I have to say I didn't know that..If that is true I may aswell start off with my Sig. cars...Evo VI + stage 2 turbo has 380hp,an Audi R8 V8 has 414hp,as does the orange M3 which also comes with the Sig/CE editions (assuming its not the GTR) not alot of difference really.

I'm starting with a Mazda Miata, its tradition. I started with the Miata in GT3, GT4, and will again in GT5. That little car is a hell of a workhorse and easy to tune with great results. Sure I could go to the used car lot and pick up an Evo or something, but I'm a grinder, starting out in the small Miata is fun for me.

When I had the bonus and pre-order cars for Forza 3, it only made them available to purchase, NOT given free or placed in your garage. I can only assume that there would be a similar situation in GT5. As for starting your GT carreer with nothing and working your way up, either sell the cars or exercise self-control.

Easier said then done he he. I plan on pre-ordering the collectors edition to get the McLaren F1, but I still plan to start the game with a Miata as I stated earlier. I just want to have a rare car so that when I make it to that level of cars in the game not too many people will have it. But the temptation to use it may be too great so I may just get the regular edition, unless these downloadable cars can only be accessed by redeeming a code on PSN (I heard they will be) then I have no worries. I'm lazy @ going to the PSN store to download stuff, so I will just not use the code until I'm ready. If the McLaren is already gona be parked in my garage then thatys a problem for me honestly.

aww be strong! i'm planning to only drive my "stealth" F1 and 787B when i am able to buy the stock versions...i love building up from a basic car (and it's so gonna be an MX-5 or old Supra as in previous games)

MustangRyan - Good luck in the specific events/tournaments that are dependent on power, nationality of the car, where the engine is situated, which wheels are driven etc. I'm guessing you haven't played the previous games, you might need to relax a little as you won't get very far with one natiionality and one make. And if it's a US thing you might want to look into the origins of the GT a little further

The McLaren comes with the pre-order doesn't need to be the collectors edition. I pre-ordered the standard from Gamestop and it comes with the stealth McLaren as well as the Camry Nascar.

Now I do not know if these will be garage cars or will be available for purchase with in game credits. I hope it is the latter as that will curb the temptation to run the Sunday cup with the F1

I still remember back in the day, the very first GT game, rented from the Blockbuster I worked at before it was actually available to the public. My first car was a used Mitsubishi 3000GT. I really liked that car. This time though, I'll probably pick a cheap Ford Focus or something similar. As I recall, Ford didn't participate in that first GT game, but they did in the second.

Something old, japanese and hopefully not very good! I always enjoy the early stages of the GT games best, when your struggling to make tiny amounts of credits to do small upgrades. As soon as you start making decent money the temptation to use over powered cars to easily win events is just too much and spoils the game a bit IMO.

I wasn't aware that my second car had to be vastly different from my first car. I also didn't know that I wasn't allowed to use my first car as much as I pleased, especially early in the game, when cash isn't as widely available to purchase the plethora of other vehicles that I also desire.

I know PD has been a little slow in releasing details, but is there a new feature that prevents you from entering later races if you didn't use enough "different" cars in your first X number of races? Or, is it no longer going to be allowed for us to enter previously beaten races with a different car?

I can see how my playing experience might suffer if you hadn't been so polite as to point out to me that I wasn't getting enough variety out of my first two vehicle purchases.
