I've decided to go ahead and get it on the 360, at the end of the day I'll probably be getting the wheel for Forza 2 so I'll be able to use it with TD:U.

Man, this Tour of the Island race is LONG. 118 Miles, I'm heading to the 3rd out of 5 checkpoints and I'm already 26 minutes into the race.

Not sure mate - I'll crack on and get the GTP :UK club up and running tonight - Should be about 11ish when its done, I'll call it GTP :UK.

Im planning on staying up very very late tonight - I did until half 2 am last night, but I had to get up for work, it could be closer to 4am tonight !!!

Good work. I've got to work tomorrow but I'm going to try and stay up till at least 2. The Mrs is out tonight so hopefully she won't be in till late anyway.

Let me know what I have to do to join the club.
 
Im not sure exactly but I want to be clear that I will call the club.

I think you enter the name in where it says join club and I presume I must decide if I let you in or not - there must be some sort of control. Once its sorted I'll post up and see if I can attract some more UK GTP'ers

PHEW! I just finished the "Island Tour" race. 118 miles, 5 checkpoints, completed in 44 min 44.81 sec. $200,000 for winning the race, an achievement worth 30 gamer points, and I unlocked the Alfa Romeo 8c Competitizone. :)

I willl join the club once i have my 360 and my copy of TDU. Hopefully Gamestation will still have the deal on i saw advertised. Buy a xbox360 and get TDU for £20.
 
My copy will arrive Monday or Tuesday next week, I was going to go out and buy it today but I wouldn't get to play it until next week anyway between working, relationship commitments, football, the pub and mixed doubles badmiton*.

*Not in that order.
 
I think I'm gonna buy the official stratey guide for this game. Not for the actual guide, but for the huge pull out poster. :D

Since my girlfriend and I both play this I am going to get the strategy guide tonight too so we have the map. I am also picking up a memory card in case my game doesnt save again. It will be the first strategy guide I ever bought in my life. Shame they didnt sell the map with the game like with vice city or san andreas. Oh well. Even saints row doesnt have a map.

WOW that makes the Nurburgring look like nothing! Dang thats a long race!

It's a lot of fun though. I bet it would be more fun if you use a car that is pretty much on par with the rest of the group, though (Macca F1, Koenigsegggegegege CC8S, Saleen S7 TT etc... :crazy: ). I used a fully tuned ZX-10R (217MPH when tucked :)) and won by nearly 2 minutes.

Also, who's going to start the GTP US club?

I'll start it at one of the cheaper clubs (cheapest I've seen is $350,000 to start one) if no one else wants to.
 
It doesn't take long to get the supercars then, you lot have only had the game a couple of days :lol:.
 
It won't take long to buy the supercars if you keep doing big winning pot races and car/package deliveries and don't spend your money on anything. I've got something like $750k right now I think. One of these day's I'm gonna start saving up for the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato...$3,000,000. :crazy:
BTW, my second car was a Corvette Z06. 👍
 
Hmmm...I'm about to do the Millionaires Challenge. It's a 124 mile race around the island against the clock. Do it in under 1 hour and you get $1 million :) You gotta use an A class car, so I bought the Koenigseggegegegegegegeg CC8S :) This should be easy since I did 118miles in 44 minutes on the Ninja, so going faster in the CC8S should let do it in around the same time.
 
I like the idea of these long races, is there a lot of them?
 
So far, I've done 3 long races. One was a drive through the middle of the island (race the clock), one was the 118 mile race against the Macca F1's and CC8S's and the one I'm doing now which is the 124 mile race against the clock.

All of the delivery/courier missions are kinda long. The shortest I've seen was about 10 miles and the longest so far has been 37 miles I think.

Just got it this morning here in the UK. It would seem the UK/EU game comes with a map. One side shows locations in Honolulu and the other gives a grid reference for the whole island. Can't find the Lexus Car Dealer yet though I have found Triumph. Currently I'm just cruising around. Done one Car Delivery (the Noble M14).

Edit: I have found the Lexus Showroom but it's not open!
 
Maybe the Lexus dealership will open with downloadable content.
 
Well I've been playing for the last six hours. I started off with the Audi TT and won most of the easy races with it. Second car I bought was the Lotus Espirit V8 (love that noise). I also bought one of the Mustang convertibles to use for some of the Class E races. Also purchased a Lamborghini Gallardo just before I finished playing.

I can't believe the US version didn't come with a map. It's really useful having it next to you when touring the island.

Can't wait to get back on this tomorrow.
