Is there any noise about a 400m speed test turning up? For me this was the single most enjoyable part of Gran Turismo, even without drag battles as an option. Always tweaking and chasing that personal best quarter mile time..

I don't understand.....

Kaz himself said that the only things coming to GT6 are the course maker and new cars (most likely Vision GT's.) So nope.

Gotta get those priorities straight Kaz. Don't you see all the people forced to drag using ghosts at Indy, crowding around like a bunch of homeless people.
*whines and cries some more*

Drags....LOL...Press and hold X. A lot of talent necessary. Those are the profiles that read 60 stars, 9 cars owned, 11% game completion, and 483.9 miles driven

It's more about talent concerning transmission, differential and even suspension tweaking with the drags, not holding down X. True in any kind of racing but drags are the most setup dependent of all.

Sure anybody can be reasonably competent, but to be great you need to revise so many settings over and over to push that extra .001 of a second out of the car.

Rather than relying partially on your driving skill to win like a circuit race, you have to rely on your tuning skill.

But it doesn't sound like you can relate to that.

I'm not gonna sit here and defend drag racing as a sport though, you can think what you like.

Just try to keep an open mind.

Do it.

I promise you won't be upset.

And I recommend Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, as well as Tokyo Xtrems Racer Drift 2.

Which can be bought off amazon of course for decent deals. 1-10 us dollars depending on condition.

And then play GT2 to 101.25%, with your garage arranged in the perfect order for you. It will make you happy inside.

Kind of sad how summer is nearing the end for many (school, work, etc.) and the course maker is still not here. It's pathetic to simply put it.

Yep i totally agree! Now lost all faith in PD it has taken them far to long to complete a game that was not finished upon released, close to finishing soon after then almost finished over 18 months ago.

I now don't care what the reason is for the delay, excuses are excuses and its gone on far too long!

I now believe PD = Pathetic Developers

Summer should have been a haven for content release.

PD doesn't even have a news, let alone content. And now look at the GT community nowadays. They are broken, crapsack, and basically spreading hate and jealousy to other members.

No offense to Ameers cruise club, of course :P

I'm bored with GT6. The Seasonals are just the same thing over and over. A-spec challenge, Time trial, Rinse, Repeat. What's the point of having tons of cars and credits, with no events to use them in? When is this game going to get a refresher?
There's that Bugatti VGT thing going on. :D Yeah, I know, another fantasy car. Just what GT6 needed after the WHOLE summer.....

The game is at the end of it's life cycle, that much is obvious. The VGT program hasn't panned out as expected, with the majority of the cars being late and I suspect many may not arrive at all for GT6. Instead of releasing a few real cars that they have ready to go for GT7, you get nothing. You paid good money for the game, PD relied on the VGT to see them through for DLC and then gave you nothing when they failed to deliver on that promise. It shows a disconcerting lack of care and concern for the fanbase IMO. One could say it's approaching arrogance.

Pretty strong anti-sentiment, and I don't agree about the remaining VGT cars not making an appearance on GT6. The following manufacturers on the GT website have some type of teaser image leading me to believe the concept is probably already finished, we're just waiting for PD to turn them into functioning vehicles and/or already have their release dates in mind:

  • Ford
  • Honda
  • Hyundai
  • Giugiaro
  • Nike
  • Tesla
  • Zagato
  • Bugatti (confirmed)
These may have stalled, but you never know. Maybe they'll make it, maybe not:

  • Audi
  • Daihatsu
  • GM Design (I'm thinking this will be released)
  • Jordan
  • Lamborghini
The only feature I'm getting impatient about is the course creator. Legal hold up or not, we need some type of news about its release.

212 pages in, I think we should have a good idea. I'd whine or cry about something, but I think it should be pretty much covered by now & I really don't feel like going back to see what could have been missed. I guess since I'm still playing the problem is mine...

