbo which was my first car in GT 1. I tend to buy Japanese cars to start off with, so i'll probably stick with it for GT 5.

I'll shop around and keep my options open. Depending on starting cash and what the prices are, I will probably start out with a Mustang. Properly set up suspension wise, they handle amazingly.

I wonder if the ACR(?) Neon will be on GT5 and in used car lot, if so I will give it a shot

Well, for GT4 I started with a Mitsubishi FTO :ouch: which was... rubbish... although that may have been the fact that I was used to taking tight hairpin turns on NFS at 100mph. Even better, it had white plastic rims which were completley solid except for four holes in the middle. So I couldn't help myself wasting money on new rims for that car.

In my most recent GT2 save I started with an old Silvia Ks, and tuned it to the point it was a crazy thing with 300bhp but still handled somehow. I may start with that again or I might go for a used euro hatchback. A golf or old Focus maybe?

I would ideally start with a MKV Jetta 2.5 5-speed. But if not, I will hopefully start with a Golf MKV. I'd like a car similar to mine that I can keep from beginning to end. I'm going to delete my Prologue saves on the GT5 release date in order to prevent any credit/car transfer. ;)

Starting with a slow car is most of the fun and that is, in my mind, the true GT experience.

Has the "credit" amount been disclosed yet? I'm probably going for a Japanese RWD or AWD setup first.

I'll do whatever I have to do to raise enough funds to purchase a Mustang GT. I'll use it to compete in everything in which it can be competitive. By the time I need more speed, I should have enough for a Ford GT.

I'm guessing it would be 10,000 Cr to start off with. I think there will be enough decent used cars available under that price, although most of them might be Japanese.

Sounds like you have a plan to enjoy a wide variety of vehicles, huh?

Some screenshots are suggesting 35K instead. :indiff:

Obviously, since those two cars alone will be able to compete, and win, in every single race in the entire game.

I wasn't aware that my second car had to be vastly different from my first car. I also didn't know that I wasn't allowed to use my first car as much as I pleased, especially early in the game, when cash isn't as widely available to purchase the plethora of other vehicles that I also desire.

I know PD has been a little slow in releasing details, but is there a new feature that prevents you from entering later races if you didn't use enough "different" cars in your first X number of races? Or, is it no longer going to be allowed for us to enter previously beaten races with a different car?

I can see how my playing experience might suffer if you hadn't been so polite as to point out to me that I wasn't getting enough variety out of my first two vehicle purchases.

Thanks!

Definitely a Japanese car.
They always had the best price-performance ratio in the previous games.

If possible I'd get a Mk III Supra Twin-Turbo or a Mitsubishi GTO.
