Bought the kart, as there wasn't an EG SiR or '91 Prelude in the Used Cars dealership. Completed some License Tests and Special events. Got gifted the EG SiR did a handful of Beginner and Amateur races with prize cars. Am currently sitting on 470k credits, but still no sign of the Prelude. At this rate, I'll have saved up for a McLaren F1 before I get that damn thing. So much for my preferred starting car.

:grumpy:

What are you talking about? You can actually win the normal races like sunday cup and all the beginner ones in a kart instead of a car :S?

OR do they have only special races for karts, and you still need to end up doing all the other races anyway?

Yeh theres special races for the karts....THEIR AWESOME!!! if you have ever raced a kart before irl you should love this. The prize pot for winning is pretty good too!

I started with a '97 Civic Type-R Premium in silver. I think it's really good first car.

Grabbed the same one in white. Mainly because I didn't want to go with a crappy standard used car and to me it looked like the best of the available premiums.

Does anyone know if I can sell the car and package the cash with my winnings to purchase another one? It keeps telling me that I can't sell a car that I'm driving but I can't figure out how to "get out" of it.

I got a brand new MX5 Eunos, got her up to 235hp shes been good to me, but now I dont have much use for herl after 5 hours of gameplay with her, until some online competition comes along.

Yes but I don't want my first gt5 experience to be in karts :)

If it was kart vs normal cars then that would be fun.

went for the Civic R Ek9 because;

a) i genuinely love those cars so being able to afford one from the get-go was nice
b) it was the most powerful/lightest Premium car you can afford for under 20k

i started with a 1970s Golf MK 1 GTI 100bhp!

its amazing i can literally drive around all corners without having to brake and completely annihalate the opposition in the early cups.

Ditto, though it only got used for a few races.

99 mr2 from the used section. used it for the sunday cup and then started using anything i won from license tests and other races. still debating whether or not im going to spend an all nighter tonight or not

Honda Ballade Sports CR-X 1.5i '83 from the used car section. It's winning races, money and cars for me. 👍 I won't go far with it but its a great starter.

I really love the Karts, its a whole new driving experience and a ton of laughs. A must get in my mind. :)

If only I had found that car, it's one of my favorites! I ended up grabbing a Honda Civic SiR-II (EG) '91 for my first car, and it's doing great stock! I think I am going for a Mustang for my first purchased new car.

I started with one I hadn't seen (even in GT4) - 99 Hyundai Tiburon Turbulence. Not bad - dumped some money into it and cranked 221bhp out of it. Fast enough for my taste.

The best option of the premiums (bang for buck) was the EK4 Honda Civic Type R. Its right on the $20k budget and it has 180+bhp standard. Plus it handles great and it mowed over all the opponents.

I'm finding the beginner events stupidly easy its not even fun. But thats why they are beginner events right? :)

I started with the kart, but then realized I couldn't use it in any events, so I went straight to B licenses. Technically, my first car that I bought that I could use was the EVO from 05

Honda Familia(sp?) Sport in the used car section. Was quite suprised at it, got me through the events I could use it for 👍

Started with the '76 GTi. I figured something low-powered but quite light would be a good starting point, and I didn't seem my normal GT starter, the CR-X.

I started with a civic, now have an EVO

Anyone else sat at work / school etc thinking about their garage, game progress what they are going to buy, what challenge to do next how to improve xyz etc etc etc!!!

Cant wait to get back on it tonight!

i got the Honda Civic 98 EK9 Type R because the game bugged me about getting a used car

but i am driving anyone of my 11 DLC cars(mainly SLS AMG for now)

I didn't get my game yet (it should arrive during next week - I bought the CE), but I think it could be somewhat frustrating to go over the list by entering each manufacturer and find out that the prices are too high for a started car.

Is there some-where a full car list along with their prices? Or- are the cars in the game can be sorted by price?

I started with a decrepid Nissan Silvia Q Aero. I built up my level a bit and won a kart, sadly it wouldn't let me take on proper cars with it so I bought myself a Honda Civic Type R.

Started with a Mini 1.3i '98 in Hawaiian Blue. Spent all night adding extras to it for the rally courses, it's a fantastic little machine - practically a Mini ERA.

Haven't bought anything else yet, I plan on maxing it out with all the modifications available before I do. It's brilliant fun, sounds like a modded Mini and more importantly it drives like a Mini.

It's a shame the body styling can't be changed, or the rims - but on the other hand it's a deceptive looking little thing :D
