The Australian guy and his (stolen) retail copy of GT5. Legit or fake ?

Thats a good point 👍

If you truly went to all that trouble to fake it the last place you would post it up would be a totally unrelated site which isn't anything to do with the game. You would want the full exposure and post it here. But maybe he's been super smart and done this on purpose so we would find it!

No I think it is a good point, plus, if it was not legit sony would not have Jordan remove it. If it was fake, no one would care...

I'd just like to know why there was the need to remove the disc picture from the news page, when it's still there in all it's glory on SONY's official forums ?

SONY don't seem to be bothered about it being on their forums, so why is GTPlanet so worried about it being on their's ?

If I didn't know better I'd say it was a ploy to generate traffic, but I know better ;)

How do you know someone else didn't ask him to take it down? Who cares really, because you can still see it elsewhere.

I think it's legit though. The warping text is what has already been explained as the lens distortion of a camera. It doesn't even look like the disc is laying on his lap either. The text and all the logos look legit. The ONLY thing that would deem this fake is the background image. A wheel? I'd expect something from the SLS AMG on the disc, not a shot like this. I expected the disc art to be alot nicer.

That's interesting! *Checks Sony Forums*

Crooked text! It's like the PS3 Slim all over again.

I'm sure this must have been suggested already but the guy who took the photo might have asked for it to be taken down for the same reason he edited the posts on his forum.

I actually noticed that the pic was taken down, but not removed from the database. The link to the image still worked after Jordan took it down.

EDIT: Link does not work anymore.

This threads usefulness has run its course in my opinion (it was after the very first post).

Maybe he just decided to remove it himself because he doubts it's legit or he questions the legitimacy of obtaining it when the copy is real.
It may not be pressure from Sony or PD but the etiquette of this site he's worried about when the copy is illegally obtained.
Or a completely different reason we can only guess after, best to just wait for now as we can be sure he does the best he can to sort it out.

Perhaps you're right. Here it is on Sony's forum:

Just wondering, has the guy found a PS3 to pop the disc in and show the world the real goods, or is he still saying his PS3 is broken and can't find a friend's PS3 to play it?

There's two ways to look at this. Either the disc is fake, or Sony already busted down this guy's house and is getting ready to sue his *** because his real name is all over the web. In any case, if new information doesn't come out, then there's no point in discussing whether the disc is real or not.

hopefully i wont get any flack for posting this, but some of the lettering seems crooked on the "disc"
found this on another forum
the PD logo is strait, the blueray logo is not
the dobly and gt5 logo are also crooked
the fine print slants down, the blueray and dobly slant up

The disc is at an angle.

I think the guy is full of ****ing ****!

Just get the damn game on the shelves yamaguchi!

I thought the guy was banned from the forum he was posting on?

If the guy is nifty enough to get a pre-release copy of GT5, then he should definitely have access to a PS3.

Guys, I'm about to call Sony or PD to see if they will tell me when GT5 is coming out...

Hey man, I missed this, can you quote it or tell me where Jordan said this? Thanks.

Geez...can we lay off Jordan about "News"? It's not like Jordan's the Australian dude that has the GT5 disc. The guy who originally posted the GT5 disc up hasn't posted anything new yet, so there's nothing to post. It's not like Jordan can make something up and pass that off as info. By the way, here's some guy putting in the GT5 disc in the PS3. Enjoy. :)

His disk doesn't look the same.

Besides, why aren't people raving on about this guy instead?

It is not real, lol.

God, lol.

It is some random video on that disc with text giving us all crap.

Because it's is proven fake, watch the video and you would know that. This other disc hasn't been proven fake so people are drawn to it because it might be the real thing.

Im pretty sure we are not going to get any more info from that guy. He didn't expect it to blow up so big when he first post the pic of the disc. Unfortunately for us it blew up before he even posted vids of the game running on his mates PS3. If i was him I'd lay low until at least GT5 gets released.
