trouble is in "realistic" gt5 the skyline will no doubt stay with the mclaren all the way to 160mph

..... no, not even close

Put the R34 Skyline GTR up against other cars in GT5P, say the Audi R8 (much slower than the F1) and the R34 can't stay with it. GT4 is similar, except most high powered RWD cars have quite a bit of trouble getting off the line, the Skyline GTR has no trouble (note in the Mclaren vid the GTR gets infront off the line and sticks with the Mclaren for a moment for this reason).

GT might seem to have a Skyline bias but they don't misrepresent them like that.

I just hope that PD adds as many Ferrari and Lamborghini models as they do with Skyline models.

Found these renders of what the new MP4-12C would look like in a selection of racing colours.

They'll do for me.

Holy ****. That car ACTUALLY looks good now. It's far too "ugly" without those cool liveries. The MP4-12C resembles the F430 like no other, but it looks much more unique like that (livery).

This car look much better with rear wing and "gulf" or "marlboro" colors:drool:

I also like his longtail concept:

The only question: will PD model this car? They are known to model a lot of concept cars (Mazda Furai for example) and cars yet to be released. So this definitely has a chance and PD might as well take advantage of this "delay". They have the time so why not model it?!

As far as i'm aware these are not official McLaren concepts ( i think they were commissioned by a magazine) so to answer your question; i think not.
Although with the inclusion of the F1 the production model probably will be included, so a PD concept could be ( or a McLaren concept ofcourse ).

Yep they aren't official concepts but I think we're all hopeful the road car will be in the game.

which road car?

I'd be surprised if we didn't.

Ditto. We can only hope for more now that it has been pushed back. How much we can hope is unknown, but ONE car model should be on that list.

If Kaz wants to put every car in game then this game would never come out. But i would want to drive Marussia.

Yea, 1,000 has already taken too long!

Here's a picture of both the "new one" and the "old one" in exactly the same colour, so you can easily compare them.
Look at how the MP4-12C takes some styling cues from the F1.

And here is the Caparo T1, developed by engineers who also worked on the original F1 and started their own company.

By the way, Gordon Murray ( who designed the F1 ) also apparantly helped with the development of the Caparo ( he also designed the Rocket, a two-seater where you sit behind the driver ) and he wasn't impressed by both the Veyron ( too different from his philosophy regarding what a pure driver's car should be ) and the new MP4-12C ( claiming it will probably be a disappointment compared to the F1 as it, amongst other things he pointed out, has a turbocharged engine ), ouch.......

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since the last time I posted on these forums.
We are all aching from anticipation while waiting for this game to finally come out...

I have some interesting news:

A colleague of mine, whom is onsite at Mclaren Hq in Woking England, blew me out of the water when he told me that he saw a Gran Turismo crew there today.

They were a large group of Japanese employees (obviously) scanning and taking pictures of the Mp4-12c and the F1-GTR.

If a car takes 6 months of modeling; will this be downloadable content or will we see this game at the end of the year?

Discuss.

I think its either one of two options

a) They were taking more pictures to get a more accurate representation of the car, and didn't take enough last time

b) Downloadable content followed soon after the game's release.
IF it truly takes 6 months to model a single car, and McLaren was in the last batch of cars needed to be done, then I'd say we could see this game this year. (Yes I know there are more than 1 car being worked on at a single time)

But if they were just getting started to work on McLaren cars, then I highly doubt we will see this game in Q3, probably in Q4 hopefully.

In response to post 2:
My point wasnt that those cars will make it in the game. It's that the Polyphony crew was at Mclaren HQ TODAY, scanning and taking pics.
If the game is near completion, I do not see this as a good sign.

1. Did you not see the video of the F1?:dopey:

2. A thread already exists regarding McLaren and GT5.

It takes a single person 6 months.
Think for yourself, 1000 cars, 6 months each... wouldnt work right?

Is your friend sure it's PD? For one thing, McLaren have licensed this car out to everyone & according to my source, quite a few companies including TDU2's developer were with the car getting information.

Eden Games isnt Japanese. ;)
Perhaps you may want to read my post again.

I never said Eden was Japanese. I said they were one of the few companies who have already spent time with the MP4-12C. Read.

Yes, confirmed Polyphony studios were on site.
I agree about the 6 month period. They probably outsource some of the modeling or else it would be a copious task.
