The one in the picture is a '94 road car.

Tree'd by seconds.

Well, that makes more sense. All the LMs were just essentially GTRs with removed air restrictors.

Tiff was driving a road-converted race car if I'm not wrong (video where he also drives the owner's Enzo).

in the picture of the gameplay w/the McLaren F1 in it, it looks like the GT version with that ugly ass roof scoop.that would suck if just like Forza 3, the only McLaren F1 road car is the GT edition. It may be fun to drive but it's so much uglier in my opinion but I think if they're going to have the MP4-12C, they'll probably have all edition of the F1. I like the F1 LM best for the game bcuz it's faster but in real life I'd rather have the standard F1 bcuz of the interior. the F1 LM's interior is too stripped down for me to enjoy

The road car is confirmed in the lineup picture. The GT didn't exist until 1997 and it just says 1994 McLaren F1 in the lineup (which is the road car). And just from the demo pic you can tell it's the regular road car anyway.

The roof scoop does looks sort of big in the screen cap but it's terrible quality and is far away, but the GT roof scoop is even more noticeable than that. Furthermore, the bumper of the GT's body has a skirt around it and it sticks out, and the car is not only lower to the ground than the road car but its bonnet also dips down further. You can also see the F1 from the rear in the initial shot from that replay and it's not a longtail version. Anyway, here are some comparison pics. It's definitely the road car.

GTR 016R

Ex-Team Bigazzi car.

Was originally FINA liveried, but since then has been repainted to look like an LM and made road legal.

Such a shame when owners repaint the cars in Papaya Orange. I'm all for owners choice, but when they do this, the ruin the originality and they serve to confuse people as to the true identity of the car.

That's such a great bunch of cars! I'm so glad to see how much they've updated the car roster.

And for the record, the race would end like so:👍

1. McLaren F1

2. Corvette ZR1 (+4.000)

3. Dodge Viper ACR (+4.500)

4. McLaren Mercedes SLR (+5.250)

5. Ferrari 458 Italia (+5.750)

6. GTbyCitroen (+6.000)

7. Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 (6.250)

8. Lotus Esprit V8 (+10.000)

Um, by today's standards, the F1 would probably closer to 4th/5th with the ZR1, Gallardo, & ACR up top.

Nah, it wouldn't. Tokyo R246 is a power circuit and speed would be too much of a factor. The F1 has comparable times to the Ferrari Enzo around a track, and none of those cars would top the Enzo around Tokyo. Not to mention the F1 starts on pole and the other cars would have to first get past it. If they can even get next to it in the corners, they'd have to say goodbye once they reach the next straight.

well now you know, and knowing is half the battle!!!

^ GI-Joe!!!!

BT-> Hmm, the Mac in the Nurbie shot looks totally different compared to the *Base* model; somethings telling me that is the GT model. And the R246 shot is the *Base* model. So which means that there are two Mac's in the GT5:CES '10!!!!

And on that same track, a Superleggera is right behind at .5 seconds. Considering the LP560-4 & the Superleggera are pretty even cars, I'd say the Gallardo & the ZR1 will have no real issues keeping up.

That would be amazing to visit!

There's a supercar museum in Nagoya??? I spent a whole month living with my brother in Nagoya last year and I only find this out now??????

Edit: Worst bit? My brother actually lives in Fujigaoka....7 minutes by bus away from it! Honest to God, I feel a little sick right now...:banghead:

I think it's clear the ZR1, VIPER ACR, and LP560-4 and McLaren are the frontrunners. Then the 458 and SLR not too far behind. And then the rest would follow

For the top 3 spots, it would probably come down to the driver and how he shifts, brakes, etc.

Nah, it's definitely the road car in the Nurb shot:

I never specified a track (I was talking about Tokyo), but I assume you mean the Top Gear track. On that track the Veyron pulls a 1'18.3 in a very conservative lap, so I'm sure the F1 would be able to do something similar if not better (slightly slower on the straights but maybe quicker during the corners). And regardless, the F1 would be faster than any other car on that starting grid during the straights, and Tokyo has many.

If one version of F1 is in there, chances are they all are, which begs the question, why did T10 drop the ball?

That's what I've been wondering too. There has to be something up with the F1's licensing, but it's still a surprise that PD got it and not T10. I can't think of any games outside of NFS and TDU that had the McLaren F1 road car. As for the LM, I know PGR4 had it but I'm not sure what else.

The fact that Forza has McLarens but not the road car or the LM is very odd. Obviously the FINA GTR has relations with BMW but the other ones (GTR and GT) don't as far as I'm aware. The McLaren logo also fully appears in the game.

Either way, it's great news for Gran Turismo. The next step would be the LM and then I'd be good for sure. We'll definitely get the FINA GTR and while the GT would be cool too I'm not too worried about that.

Supercar challenge only has the roadcar, and no other varients as well. Surely the licences can't be seperate, can they? :nervous:

The only track where the F1 & Enzo have had times together is Bedford West, which is a power circuit as well. That's the track I am referring to & the one where the Gallardo S. was not left behind.

Tokyo only has 2 large straights, with the back one having a kink in it.

There are a good amount of new videos there as well.

Forza has an F1 road car, it's the F1 GT road car and then it has a selection of F1 GTR Longtail race cars. Turn 10 probably just chose to model the GT over the standard F1. Here's hoping GT5 has both.

This car should make a perfect project for the 300 miles per hour club. But me, I think I'll keep mine factory standard.
