What's going on? Any ideas please? Im freaking out here...

Thank you.

EDIT: Solved by loging in after game loaded, from main menu.

Thanks sarvets1979.

Kinda did it manually but in a different way - worked. I signed out of PSN, loaded the game, signed in at the main menu, then updated it.

Cheers.

I ended up doing it this way by accident; works now. Anyone else notice the M4 Super Lap is extended until 2/10 but originally it was to end on 1/17 & the track has also been changed to Willow Springs. I also lost my trophy so does that mean I'm able to win another M4?

Hi guys, 1st post here. Same problem with 1.03. Triple-beep/shutdown/file verification blah blah.

My auto updates were turned off already so when I got the message I hit 'back' and GT6 started up as normal. Went to the in-game 'Notification' page and it's updating now.

Thanks for the help tho and looks like a great resource. I'll be back for sure.

Happy racing from here in Oz (home of Mt Panorama) :)

too all ps3 users...

shut off automatic system update.MANUALLY downoad the latest ps3 system update. then start gt6 and it should update should start.

system crashed on me until I did this

try it!.
How do you shut off automatic system update?

The M4 Super Lap is a new event from what I understand, not a continuation of the other M4 Super Lap. This one was done because they modeled the full interior of the car, so wanted another chance for folks to be able to win the M4 again.

We have discovered an issue where some users may experience the following problem during the download of Update (1.03), released on 14 January.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
When Gran Turismo 6 is launched while connected to PSN, a message will appear on screen informing the users that "the latest update data for this software has been found (Version 1.03)".

2.
Once accepted (by pressing the X button while selecting [OK]), a “Please wait...” message will be displayed. After a few seconds, the PlayStation®3 system will emit 3 acoustic signals and restarts automatically.

3.
At this point, some users may receive a message stating that the system was not shut down correctly last time. The system will ask then to perform a system file check and then the reboot is completed.

4.
Users will be prompted again to download Update 1.03, whether they received the message in step 3 or not.

Procedure to avoid this issue:
To avoid this issue, please accept to download the Update by selecting [OK] within 2 seconds of its appearance on screen when prompted. This will update the game properly.

If you wait longer than 2 seconds, please decline the Update by pressing the Circle button when the message in step 1 is displayed, then select [Back] in the subsequent "Sign-In to PSN" screen. The game will start, quit the game using the PS button while in the [My Home] screen and follow the procedure described above.

Guess I'll just sell the 2nd one I already own/won one.

The prize money for the two new seasonal races is back to a low amount compared to 1.02 That's kind of a bummer, guess PD/Sony said enough of the fun money back to grinding.

I found another way, to those crashes.
After couple tryes, I used my sons Ps3 profile, he haven´t played GT6.
Uppdate was downloaded, without any problems. After that I quit game and changed to my own profile.

1.03 updated just fine for me through the normal process. Another thing I noticed in this update is that when you change the settings on the power limiter for races it gives the PP of the car changes with it so no more guessing the percentages on whether you can enter a race without breaching regulations. Not too shabby!

Posts 2 and 3 worked for myself as well. I signed out of PS network, then started the game, it requested PSN login I opted out, it requested the update 1.03 be done and I opted out. Then I went to seasonal events and selected, then I opted in for signing in to PSN and for the update, it went off without a hitch. Thank you Gentlemen!

WARNING! I tried the same trick but by simply unplugging my router, and I had to re-set up my network settings, don't do it, use the instructions from above or the 2 and 3 posts.

Instead of messing with settings I found a faster way. As soon as it prompts you to update click yes. If you don't click yes within 2 seconds it will crash when you try.

Me too. Tried another PS3 and it loaded just fine. I then tried a duplicate GT6 and it also crashed. That means there is a difficulty with the PS3s that crash. Inquiring minds want to know...WHY ?
Crash (USAF Tactical call sign not racing related)

Read my earlier post. It's a known problem with a working fix from PD. Just follow the instructions and it will work fine 👍

PD's '2 second' fix (if you can call it a fix) worked for me after the update crashed my system upon first trying to update to 1.03, so give that a go before you try anything else.

However, it's still frustrating that there have been similar issues with two consecutive update releases (system crashes make me nervous!).

I couldn't hit OK fast enough as my wheel was spinning around on game start. I hit O and let the game come up offline and did it from "notifications" and hit OK quickly. Worked great.
