This car should make a perfect project for the 300 miles per hour club. But me, I think I'll keep mine factory standard.

Many believe the car would break 250 if it had a longer 6th or even a 7th gear as the 240 top came in on the downside of the power curve. As long as some decent tuning options are available it shouldn't be too hard.

Iam planning on keeping one standard and having another 2 for racing, really looking forward to hitting some of the enduros in it.

So not too much tuning needed. That's excellent. a few simple modifications and Its set for enduros. Can't wait to belt it's brains out around Sarthe (old school version without the chicanes).

That and something reguarly overlooked when these speeds are being discussed, the tyres might not hold out. Tyre's that can cope with speesd over 250 are more often than not no good on a road car. That's why the Veyron was capped at 252, because any faster and the tyre's might get unstable, and if they changed the tyre's to cope with higher speeds they would of been hampering the cars ride and performance in other areas.

I don't much care for porsches so it makes no difference to me if they are in or not.

Best reveal since NASCAR+WRC, in my opinion!

Can't wait to drive this car when GT5 comes out :D

I've never driven an F1 nor ever will so using that won't be the same as using a gt3 or a 4s.

So with this McLaren being in, does it look likely that the MP4-12C will be in?

I'm 100% sure it's in but there is no confirmation.

Good question. It doesn't need to be in the game for me, personally. But if McLaren is representing itself, I'd expect it. Too bad the F1 overshadows it in every way, but it would still be nice to see the MP4-12C added.

Who cares? I had never even heard of that car before this thread was started.

If it sounds like this we're in for a real treat:

Full throttle near end of clip, OMG! I think I wet myself.

I just bought a new car the other day, got myself a good deal on the trade in too :sly:

Now I just wonder how long does it take to get used to sit in the middle of a car.. :p:p:p:p:p

? So is GT the only reason you know anything about cars?

I care because I knew about the car way before this thread, also they have already made one incredible super car and I'd like to see what they do this time.

if the F1 sounded like the video in GT5 i would go into shock. But still the sound has improved greatly over prologue let alone GT4

Who cares....? A lot of people care, just because you haven't heard of it, many of us have. It's Mclarens (not joint with Mercedes) all new Supercar.

Would be fun but the F1 would beat all of those except the Veyron and maybe the CCXR lol. Still fun though. :P

There are a couple of modern supercars that have more consistent acceleration than the F1. Of the ones mentioned I agree, the Veyron beats it across the boad, from 0-60 onwards the Veyron is faster. I would guess the CCXR would win though I've not double checked the figures. The X220 would be interesting though as the 220's late acceleration is often described as brutal even compared to modern supercars. But the F1 would probably win that one and would definitely get an early lead, would be interesting either way though.

OT-> Hmm, I was noticing that besides the *base* model, all the love goes to the LM and no love towards the GT (road-spec), MP4-12C and the M6 GT. :(

BT-> But look into the bright side; since McLaren is now in GT, maybe all of the Mac cars thet were previously mentioned will be in the GT5. Now, lets bring back the F1 race car that was on GT3 with a proper livery:

^ I'm not interested of driving these cars in the near future when GT5 is released, it would be a great addition and a proper tribute to the famed Aryton Senna. :)👍

Wow, that's awesome! Totally didn't notice it was almost spot on the McLaren back then!

Go Marlboro livery!

Btw the car from the GT3 pic is the 1990 MP4/5b McLaren which is the 2nd car in the line, not the first (first = 1989 MP4/5). They're pretty similar anyway except for the sides of the monocoque and air vents. Although for some reason the MP4/5b's front wing isn't the sharp configuration like the MP4/5 that it was as well during the 1990 season (although maybe they changed it towards the end of the year, I can't remember).

A beautiful way to express and expose what everyone (almost ¬¬) feel and think SrRd RacinG ^_^
Cheers.

But wouldn't you agree that the McLaren F1 will beat 90-95% of production cars today? 15 years later?

Sure, the Veyron, Ultimate Aero, and CCXR, XJ220 come to mind, but other than that, you'll be hard-pressed to have a car rival it. At least in a straight line.