I think that was the point.
Well the only real option is to leave GT6 for good like numerous people here :(

Sadly, all of the new racing games are for PS4 or XBone, which means i have to go to my friends house just to play it casually. SOON, i buy PS4 for Driveclub, XBONE For Forza Horizon 2 (Not sure about Forza 6,lets see), or either of them for PCars. At this state, i play fully modded rFactor on my PC.

I bought a PS4 & PCars. I can't get a handle on that controller set up, I wreak constantly. Down loaded Drive Club same funky controller set up. I'm to old & lazy too bother messing with it. I'll just have to buy a wheel for them. Of course I'm also a penny pinching codger so I'm waiting for a deal. GT6 is like old broken in shoes, ugly, tattered, but comfortable. I hate breaking in new shoes...

The usual suspects thread?

Ah, ad hominems already.

This is the one thread on the entire forum where people are rightly supposed to voice their negativity about GT6, and in which it's inappropriate to bring people down for doing so.

Would you like to go to the praising and crying thread too and tell them that they shouldn't be enjoying the game? Why even come in here if you're just going to be contrary?

There is just one thing I despise about GT6 that I would happily moan and cry about for ages and ages. STOCKYARD! I would much rather have no thumbnails, or longer loading times than that stupid stockyard. It has interrupted the fun of collecting cars. You just cant do it no more, well you can but its just not as fun anymore. Maybe if there wasn't a Stockyard, GT6 would have something left in it. The joy of collecting cars and taking part in more races to earn credits to buy the cars then tune them. 500 car limit, what a stupid idea. My opinion, of course.

My only problem with GT6 is that it is a little dark compared to GT5. The rest of the issues don't really bother me anymore and I knew beforehand what to expect. Advantages of actually waiting for a game to be released, get fixed and get a price drop, seriously, you guys wouldn't believe how much easier life is by doing so.

It's better than 5 and definitely the best that the PS3 could do so I guess PD hasn't really "failed" at anything. It isn't the end of GT either. It's just the end of the PS3. When 7 gets an official release all will be forgiven, I already know how people work around here, me, I'll just wait and see.

i really feel like posting into this thread today
i don't like to give all negative vibes about the game we love, enough people are doing so ;)
but it is not possible anymore so i have to let my disapointement go somewhere ...

i had a few month break from the game and i was bummed to get back at it when i saw nothing happened

-nothing new for months ! and VGTs are not an answer but a curse to me
-online still the hell of a laggy mess
-still no shuffle
-course maker ? come on now...you got us all with this one, Kaz
-quick matches are ok ...when they work and when people behave or drive something else than the best car
( ie: the 350PP autumn ring and elises... )

PD, please get your stuff together

Well I've finally reached the point of venturing into this thread so you know things are bad in "GT" land for me.

[whiningandcrying] So fricking tired of coming here to check the headlines every now and then and seeing 72,645 updates for every other game out there and only "Blahblah cars featured this week" for GT. Vision GT is great and all but the total lack of even any hint of info other than "soon" is just destroying the series for me. I've gone back to GT5 for any kind of fun but even then my rig is just collecting dust as there is just no good motivation to pull it out.

I've had more fun with Minecraft Pocket Edition on my tablet lately for god sake. Recently I got an x360 RROD for free that I'm going to fix and get Forza just for something new. Good god Kaz you're driving me to the dark side.

Honestly, I'm getting ready to sell one of my motorcycles to raise the money for a good PC and walk away from GT completely for real.[\whiningandcrying]

Don't agree with wait till GT7 all will be forgotten and better.

NO IT WONT BE FOOLS

How many times do you have to be burnt to realise youre being screwed over?

GT5 was a flop, GT6 was a flop and with very little difference between the 2 it is a fair guess GT7 will be no good. Heck GT6 has the lowest sales in the franchise and 5 wasn't much better.

Know what though, i am eager for GT7 if only to see how much it fails is all the excitement I'll be getting from its ramped up hype. Allas I've came to being weary now of reviews after my purchase of a logitech g502 - all raved about it but all seemed to negate the fact as a gaming mouse its on the large side of laptop mice. Far too small to game with and the same happens time over time. The best is to wait and read the comments where the truth really is told.
